general media Franchise(s) You Liked Once But Dislike Now

Castle Bleck

Recommended Posts

-Spongebob. No doubt.

-Call of Duty. Played one. Tried playing another. "It feels the same." (I will never touch this "OMGCODISWORSTTHINGEVER" bandwagon ever again.)

-Halo. I LOVE CE to this day. But Reach... Ech...

-Ben 10. I liked this show for it's first couple of seasons. Then, they started marketing it not for the show itself, in which it became bland.

-Sonic. The first game I touched was Advance. Then I went to classic. Tried 3D Sonic. Hated the 3D games.

I was also highly obsessed with the Warriors series, but then it got too religious and Mary-Sueish and... weird.

I stopped after the Power of Three arc (I think I read the first book in the fourth arc) so maybe it improved.

I don't know if I dislike the entire series, but I do think Warriors fell off beginning with the 2nd arc. I actually enjoyed the Power of Three arc more than the second one, but then of course there was no pay off in book 6. I didn't ever finish the 4th arc, but quite frankly it seemed every book was repetitive, full of filler, and honestly a cash grab so I stopped reading. I heard the payoff at the end was really underwhelming.

First arc is still pretty good imo, particularly the first 3 books. I must have read the first book 10 times

, Bleach ended after Azien's defeat

Too many fillers, and do many characters from the soul society were forced personalities from those fillers, especially squad 10 captain during the Bount filler arc.

It was difficult to truly enjoy that series after fully understand what was filler and not. Many of the school children didn't get a chance in the story until fillers had ruined their chances

Idk if this posts means like a series you use to like but then you went back and tried to enjoy and you didn't, or if it means a series you liked at first but then later stop liking because of newer content in whatever the medium was.

either way:

Ed edd eddy , powerpuff girls, samurai jack, my life as a teenage robot: when I was a kid I use to like these, went back and tried to watch them again and just got bored/tired after a little while.

the walking dead: just got burnt out after a while. I wasn't super invested in catching up after season 6 (i think) and I never did.

I don't even hide it anymore. MLP fit this bill the moment Josh Haber became in charge. Swore off finishing the show and almost swore off rewatching it too, it took fucking Pony Life of all things to rekindle my love for most of the series, But as far as I'm concerned the series skipped S6 and ended after A Perfect Pear and only had a movie and two specials afterwards

Dragon Ball is kinda weird, I still love it thanks to Super, but I still hold that it should have ended after Cell. Especially since I dislike how the Buu saga undoes a lot of plots DBZ had built up to that point, to the point where Vegeta and bloody Hercule were the only characters to benefit from it. Goku should have stayed dead dammit!

WWE, CM Punk was right, I'd also like to believe the company would be better off when Vince croaks, but I still have to worry about Stephanie(though I actually think if Triple H gets more control things will finally get back on track if NXT is anything to go by)

As for games, the WWE games has been shit since SvsR, save for oddities like All-Stars(would love another one please and thank you)

Dynasty Warriors was a real rollercoaster. DW3 and 4 were awesome but then they just fell by the wayside, especially with DW6. But then DW8 was amazing then Omega Force was all "LOL FUCK THAT HERE'S DW9 WITH SHIT COMBAT AND SHIT OVERWORLD"

Pokemon. I'm not even gonna hide it, I'm a Geewunner. I've tried my hardest to play other games, including golden boys Gold/Silver(pun intended) and couldn't do it. I've tried Sword/Shield and couldn't believe how much the game holds your hand. Pikachu/Eevee is dumbed down and casual as all hell but shit, at least it's honest about it and proudly wears it on its shoulder. Pikachu/Eevee I actually thought was a ton of fun. Heck I still love going back to RBY and FRLG and still sinking hours into those. Even after loving the animes and loving those particular games, I just can't do it

Nostalgia Critic, I stopped enjoying after his evading reviews of Disney Live Action Remakes in March 2018 for personal reasons (no points for guessing why)

Then a month later, Channel Not-So-Awesome revealed a lot of production trouble leading to Exodus of many online reviewers for the Website.

Once the Nostalgia Critic reviewed the Wall, it finally got a lot more downvotes.

- Ben 10. I was the biggest fan, I watched every existing movie/series, knew all lore, etc. Now I'm not interested in it at all

- Star Wars. I used to love it when I was a kid. Now the same as above

- FNAF. I left fandom after forth game because the series almost hasn't changed since the first one. Apparently it wasn't unique case, Scott meant to make fnaf 4 the last game in series, but after it failed he decided that he can't make failed game the last in the series

- Call of Duty. Mediocre at best after Black Ops 2

- Star vs the Forces of Evil. They took a too long break between the seasons (2 and 3 if I remember it right) and I lost interest

My list is mainly going to include Video Game franchises, because most TV shows I used to like, I still like. Sure, I don't like the new seasons of Spongebob or The Simpsons, but I still like to watch the shows. So here are some game franchises I used to like, but no longer do:

  • FNAF
  • Madden
  • Call of Duty

That's actually kind of it, maybe Need For Speed, but I played through Payback not too long ago and thought it was alright.

You mean Scott from FNAF? ;)

I don't dislike it by any means, but the appeal of Super Smash Bros has certainly been lost to me. I hoped that Ultimate would be fresh and draw me back in, but it really wasn't. I used to get so much amusement out of the series (not competitive, just playing for fun), but that seems to have worn thin. I haven't really played Ultimate since the month it came out.

Oops, I always mix these names:Thorax:

I used to pronounce his last name as “Coffin” which I thought would’ve been funny had it been his real last name since the FNAF games are horror games.

He’s probably used to getting his whole name messed up by now :yay:

Danganrompa. It was fun at first but now with the overgrown presence in communities and sheer confusing overall plot, I can't say I'm a fan anymore. It's like, KH but even more screwy.

same, it's become overly too edgy and try-hard to be unique that it's kills it for me. I lost interests after the first. But I do like the colors and the design though.

  • DC/Marvel Comics: As more series are made the less charms is has. Although I see prefer DC over marvel.

I prob have more but Marvel/DC is one of the big franchises that I grew to dislike slowly.

I don't dislike stuff, but take a break from them. I am currently taking a break from Street Fighter games and competition. I need a few years before I can get back to enjoy those

CSI, the Las Vegas one. I used to love it, but man is it just cringe

I used to watch a lot of Nostalgia Critic, but the Junior review broke me and he and his brother were so snappy and defensive about it. Then there was the mess of quitting, coming back, all the stupid skits .. No thanks. Why is it online creators think adding characters and skits make things better? I've stopped watching so many because they became so annoying or added in their spouses or tried to have a 'story' in a review.
Smae with Lindsey Ellis. I used to adore her stuff, but now she seems irritated and bored at having to talk about anything. I don't like watching someone who looks like they are forced to do something and clearly is annoyed all the time. Plus she snapped when people were asking if she was okay during Hurricane Sandy and I was shocked at her response

Eragon. Loved it when I was a teenager, but looking back the books were so cliche and unnecessarily long. Don't even get me started on the movie.

The Simpsons. Hasn't be funny since the early 2000s. The movie was great though.

Doctor Who. Sank into a pit of terrible writing during the Peter Capaldi era (which sucks, as he was actually brilliant in the role, the writers just gave him nothing good to work with) and never recovered.

The Madden game series.

When Madden Ultimate Team was introduced, that's when things went downhill. Why? Two words: Micro Transactions

Plus everyone wants the best players but it's literally a casino, that the majority of the time will give you the worst players...all those coins you saved up down the drain...

I don't necessarily dislike franchises to the point where I ignore them. Danganronpa, Ace Attorney, and Total Drama are good franchises, but I only like it for its first couple of seasons so I pay more attention to those. If I leave a fandom or stop paying much attention to the franchise it doesn't mean I dislike it, it only means I'm no longer interested in it.
