*ahem*

  1. The Impact Wrestling "Television Title" is just another name they gave to a belt that is basically their version of a a create-a-championship.
  2. I don't watch Ring of Honor.

1. But that was the time that belt actually meant something, as a TV title, and that was the name it had for the longest time.

2. why not?

3. You want more proof? Here's another.

Yes. The ECW TV title lasted longer than the WCW one.

Funny, as that belt was the most revered in the company, what with RVD's two year reign and the heavyweight title bouncing between WCW and WWF, and then going on Tommy Dreamer for a day, only to loose it to Justin Credible of all people.

I was more of a WCW and WWF fan at the time.

So a bit of bad news for New Japan fans in North America.

NJPW is running a trio of shows in the U.S. in the next week. The New Beginning in Long Beach, Nashville & Charlotte respectively.

Problem is, thanks to the government shut down, New Japan couldn't get visas for most of it's roster. These shows are pretty bare bones now. They're effectively filled with the few western stars they've got signed plus whatever ROH stars they can fast track to these shows.

Unless those guys put on Omega/Okada levels of quality match, these shows are gonna bomb. Most NJPW fans are the traveling sort, and they're gonna be pissed when  they booked a flight and hotel just to find out that all of LIJ, Suzuki-gun and Bullet Club are staying behind in Japan for their New Beginning tour.

I don't blame New Japan for this, but as of now, they could be handling things better, as no refunds have been issued nor are the bigger stars of ROH & CMLL being flown in to compensate.

I am both very happy and impressed that Becky Lynch has been able to maintain her popularity with the WWE fans considering

all of the times WWE has tried to make her feel like an afterthought.

I have a feeling I've said this recently. :mlp_please:

So, quick rumble thoughts:

  • Lynch/Asuka was good.
  • Banks/ Rousey was better. MOTN. Looks like banks was watching some ZSJ matches.
  • Bryan/Styles was fine. Weakest of their matches so far.
  • Lesnar/ Balor was pretty good. Great selling from Lesnar. But it was obvious when Balor came out with no war paint that he wasn't winning.
  • Men's rumble was an odd affair. Jarrett and Elias having a comedy segment. Potato thrower Jax getting thrown in. Lashley, Hawkins, Corbin and Titus looking like fools. Right man won though.
  • Women's rumble stole the show. Surprised it was the more serious of the two. Clever how they worked in Becky. TBH I was really hoping Ember Moon would win. But at least she looked strong.

And in decisive fashion too. Swags may actually have a nack for this.

A reminder of both the stupid long reigns Hogan had as well as just how frequently that belt was hot potatoed.

I think it's a shame that Curt Hennig & Scott Hall never held the WCW/WWF championship at least once in their careers.

Scott did himself in, so no sympathy there. But yeah, no excuse for missing the boat on Hennig. At least he won the AWA world title though.
