web Worst/Most Disgraceful Things You Saw Posted On Facebook

Have you seen anything posted on Facebook that you found bad or disgraceful? My Facebook account is deactivated now but during the times when it was active, I saw:

- People kissing/making out with each other: I'm sorry, but I don't like it when people post pictures like that on social media. It makes me think that they're doing it for none other than the likes and attention.

- Relationship Statuses: I hate relationship status updates because they violate privacy. Is it necessary to tell the world that you are in a relationship with someone? Shouldn't it be kept mostly personal?

- Picture of someone in the hospital: I once looked into my mom's account and I saw one of my relatives posting a picture of her mom (who is very old and in serious condition) in the hospital. I found that extremely offensive and also makes me think that people want everything to be public.

There are other things I saw but these three took the cake.

Last year when there was a terrible incident at a furry convention. It's been reported that someone intentionally tried poisoning the air with chlorine, leaving 19 hospitalized.

Even worse, the anonymous criminal was seen as a hero by many people on Facebook.

You can't get any more disgraceful than that.

EDIT: I should also mention this was especially offensive to me since I myself am a furry.

Lately I've seen a few porn videos on my news-feed simply because someone of my friend-list commented something or liked some comment on there. It was really horrible hardcore stuff aswell UGH. I reported it imediately. If I can see it, some kid can too.

I also have an issue with a lot of the friends my age have reached the 'having babies' time. Every day I see pictures of half-naked humiliated babies on there. I really think young mothers in particular should think hard on what pictures of their children should be viewed by the rest of the world. Some pictures really only belong in a private album.

I have seen a lot on Facebook.

-Sad/Depressing posts- Last one I saw, A Cousin's dog getting run over by a car with her children standing right there. Made horrible sounds afterwards. Not very pretty.

-Meaning less Quotes that are supposed to make someone feel better somehow but never apply to you

-Glorified Criminals

-Fake horror news articles.

I could go on.

I'm curate my friends list very often, so I tend to weed-out the people who post offensive stuff pretty quick. Nowadays I just have to worry about the odd annoying meme.

That being said, I wanted to note that I don't actually find stuff like relationship updates/kissing photos to be that offensive or disgraceful. People like to share their experiences, and if that includes love then who am I to judge? As long as it's PG-13 then I could care less. Besides, just because you don't want to see a friend's relationship status doesn't mean their other friends don't, or their family or something. Some people are just more open than others.

I remember this one specific incident where a girl I went to high school with posted that she was in a relationship with someone else. Not that big of a deal, doesn't bother me seeing people post their relationship statuses and stuff like that. But it caused a ton of drama and one long ass FB thread because the guy she had gotten with....

was her ex boyfriend's dad. And she was pregnant with his kid as well. The dad's, not the ex boyfriend's. To make things somehow even more terrible, her ex boyfriend didn't even know that she had dumped him and gotten with his dad because he was away doing airforce training.

This guy is like, 38 years old and she was only 17. (Where I live, 17 is the age of consent so it's legal, but still creepy.)

First of all, the huge age gap is kind of creepy. Second of all, what kind of dad even does that to his own son?

But aside from that one specific thing, the kind of stuff that annoys me that gets posted on FB is racist/sexist status posts/pictures. Although I pretty much instantly unfriend anybody who posts dumb crap like that.

One of the pony pages I follow posted a still from CCTV footage of the Columbine Shooting with Sweetie and AB's faces photo-shopped on the shooters that was captioned "this will be our cute-marks for sure"

I almost unliked right then and there(it wasn't juat me either, I showed one of brony friends that has a pretty dark sense of humor and even he was disgusted and said it was just way to damn far)

A facebook group called, A good wolf is a dead wolf. They post pictures of the end results of all their wolf hunts. Piles of corpses of wolves & coyotes stacked up & hung for all to see, or pictures of them smiling next to the wolf they just murdered, usually w/ something like "Check out my new rug!" Damn those bastards to hell.

We're human beings. Top of the food chain and the apex of evolution on this planet. Yet this is the behavior we lower ourselves to?

Bragging about how many wolves and coyotes you've killed and posting pictured of them dead? That seriously isn't a good thing to brag about. But hey, people brag on Facebook a lot. Thanks for sharing.

I was friends with this vegan-libertarian girl who would not STOP POSTING.  Every day there'd be four or five articles on my news feed about how Bush and Obama were "exactly alike" or why all meat-eaters are gonna die before they're fifty.  She was so self-righteous and irritating that I finally unfriended her.  No big loss.

I dunno about disgraceful, though.  I mean, my definition of irritating or disgraceful shouldn't be the gold standard in evaluating what people choose to put on their pages.

Oh, except what really pisses me off is when people post chain comments and such.  Like "post this t0 5 posts or u will dye 2moro" (spelling mistakes intented).  Those need to stop.

Sometimes I'll see a depressing article someone posted, like a baby who was beaten and killed (seen a couple of those articles posted on there)

Some aggravating things are I have an Obama lover and a Obama hater on my friends list, so one constantly bashes him while the other constantly praises him.If it was one or two status's, that's one thing. But when I'm seeing five or six daily it gets annoying.

Also I have some who feel the need to post every thing they do. "Doing the laundry." "Just finished doing the laundry. Now I'm gonna make some dinner."

The pictures that say "like and share this or you don't care" sort of thing. Some examples are, share this if you're against animal abuse and ignore if you're heartless. Share this if you love God, ignore if you love the devil.

There was this girl on Facebook who said she was pregnant and was like "75 likes and I'll keep it". There was 178 likes.

I don't know what's worse: The fact she uses an abortion scare to get likes, or the fact that she's going to be a mother. .-.

~

Not sure if I could think of anything, but I seriously don't like it when someone posts a depressing status, but instead of helping them people thumb it. I'm like "Jeez, I know you may feel the same way, but don't encourage that behavior!"

To me, it is equivalent to cheering someone on into posting more depressing statuses. To me, I would find that disgraceful.

Someone I'm friends with is always sharing those posts that are like:   *picture of a pony/cute thing* "like to hug me, share to keep me, IGNORE IF YOU WANT ME TO DIE HORRIBLY"  and I get annoyed every time. No you are not going to guilttrip me into liking/sharing by implying that I'm somehow a terrible person because I can't be bothered to Facebook >_>

And this page called The LAD Bible that keeps coming up because a few people on my timeline like it, with really awful "jokes" that are usually sexist and/or homophobic.

And I once saw a picture of a somewhat chubby cosplayer in a skimpy outfit (next to a skinnier/more conventionally attractive girl in the same outfit) with a caption like: "cosplay: because you can doesn't mean you should" and that just made me SO ANGRY. COCO SMASH

...a lot of things to be honest. I only got Facebook recently mostly to keep up with friends and cosplay stuff, and most days I kinda wish I hadn't >_>
