"Welcome to the newly open Canterlot labs. I am Quirky." The Pegasus said with a quiet and emotionless voice. "I overlook everything that happens here. If I catch you not following the handbook." She hands you a booklet "You will be terminated." Quirky says with an indifference in her tone. "I hope you enjoy your stay at Canterlot labs." She say as she starts to walks off. "Well, follow me. I am required to give you a tour." she keeps waking, pointing things out and explaining what they do, her voice seeming happier, as if she enjoys what she does. You continue to follow her as she drones on. Then finally, the tour ends around lunch. "If you are in need of any assistance, please ask. She says as she walks into a small office, leaving you alone with your thoughts about the odd mare.

Gammy was almost trotting in place, she was so excited about this job! Her hood was moving up and down on her head a bit, causing the ears to flop about. However, this mood changed when she was suddenly handed a rules handbook. She held it in her hoofs and looked it over. Oh no- Rules- Her worst enemy! Not really, she can follow them with no problem, but she doesn't really like to.

She looked back up at the pony as she heard the strange girl walking off, giving her a strange look till her eyes widened. She put the handbook in her mouth her trotted over to catch up, mumbling a sorry through the book.

Gammy thought the tour was awesome and so informative! She smiled the whole time, and even fluttered herself off the ground a bit in excitement over certain things. She hasn't been so happy in so long. But the tour had to come to an end, and it did. Gammy bowed her head slightly to Quirky, showing Gammy had a bit of a japanese background,

 

" Thank you for the tour~ " She raised back up her head to watch Quirky walk off. She was a strange one-

Gammy went over to a near corner and laid down, putting the book on the ground and starting to look through it. She didn't really know what she was doing at these labs, or where to go next. Maybe the book would shed some light?

Quirky sighed, the new girl was a peppy one. It didn't really bother her that she was like that, just made her think that she was in the sorts of a trouble maker. She nodded to the girl as a 'Your Welcome' and went along with her business. She sat in her office and shuffled some papers, she liked being alone. Just her and her thoughts. She scanned over the papers her eyes darting between two at a time. On her walls were framed degrees, she was a doctor of some sort, but never required anyone to call her that. She stopped, as it was her lunch break. she stood and made her way out of the door, stretching her wings as she did. She walked through the lab, she'd been here long enough for ponies to know she did not want to be bothered. She decided she wanted to go out for lunch and not eat the terrible cafeteria lunches. She exited the building and trotted through the Canterlot streets to find a restaurant that suited her desires. She found a small cafe that she found appealing and entered. She ordered her lunch and sat at the outdoor patio. The waitress brought her a water and she waited for her food arrive.

So far, this book seems to just outline rules. Gammy sighed, she couldn't be any less prepared for this job, and that feeling was bugging her so badly. She was never under prepared! Never!

She looked up from the book to notice Ponies were starting to leave, including that strange and quiet mare. Was it quitting time? No.. It's around noon.. Oh, lunch time! She stood up and put the book in a little bag she brought for her first day. She had packed a bento box, which was also in her bag, but she was curious about Quirky, and maybe she could help her get more acquainted with her job in the labs.

She started to quietly follow her, staying a far ways back. She didn't want to make it obvious that she was following the pony, but more like.. She found her on accident. So when she sat down at the cafe, Gammy purposely waited about 5 minutes before she continued to trot along and pretend that she just noticed the mare,

" Hey- Hi Quirky!! " She waved and flew over, landing by the empty seat,

" Mind if I sit here? " She asked, but she did so without even waiting for the response. She sighed happily,

" I loved the tour you gave! But.. I have no idea what I'm doing- " Way to word it Gammy- but it was the truth- She was completely lost. Maybe Quirky wouldn't even know what Gammy was to do in the labs, but it's worth a shot. Or Gammy just forgot what she was suppose to do. That happens alot.

She thought for a moment before she spoke "You are an assistant," she says with the same tone in voice. "All you have to do is help the pony you are assigned to." She went back to being silent and thought "How rude of her...  But I cannot blame her, she will find out soon enough to leave me be." As her thought ended her food had arrived. She thanked the waitress with a silent nod and stared to nibble on the daffodil sandwich she had ordered earlier. She sipped her drink and glanced up to Gammy. "She has a lot of scars..." She thought looking back down to her food, not wanting to be rude. She wondered where they came from as she ate. The waitress came back with the receipt and Quirky looked over it to ensure it was correct. She decided everything was there and payed for and continued to eat her lunch. "Why is she still here?" She thought starting to get nervous. She wasn't a very good conversationalist, but she could drone on in a collage classroom for hours on end about pony biology. She kept her head down to avoid eye contact with Gammy.

Gammy nodded while she explained her roll. That was easy enough, and it sounded fun! She watched teh waitress bring the bill and walk off. This was defiantly awkward..

" Uh.. Mind if I eat with you? " She asked, taking out her bento box. It was a light blue, and was covered in cartoony clouds and suns. She went ahead and opened it. She made herself 6 sushi rolls, but they were vegetarian of course. She clapped her hooves together,

" Itadakimasu~! " It was a japanese phrase, meaning ' I gratefully receive', A very important manner to remember when eating with someone else. Obviously, unless you're a unicorn, ponies can't use chopsticks, so she went ahead and ate like any other pony, smiling big and happily. Sushi was her favourite food, beside Ramen and Shrimp pasta.

" So- " She took a second between her words to finish chewing and swallow her bite,

" What do you do at the labs? Is it possible I could become your assistant? " She asked curiously, taking another bite of her sushi. Gammy was afraid to make eye contact, and did whenever she could to show politeness and respect.

"I am the lead scientist at the lab." Quirky said with a sense of pride in her voice. "And yes it is very possible, I've been looking for an assistant anyways." She says right back to her monotonous voice. She looked to the box "Cute..." She thought looking back to her plate. "I see you come from Japan." She says quietly, hoping she wasn't terribly mistaken. She took another sip of her water and wiped her mouth with the napkin that was provided. "I know quite a bit of the language," She was almost finished with her lunch, and it was getting close to the end of lunch. "would you mind to walk back with me?" She asked quietly. The mare peaked her interest, she wanted to know more about her past or where she got all of those scars. "I'm being way to nosey." She scolded herself for being that way. She stood and stretched her wings with a small sigh. She pulled a few bits out of her saddle bag and left them on the table as a tip. She wanted to get back to the lab, she had things she needed to complete by a dead-line. The dead-line wasn't close, it just calmed her nerves to get it done quickly.

" Oh- I'd love to be your assistant~! " She piped right up, but then she shook her head at the speculation,

" No, I do not come from Japan. I'm just.. Very interested in the culture. So I studied it as much as I could. I could speak and write Japanese fluently when I was 12~ " She said happily, quite proud of that achievement. She took her last bite of her food, sighing happily. Watching Quirky stand and ask for her company, Gammy nodded and put her bento box away, standing up,

" Yeah, sure~! I can do that~ How long are the days usually at the lab? " She took a few steps and waited for Quirky to be ready to go. Normally, she would fly everywhere, she felt much safer that way, but she figured it'd be rude, even though she was a fellow pegasus. She started to walk once Quirky was ready, but it was more a slow and excited trot,

" Oh- oh, do they have nachos in the lab~? I lo~ve nachos~ " She purred, then perked back up again,

" Or what about teas?! Do you have green teas? Red teas? White teas? " She was getting way to excited for the non important things. Typical of this little hyper pegasus.
