Has Anyone Ever Stood Up For You While You Were Being Cyber Bullied?

The title explains it all. it could have been a moment you had while playing an online game or maybe you were on a community forum.

 

It happened to me while I was playing an online game called Team Fortress 2 about ten minutes ago. I was in a game of attack and defend and there was this guy (who's name I don't remember because I was upset) Who was verbally attacking our team for playing poorly .

 

After a minute or two I spoke up in hopes of making him stop but he then turned on me. He noticed that I'm a Brony and started harassing me pretty intensely. I tried to defend myself but I stopped after a few sentences because I wanted to set a good example for our fandom. 

 

He called me things like faggot, Brony degenerate, he even started making fun of how my parents made me move out. I can't even tell you how many times he told me I'm going to hell. 

 

Well here's the good part. After a few horrible statements he made toward me this random guy who was playing on our team spoke up out of nowhere and started defending me. I'll never forget that moment. A total stranger standing up for me....honestly, I didn't think that would ever happen. 

 

Afterwards, I switched teams and made the bully rage quit. 

 

Today's world may be rotting but after that one stranger stood up for me, I now know that goodness is still out there, it's just hard to find. 

 

So, has anyone had a moment where a total stranger stood up for you while you were being bullied online? I'd love to hear your stories.

Yeah there was a community I was a member of years ago that had members who would sit on the internet looking for reasons to dislike other people and be mean to them and make them feel bad

 

They did this to anyone, even each other

 

I actually had several friends including members of the community defend me on numerous occasions 

 

I finally got all of it to stop when I threatened legal action

 

But it lasted for like 4 years

 

I even requested to be banned from places, and people would create accounts and claim they were me when they weren't and stuff, and just kept making lies after I was banned because they knew I couldn't speak up anymore since I requested to be banned

I was a new addition to this one anime group chat on skype. I've known them from a very popular manga reader before though I never really was one of the popular ones. so i've noticed they liked to talk about sex and porn a lot so I thought, hey that's pretty cool that everyone's open. the bullying started slowly and just got worse.

 

this went on for months. i started to get along pretty well with this one dutch guy (we were just friends at that time) and that's when the cyber bullying became pretty blatant. about 4 of them ganged up on me for "always talking about sex" , for being an easy slut and that i should just stop whining about my problems because no one wants to join my "pity party".  dutch guy defended me and called them out on their hypocrisy. i left the group immediately after that.

 

many months have passed after that when i found out said dutch guy was actually seeing/dating one of their close friends. they've met up as well (girl was from croatia) and it didn't last long. they probably thought i broke them up or whatever.

I remember being an active member of a chat about 4 years ago. I don't remember what happened exactly, but someone framed me for doing something just because they didn't like me. I got kicked out of the chat room when I tried to explain myself. I guess they didn't care because I was younger than them.

 

The person who framed me private messaged me the worst things. I think there was even a point when I started crying just because of it. Nobody stood up for me, but I ended up coming back to the chat for some reason.

 

Sorry if the story doesn't really make sense, I don't remember much.

But, that's why I deleted my FaceBook. It's not good for anything besides being a breeding ground for drama.

Not once. Usually when I'm bullied online, those who aren't bullies start to become one of them just to fit in. They start some kind of "Hate Dewdlz" kind of gang. I'm used to it though.

I don't think I have ever been cyber-bullied other than maybe one insult and even then one of my friends immediately tells the guy to fuck off. I don't really talk to enough people or go online long enough to be bullied.

 

I will admit that if one of my friends were to be cyber-bullied, I'd jump in, but my friends can typically handle themselves.

I've never really felt like I was being bullied online, definitely not to the extant some of the comments here suggest. Usually I'll just give a retort or ignore the person (s) completely. Anyone who goes out of their way to beat down others like that is pretty pathetic in my opinion.

I mean kinda, not really. It was more of a quarrel. A stupid one. But it's a long story(and I honestly can't remember most of it) so I'm just gonna shorten it.

 

Anywho like 3 years ago my sister said...some stuff on Facebook. Her and some other girl were going back and forth. Said girl started being a meanie head so I jumped in to basically stop the whole argument. Some guy jumps in, I was a freshman and he was a senior, and he says some rather nasty things to me and my sister, "go headbutt a knife yadda yadda" and then got even worse as it went on. I was just trying to get rid of the whole fight, he went off on me when I didn't even say crap so my sister defended me.

 

My mom saw all the crap and got so mad. She was mad at the fact that I being 14 tried to derail everything and this guy being 18 totally attacked me even though I never said anything about the girl.

 

It was so stupid.

Stories like that is why I play singleplayer only games about 80% of the time and am skeptical to play online. I may be bad but jeez i thought the point of games were to have fun not be some pro, smack talking elitist >.>

 

But I have been stood up for many times. By my now three best friends on PSN. I have been bullied because of my disorder as well but they always backed me up just like i back them up when they get bullied. I wish the world were more understanding but let's be honest, it's a bit too far gone for that. Maybe one day, but not in this lifetime of mine im sure. That's why I don't answer personal questions about who I am or use my mic online anymore either.

 

I have stood up for ponies being bullied myself too, but I just prefer to stay away from others mostly. Had the same garbage happen to me in school. Jeez.
