SolaceFall 21,304 July 16, 2013 Share July 16, 2013 @, Never heard of Venom but if they are as good as you say they are I am going to give them a listen. And I love me some sonic youth. Soundgarden posted this song I listened to it and I really liked it. And I know I have posted a lot of Social Distortion lately but since I have just now really gotten into them... They have become if not my all time favorite band easily. Heck I have already bought every single one of their albums from Itunes. From Mommy's little Monster, Prison Bound, Social Distortion, Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell, White light, white heat, and white trash (a very underrated album imo, Sex, love, & Rock n' roll my favorite album by them, and Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes. Yeah I love them a lot now . This song by SD is just my god I could listen to this band for ages... they are like the perfect example of what I love in music.

Soundgarden 2,756 July 16, 2013 Share July 16, 2013 @, Never heard of Venom but if they are as good as you say they are I am going to give them a listen. And I love me some sonic youth. Soundgarden posted this song I listened to it and I really liked it. http://youtu.be/7WFdscuZXRQ And just as I thought you couldn't get any more awesome..... I adore Shai Hulud, so intense and aggressive. They also score very high in the lyrical department From "Solely Concentrating on the Negative Aspects of Life": "A discontent for the vile and the wretched Will bring forth reparations of the most severe degree Things will change And I will be the catalyst to Weed out the weak and beget strength of character Glorifying minds and souls Celebrate the spirit while denying breath and life To those who would choose to live depraved Depravity, a thing of the past A life not in vain I am the end, I am beginning life anew My soul is free from weakness Free Refined as gold A standard to be met by all As we embrace righteousness, we embrace life Purified, united. set aside from the majority I will serve as an example to man as hope By defending those I love with my life I stand here bold and strong As a testament to my abstinence My heart is open; this slate is clean." The song "Let Us At Least Praise the Colonizers of Dreams" have probably my favorite lyrics of any song ever Without pretennsion. With a sweet chill down my spine... For a time the clouds lift. And what I have resigned to thinking barran Does bear fruit. If I am to die - If I must die. I must inspire while I live, Alongside the dreamers. Let us at last praise the colonizers of dreams. I surrender all. All I have give: To those who survived life's thorns And provided escape. To those, whos creations live forever. To those that wrote the words. Though my knees become weak. I will cause my foot another step. To carry the task. And to those that understood There is a need for faith And a need for hope. Let us at last praise the colonizers of dreams. As with the brightest and the wisest, I know the need of Faith, Hope, And Dreams. I burn for vidsions and inspiration, for this is life. If perchance I am dreaming, Please, let me sleep, To spend my time in great Atlantis, In search of Camelot. I drink from the grail, and war with the immortals, Rather than suck in the ruins of a fallen sky castle. Amidst the remnants of once Mighty Colossus. Comes this call: Where are the builders? I clearly see the slayers and the hope they destroy. I clearly see the thieves, and the wonders they deprive the inspired. Where are the builders? If I am to die - If I must die. I must inspire while I live. Alongside the dreamers. Enough of that and have some King Crimson http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H678XUB77OA
Discordian 6,004 July 19, 2013 Share July 19, 2013 I've loved this song since before I knew it was Papa Roach. (Didn't get into them for at least a few years after I knew this song) I actually haven't really heard this album at all, I just know this song. Probably heard it on the radio since that was my ONLY source of music for a few years when I was younger. Now that I'm listening to them I might as well go listen to some more. I have both Paramour Sessions and Getting Away With Murder but haven't heard either for quite awhile. TO YOUTUBE............again.
Champion RD92 8,644 July 19, 2013 Author Share July 19, 2013 I like that song, but I'm not a Papa Roach fan. I only know that song, and that song called "Scars" or something. Last Resort is kind catchy though lol SUFFOCATION NO BREATHING
Discordian 6,004 July 19, 2013 Share July 19, 2013 How can you say you aren't a fan if you haven't even heard their better songs like I'm Not Listening, ...To Be Loved or I Devise My Own Demise? Scars was their most popular song but it is honestly one of their worst songs. Go listen to one of the songs I just mentioned. They are far better. Discordian 6,004 July 19, 2013 Share July 19, 2013 Well you're just no fun at all. jk I really love the vocalist for Papa Roach, he's most of the reason I listen to them I think but with songs like I Devise My Own Demise I also love the background stuff. That song you posted...I like the guitar but not sure what to think of the vocals. Seems like one of those bands I'll have to listen to a couple more songs for. I still need to hear some of the newer stuff for this band, this is about as new as I've heard:

I haven't really listened to the really new stuff.
Discordian 6,004 July 19, 2013 Share July 19, 2013 I loved their first three albums (technically two since Live In Texas didn't have anything new on it. ) but then Minutes to Midnight came and I didn't care for most of the album. Haven't listened to their stuff since.

Lullz 3 July 22, 2013 Share July 22, 2013 I would recommend The Bouncing Souls, a punk/rock band. They're fairly unknown but have been going since the late 80's. Break Up Song, one of my favorites from their album How I Spent My Summer Vacation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tersE8G13hM
Champion RD92 8,644 July 23, 2013 Author Share July 23, 2013 (edited) @@Discordian, I don't know if you know about this, but I just found out about this. The guitarist of Disturbed apparently has a new band just like David Draiman does, and this is one of their songs, I think the album is coming out like tomorrow or something, idk. It's not a bad song. Edited July 23, 2013 by Champion RD92
Discordian 6,004 July 23, 2013 Share July 23, 2013 Yeah I heard all the members took after Draimon and started side projects of their own. Definitely like the vocalist. Who is he?

B-P https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtPQ_QJpFIU&feature=youtube_gdata_player This is the first song of Megadeth's album Super Collider. Le Kvlt Dawn 2,364 July 27, 2013 Share July 27, 2013 Behold, L7. A kick-ass all girl grunge/alternative metal band from the 90's. I could say something about them making pop-punk bands like Blink 182 look like well... I wouldn't mess with these chicks.

Sickman 204 July 29, 2013 Share July 29, 2013 No matter what I do, or what new bands I discover, I somehow always seem to go back to Pearl Jam, and this song in particular. This performance in East-Troy, Wisconsin is my all-time favourite live gig, and It just doesn't get Eddie Vedder than this. It's a real shame I never got to experience the Jam during the "Ten" and "Versus" -era.
