Evening Mist: Could I get some color advice?

I've been thinking maybe this coloration isn't god, but what i wish to know is if anyone can think of a better coloration that best fits her name.

Also i made a change that i like, but you can help out if you wish to.

First off, I like both your designs, they are appealing and im glad there are no eyekilling neon colours..

I personally like the first one more, since I like brown tones, but you´d have to pick on that, but I recommend you using the same background on the designs! A different background can make look the colours in one design better in comparison to the other, it´s tricking your eyes, so I recommend looking at both of them with the same background, you can also use several backgrounds for this, just to see what environment makes your pony look good ' v '

 

I allowed myself to grab an old handmade base of mine and coloured it in for you, in some colours that still resemble the design you made, but alter a little (also note that colours on your screen might look different than on mine and that my taste in colours is different, but i still hope I can help!)

 

 

These are just ideas of what your char could look like as well, I recommend to experiment a little untill you really like it! (the top two are the designs you made for comparison)

 

And about the name: I think it suits quite well, it´s not completely dark, since its evening and not night, and it has not just purely blue tones, its has some differences to it! You would just have to decide on what kind of feeling youd like to give to your character: evil or myserious? go for darker colours. gloomy or sad? pale / greyish colours. happy and fundriven? Pinkie Pie is a good example, highly saturated colours.

I think you should think abt that again and maybe you´ll find the design you´re looking for soon / v \

Hmm, green isn't her color XD

I'd recommend sunset colors, like warm purple, red, orange, yellow etc. if she is a flame oriented pony.

Since you always want to have attention drawn to a pony's eyes, I'd either suggest changing the eye color to something much lighter, such as pink.  Either that, or, with the mane, put the white on bottom, and green on top.  Other than that, she looks great!  I especially like the mane style.  If I had to pick one of the two options, I'd have to go with @anchorseye that the top is nice looking; brown is a nice color paired with green, and the colors fit quite nicely.

Maybe use design #2 and make her eyes a deeper, darker blue? (Less towards cyan more towards indigo)

You want to draw attention to the eyes, so you'll need to make them bolder or change the hue to make them pop. Another option is simply rotating the colours.

I'd suggest you'd take the white out of her hair completely, and if her name is going to be Dark Mist; give her a much darker and more mystical color scheme- work with a navy blue or dark purple for the hair, and if you absolutely want a secondary color, use a slightly lighter shade of blue for the second color. For the coat, I'd suggest something from brown, dark brown, gray, or dark gray- make the coat colors neutral if you want her hair to pop and cause attention. For the eyes, do something piercing that will catch attention- but make sure it's a cool color, meaning blue, green, or purple. For the eyes, I'd suggest a nice, medium shade of purple. I hope I helped!

Uh, okay, it can still be relevant for the color scheme despite who it is, hence the names alluding to darkness. You might also want to change their names a bit, so people as such as I won't get confused.

Her mother is not evil nor is Dark Mist, The difference between them is that Dark Mist has two  personalities; one caring and loving, and the other sadistic. Evening Mist is the parent, and loves her.

I have not once said your characters were evil. I said alluding to darkness, literal darkness, not evil darkness.

Sorry, didn't think i was. But anyway, Dark mist is like this:

 

She does become her evil personality, but after a certain event triggers it permanently. 

and the one shown in the first post is Evening Mist, who is of good alignment.
