Belinda

Belinda barely moved her head in acknowledgement of Cinnamon and watched her walk away. She sat down and sighed quietly. It might be awhile before anything happens, maybe I SHOULD go do something. She was a bit hungry, and going to a cafe couldn't be more boring than sitting around on a bench in a hotel. She got up lazily and walked out the door. As she passed a bush, she paused and peered at it. Maybe I can find a spider or something. Those are always fun, spinning a little web in my hooves or on my wing. I'd settle for a lizard, or even a cricket. She gently pushed aside leaves, not wanting to scare away anything lurking. She smiled maliciously at a sudden thought. Maybe a pony or two at the cafe are scared of critters, that could be fun.

Emerald Gaze.

Emerald looked at the candle for a second before looking back at Sunset.

"Oh but I couldn't, could I?" She looked around briefly, a suorised and slightly sheepish smile of her face. "Or... well, are you quite certain? Such a dear - I'm afraid I don't have anything to offer in return right now..."

Tittering to herself, she inspected ylthe candle and its curious colours intently. Certainly, if it worked as described it would prove useful in several potential situations - not least of all it's actual purpose of helping her relax. Perhaps she would light it tonight - she had been rather tense recently.

"It's quite beautiful - the candle, that is. And one simply lights it as normal? Exquisite!"

Glancing around at another somewhat famiilar voice, the diplomat noted the return of Aero. She blinked, before smiling and nodding in greeting.

"Darling Sunset here was just telling me about her work - she appears to be every bit as talented as she is kind." She noted, sliding a sideways glance at the mare in question. "Would you mind keeping it for me dear? Just until we return to the hotel: I left my bags behind and wouldn't want it to get spoiled before tonight.

Aero Wind

@@Midnight Scribbler, @,

Hearing that the current topic was Sunset's work, Aero looked to Sunset with a grin and excitedly said 'Oh, we're talking about your candles, Sunset? Before, we couldn't exactly talk about it since Shadowhide was there, but now I'm happy to hear all about your candles! Were you and Emerald talking about any candles in particular?' Maybe he'd want to buy one after hearing about them. But this is meant to be a vacation, after all. Sunset might not want to make any enchanted candles until the vacation is over.

Shadowhide

@@Evilshy,

It was much sooner than expected when Shadowhide ran into a familiar face. Before she reached the closest shop, she saw Belinda, who was... intently searching a bush. Normally, Shadowhide would simply pass Belinda without saying anything, maybe with just a quick nod as a greeting. But this was unusual behaviour. Most ponies don't search through bushes in the middle of a town. But then again, most ponies don't have a pet snake they let coil around them in public, so perhaps this is normal for Belinda. Best way to find out is to ask. Belinda probably won't mind a quick conversation. 'What are you looking for?' Shadowhide asked her.

Belinda

Belinda cringed slightly and prepared a snappy remark, but stopped short when she found a small garden spider. She smed warmly and whispered to it.

"Hey there little guy, don't worry. You're safe."

She held the spider up and showed it to Shadowhide, in a completely different mood from normal. "See? A little garden spider. He's so cute!" Her smile was genuine, and even her eyes were warmer than normal.

Somewhat terrified at being picked up and, the spider jumped off her hoof and began letting itself down gently, but quickly, in a line of silk. Belinda quickly outstretched a wing. The spider landed on it and scuttled between two feathers, hiding. Belinda chuckled and very carefully retracted her wing, so as not to disturb him further.

    Belle

@@Midnight Scribbler,@@Scribblegroove,@@Golbez,

Apny like Belle would most likely be scared the the mears sharp teeth. But lucky for her that she had a friends that a set of sharp teeth as well. So she wasn't that scared. And she also understood how others in the acting business were when it came to their performances. Which strangely calmed Belle down a little. She started thinking of her times working with the actors who were playing in some of her movies.

She quickly wrote down a note for the mare. Wen she was done she hold it up for her to read.

"I understand. You and your sister daughter must take great pride into what they do. It's natural to want to make sure everything is spot on when the curtain is pulled up. I'm a screenplay and script writer, and I learn the preparation actors do to make sure their  performances perfect.  So I'll be looking forwards to when the show will be ready.

And I'm sure miss Harmony and Tragedy's performance will be nothing but fantastic."

Belle had a smile under her scarf, even though it was heard to see.

@,

(FINALLY GOT OVER WRITERS BLOCK! YEAH!)

Bittersweet strapped shut her saddle bag and smiled with excitement. She didn't really even take the time to look at the titles of the books just yet she was so giddy. Clearly almost unable to wait any longer to get to reading these books she began to scout out the library for a comfortable spot to read. Though most of the spots she found gave her a rather unsettling feeling that she just couldn't understand, or she could hear other's speaking about things that she, quite frankly, didn't care about. After a few minutes of cantering around she decided that it'd probably be best if she just left to find somewhere more isolated and less freaky. With this is mind she trotted up to Red Cask.

"Umm.. excuse me, mister Red Cask?" She attempted to get the stewards attention. "Is it okay if I leave and go to the inn, perhaps?" She questioned, with a shy smile on her face.

Red Cask

@@FirstPonySpectre@@,

"Very well, I shall escort you out. Please, I ask that you excuse me for just a moment." Red Cask replied. The stallion performed an exceptionally rote and reserved bow before quickly walking in the direction of the other guests. It wasn't long before he found Emerald, Aero, and Sunset.

"Pardon the interruption. Lady Bittersweet has requested to go back to leave the mansion. If any of you would like to leave as well, now is the time. For those of you who choose to stay, if any, I ask that you remain here in the library until I return." Red Cask turned around and began walking back to the exit where Bittersweet stood.

Gemma & Lapis

@@Gloomfury@@Scribblegroove,

Gemma politely waited until Belle had finished writing on her notepad. She must admit that she was at least a tad curious as to what the mare was doing. A soft gasp echoed throughout the theater which drew the attention of her sister. Lapis walked nearer to Belle so that she could read the message herself.

"Oh, why thank you, Miss Belle. Its quite a relief that your so understanding about the situation. I promise you, that despite their age they are highly skilled actors. They've been practicing every day since they were fillies. We taught them everything we knew. " Lapis smiled, no small amount of pride in her voice.

"And then some. I'm afraid their friends don't take the arts as seriously as Harmony and Tragedy do, though they might just lack the same talent." Gemma added while her sister nodded in agreement. "I'm afraid we are running out of time. It was a pleasure to meet the two of you. Please, let either us or Steward Cask know if there is anything we can do to make your visit more comfortable. Miss Cherry and Mirror should meet the two of you outside soon. I'm sure they're just finishing up."

The two mares begin escorting the two of you toward the exit. Once the two of you are by the exit Gemma and Lapis say their farewells and trot back into the theater.

"Lapis, I think the poor mare's a mute!" you hear Gemma mutter to her sister.

"Poor thing, we should have thought about that possibility. We should let the others know..."

Shadowhide

@@Evilshy,

Seeing a genuine smile on Belinda's face was unexpected, but definitely welcome. It's a relief knowing that there's something that can actually cheer her up. Since she has a pet snake and is excited by the spider that's now on her wing, it seems she really likes animals in general. Unfortunately, Shadowhide doesn't share this interest. But since it's the only way Shadowhide knows to keep the otherwise uncaring Belinda happy, she has a good reason to continue the conversation on this topic anyway.

'Yes, he is... cute,' Shadowhide replied, although her voice was a bit too monotone to sound like she meant it. Faking interest sure isn't easy. One of the easiest ways to look interested is to ask questions about it, so that's probably the best thing to do now. Looking at the spider on her wing, she continued 'Do you know what species it is?' Shadowhide didn't particularly care about the answer, but it was worth talking about it to see Belinda happy.

Aero Wind

@@SilverHeart,

Aero found it a little funny how Red Cask formally referred to Bitter as 'Lady Bittersweet', but he refrained from laughing since it would probably be rude to Red Cask to do so. 'I wonder if he'll ever call me "Sir Aero Wind"?' he thought. But just as Aero was about to reply to him, Red Cask turned and walked back to 'Lady Bittersweet'. Aero will go over to join them shortly.

Aero looked back to Emerald and Sunset. 'Well, this is the only book I'm getting' - Aero lifted the book he was holding to emphasize it - 'so I'll be leaving now too. Are you two coming as well, or are you going to stay here?'

Scribblegroove

@@SilverHeart

@@Gloomfury

Scribblegroove had been silent as they were escorted out of the Theater. Even though he understood that they weren't supposed to see the performances on beforehand, he was quite disappointing. This kind of secrecy wouldn't be necessary in the usual theater, and he couldn't remember the staff of the Canterlot Concert hall so cautiously preventing interested individuals from having a look now and then. Of course this theater wasn't the exact same thing, but he reckoned they had some kind of surprise waiting for them that they were this strict with the admittance.

And then they were outside once more. It had been a short trip, and perhaps they weren't too far behind on the others. "Well... thank you and goodbye I suppose..." He muttered to the two mares retreated back into the theater. He was tempted to ask if he could come back at a later time so he could  meet the performers as they weren't practicing, but perhaps it would be better to wait anyway. Looking at Belle, he inspected her truly for the first time. Of course he had seen her before, but he hadn't really been paying attention.

"Lets go to the hotel shall we, perhaps there are some good rooms left." He said to her, and he began moving himself. As Gemma had mentioned, and he had noted himself as well, Belle seemed like a shy pony. Usually it was best to take the initiative with things when hanging around with characters of that sort, both in conversations as in actions, such as deciding to move towards the hotel and finding a room. She'd voice, or in her case write her objections if she happened to have them.

Which left him wondering what story she had for her strange way of communicating. It seemed she was a mute, but it wouldn't hurt to ask. "So... I don't want to seem rude, but I'm actually quite curious why you constantly write things down... How come you don't speak like the rest of us?" He decided not to pretend to feel sorry for her. He had the experience that usually ponies which were impaired one way or another didn't want to be pitied or treated differently. He'd find out for himself if his question posed to be a sensitive subject for Belle.

Sunset smiled as Emerald looked over her new gift. She seemed to be quite receptive, which made Sunset happy. "Of course, I'll keep it for you in my bag. When we get back, I can give it to you to keep in your room perhaps." Sunset replied, and moved to replace the candle into her bag for later, when she was surprised to hear questions from beside her about her work. Turning her head, she noticed Aero Wind had appeared next to her, making her jump slightly. "Oh my." She giggled. "It seems we're all sneaking up on one another today.. Well, yes actually this candle here" She held the candle up so Aero could see it. "This one is enchanted to relax you and help you sleep." She explained, happy to talk about her work finally. Though it seemed the time came short at the moment, as Red Cask made his way over, and announced his leave with Bittersweet.
She glanced about at the others. Aero had made it known he was ready to head back, and she hadn't found anything of particular interest, so she looked back to Emerald. "Well, I'm ready to head back, if you are. I'm happy to stick around though if you plan to stay." Sunset said, silently hoping Emerald was also ready to move along with the rest. There was a lot left to explore around the town as yet, and she wanted to get as much exploring in as she could. If nothing else, just to get an idea of what she wanted to do at a later time. Perhaps the others had some interesting things to share as well.

Shadowhide

@@Evilshy,

Looks like the question worked very well. Belinda continued excitedly talking about the spider for a little while, and Shadowhide simply listened with no interruptions. Sure, she didn’t exactly care about or even understand most of what Belinda was talking about. But it was clear that this was her passion and she knew a lot about it. Who knows, she might end up learning a bit about it too if she’s sees Belinda often, just like how being around Aero Wind has caused her to learn a bit about weather.

Shadowhide probably didn’t sound interested enough, because Belinda soon picked up on it and asked her about it. Shadowhide saw no reason to hide anything, so looking back at Belinda, she responded 'True, I don't like critters. I continued the conversation regardless because you were excited about it. You sound very knowledgeable about these animals. But would you rather talk about something else instead?'

Mirror gave an internal with of relief once it was clear Cherry was willing to not bring up the rehearsal again. There wasn't much to say about it anyway....

Meeting new ponies wasn't exactly what Mirror had in mind but she'd probably have to meet them sooner or later. "I guess we can do that. If we run into any of them on the way back." Mirror trailed off as she followed behind Cherry. It really wasn't something she had wanted to do but being other ponies would probably be good for Cherry at the least.

Mirror stopped waking when Cherry stopped to turn around. The Pegasus began to say something about dinner and paused mid sentence, her face twisted in disgust. Mirror wanted to ask what was wrong but found her voice was caught in her throat. instinctively, she looked down. The mucus on her cloak was at such an angle that Mirror couldn't see it. None of her burns were showing. They were still carefully hidden behind her cloak and mask. Even without the ability to use her magic she was still capable of covering everything up. She looked back up to watch Cherry inspect her mane.

"Ewwww. That's disgusting." Mirror whined. "Oh Celestia, it didn't get on me did it!" It wasn't a question so much as a realization. Cherry had been looking at her when she decided to look at her mane.

"Let's just-" Mirror inhaled and then exhaled quickly, "Let's just go to our room. If we hurry we can clean up."

[/b]@Windbreaker,

As you near the counter the two voices become clearer. From the way they're speaking to each other you can tell they don't know that they have company.

"Look, Rosey. I know that you're kind of frustrated about this whole thing but we have to endure for just a few weeks. I'd really appreciate it if you would at least try to enjoy this." The voice you could hear was the stallion's. He sounded tired and a little hurt.

The next voice to speak clearly belongs to the mare. Judging by the tone of her voice you can tell that she's unhappy and just as frustrated as the stallion. "Rye, I hate cooking. You know that, I know that, the whole town knows that. I love you but the only reason I'm here playing waitress is that those two old bats are trying to get back at me for how they treat the Pupp-"

"No!" The stallion interrupted the mare. His voice was demanding and sharp. Though it grew more empathetic as he continued to speak. "Rosewood we agreed to not bring this up. I know he's your friend but Mrs. Lapis and Mrs. Gemma say he's trouble. I don't trust him. Besides, talking about this will only make the next few weeks harder and pass slower."

"Why do you always listen to them more than you listen to me?"

"What does that even mean?"

It seems that the two of you have come at rsther poor time. As the two ponies in the back descend into shouting at each other you realize that the chances of them noticing you on their own is rsther slim. You'll have to get their attention or come back later.

Then Aero turned to Emerald, Sunset and Bitter. 'So, do any of you have any ideas for where we should go next? Or' - Aero flapped his wings briefly - 'should I go fly around the town now?'

@Gloomfury

Iterested, the stallion listened as Belle explained what had been going on from the start. Her voice was surprisingly warm, and her accent added to it's eexoticism. It was curious that especially her voice, one that he had barely heard, stood out as the most intricate and beautiful of all the ponies that had accompanied him up until now.

"Well... that would explain it." He said absent-mindedly, looking in the distance, deep in thought. "How awful... I mean, I reckon it would be awful for anyone to have, but you have a particularly beautiful voice, so it's even more of a waste that you have to hide away in your scarf like that, muffling your voice and having to resort to writing down all your responses..."

He looked at her, and noticed that she seemed quite down, her head hanging low and her eyes pointing to the ground. "Hey, come on, chin up..." He said cheerfully. "You wouldn't want to deprive the world the chance to see your pretty face now would you?" He smiled, trying to encourage her. "Have you tried some kind of therapy? Usually there's some kind of expert on these things willing to help you." He asked. Clearly she would've tried something, and he doubted that she hadn't gone to see someone for her problem, but it couldn't hurt asking.

Slowly they neared the hotel. It wasn't too far away now, and hopefully there would still be some one - pony rooms left. Not that he'd mind having to share a room, but he'd prefer to have a place of privacy. The rest of the town offered enough company anyway.

Sunset Glow

Sunset glanced at the books Emerald had placed back on the shelf. She considered what Emerald had asked her, thinking about it, she pulled the map from her bag to glance at the locations marked on it. Aero commented on the candle she'd presented, to which Sunset tittered "Well, I'm glad to hear that, Aero. It cuts a potential customer on that front, but I'm sure there are other types of candle I might be able to interest you with." She said, smiling warmly. Just then, Red Cask asked the group to follow him.

As Sunset followed along with the others, she glanced over the map, and found herself fixed on a particular shop which was located rather close to the hotel. She thanked Red Cask for leading them to the Library, then turning her head up to Aero, then to Emerald, in response to both of them, she held the map out. "Well, there's a lot to do, but I was thinking I might check this little shop out, the one here, next to the hotel. Then we can go settle in before dinner happens. What do you think?" She smiled, feeling like it was a fairly good plan for the remaining afternoon. If nothing else, the shop might have something interesting she might be able to remember the trip by, or even better, something she could use in a candle enchantment.
