"What are you doing!! Stop!!" Lovely screamed as she watched the fire-fighter rip the flesh from the other fire-fighter. Lovely's face turned white, she felt faint. I think I'm going to be sick. Lovely's eyes scattered around the room, looking for someone to add some logic to the insane situation. Suddenly the adrenalin kicked in and Lovely felt her fleeing instinct. She turned to the stairwell, but her body froze in fear. Lovely began to cry.

The HO dropped his equiptment, "No, No, Oh buck no!" He started to run up the stairs, "I'm not gonna be infected!" he screamed hysterically, "Not my blood! Not my blood! NOT IN MY BLOOD!" He disappeared into the stairwell, laughing while he ran.

"Oh dear god." Ampyrion backed away, holding his axe out in front of him in case the firepony-zombie lunged at him.

[Croaks 251]

Croaks jumped up at the sight of the infected pony.

"Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit, oh shit, oh shit, oh shit," he continued saying.

He readied his axe in front of him. There was nothing he could do for the other fire pony.

Not knowing if he was going to make it or not, he attempted to attack the zombie.

A loud 'Click' came from apartment 5A. The HO had locked himself in-in a fit of panic.

The second fire-fighter drops to the ground, his muscles spazzing in pain. Croaks lunges at the first fire-pony with his axe, the fire-fighter moves at the axe gets stuck in the wooden door. The third fire-fighter begins to hyper ventilate, as he pulls a hand-gun from his pocket. The third fire-fighter glances at his old friends with tears in his eyes. He sticks the gun in his mouth and pulls the trigger. Blood splatters on the wall and onto Croaks and the other fire-fighters. The third fire-fighter's corpse falls next to the bitten fire-fighter, the gun still in his hoof.

 

11:02pm.

 

Lab Brag gets a page that an unrecognised pony has entered his apartment.

Enough was enough for George, even if somepony might be injured it shouldn't take so long to get them out and stop the ruckus. He was about to open the door as he hears a gunshot. He stops in his tracks, now hesitating. Did the fire fighters come because of a hold up? No.. that wouldn't make sense.. the ESFT ( Equestrian Special Forces Team ) would have been more appropriate.

 

George wasn't the kind of pony though who would just sit and wait it all out in his apartment. He remembered the bat his sister had given him a few years ago. She said it was for Cricket. George had never played it. Equipped with that he slowly opened the door, checking if anyone was there.

Lionheart watched as thing unfold in-frond of him. Chaos, It was truly weird but this virus seriously turned ponies to well walking dead ponies. From the looks of it though he would need something to protect himself if things went out of hand and he knew exactly what he will us. Without losing more time he grabbed the gun from the fire-fighter with his magic and raised a barrier locking the fire-fighters away from the party of healthy ponies.

 

"What the hay, How did this even happen ? How did this spread in here ? It doesn't make any sense. I mean we were here all day and none came here to spread it but alas one thing is certain" Lionheart's tone was very sad saying this last line as he pointed the gun at the Fire-fighter and tried to shot him in the head. "There is no saving them now."

Ampyrion sighed as he watched the firepony take his own life. He had it the easy way...and it looks to me like the rest of us will be joining him soon. Well, there was nothing to do downstairs-Lionheart seemed to have everything under control. Ampyrion lowly trotted back up the stairs to the second floor, holding his axe out in front of him-whether as a shield or a weapon, he wasn't sure.

Croaks tried to wriggle the axe out of the door with no luck.

It seemed like he was about to die, when his old friend, Lionheart, put a magical barrier around the firefighters.

He continued trying to get the axe out of the door.

Everything happened so fast... I can't, I can't think... what in Luna's name am I supposed to do...

 

I witnessed as Lionheart saved everyone's lives with his barrier and that bought me time to run up the stairs and try to get to my apartment...*BEEP BEEP*

 

My pager? I pulled the thing out from my saddlebag and surely enough, it was a signal that someone was in my apartment.

 

"Well, it looks like someone else got the idea to lock themselves in my apartment before I did." Then suddenly, I remembered something... "UP HERE EVERYPONY!!!," I yelled as I trotted up the stairs, "Head up to 3B! It's the closest safehouse and Greenery and George are still in there!"

Croaks saw the other ponies running up to Lab Brag.

He started panicking. He kept trying to force the axe out, with no success. Finally, he kicked it, sending it to the ground.

Croaks picked it up and ran.

The health Officer heard all of the ponies moving to another room. He laughed, "They're coming..." He walked into the kitchen. "They are trying to find me!" He opened the knife cabinet, "No, no, NO! I won't let them hurt Jacob (Jacob being his own name). Can't let them infect Jacob, no, no, NO!" He pulled out a long knife. "I will not be dead, not dead, not me, no. But they all want to hurt me! So, so I will hurt them. They're all infected, ALL OF THEM!" He opened the apartment door and started to follow the sounds of the ponies. "I will fix it. Make everything safe!"

Lovely turned her head just in time to see blood splatter everywhere. Her mouth dropped. The HO has run off and the fire-fighter just killed himself, this is clearly much more dangerous and serious than I could have ever imagined. Lovely gulped hard, at least Lionheart got the gun. "Great job!" She called over to Lionheart.

 

"Head up to 3B! It's the closest safehouse and Greenery and George are still in there!" Lovely met eyes with Lab brag and nodded in approval, "that force field isn't going to last forever, we need to get out of here and figure out a plan of action!" Lovely followed Lab brag to room 3B.

George had finished opening the door and would get out of his apartment. As he heard somepony come up the stairs he stopped in his tracks and readied his bat. Ready to defend himself should he need to. "Who is there? What is going on? I heard a gunshot... Is somepony hurt?" His doctor habits somehow got the overhand for a short moment.

Ampyrion frowned as he saw the other ponies run past him up the stairs. "Well, someone's gotta bring up the rear," he muttered, beginning to follow thim, while keeping an eye out for any sudden movements.

I ran up the stairs with Lovely and the rest of the group closely behind as I heard a creak come from one of the doors upstairs. Suddenly, I heard the sounds of some pony talking. I recognized the voice as George's and called out for him, "Hey, George, It's me, Lab Brag! You in there with Greenery? LET US IN, there's an emergency!"

Croaks followed the rest of the group. He could see the barrier cracking, and he had to make great haste as he ran up the stairs.

He saw the ponies crowded around one apartment door and another pony.

He heard then shouting and also said, "Your name's George, right? Please, let us in."

George sighed, not a single one of his questions got answered... He would stay where he is, "I first want to know what is going on before I am going to expose myself and Greenery to danger." He called out calmly.

The HO walked toward the group, knife in hand. "I'll tell you what's going on," he shouted, "these ponies are all infected!"

 

The HO pointed at Lovely. "You're tainted blood! You didn't want to take the blood test because you have tainted blood!" He pulled out his knife and lunged at her.

Lovely shrieked! "You're insane!" Lovely used her unicorn magic to block the attack and save herself some time, "can an infected person do this?!" Lovely glared at the HO, "somepony hold him down! He's clearly unstable!" Lovely turned to George, "the building has been put under quarantine, there's an infection. It appears to transfer through fluids. There are two infected on the bottom floor, and one dead. Please give us refugee her!"

The HO stood up. He felt a sharp pain in his chest. In the struggle, he had fallen on his own knife. He spat out blood and toppled over again. "M-my blood... not.... not my blood. I can't die... not my blood... my bad blood..." he pulled down his sleeve to reveal a bite mark. "One of the fire ponies.... I have their blood. Bad blood... tainted blood." He fell. Limp and died.

It's 11:40pm.

 

The bitten fire-fighter appears in the hallway, panting and holding his neck. "Don't be alarmed!" He shouted, "I'm bitten, but not infected." The fire-fighter pulled the rag away from his neck, his bite wasn't very deep or fatal. "As long as I don't die, I won't turn." The fire-fighter saw the HO laying on the ground dead with a bite, "he's not going to last long, run while you can!"

Dusk, who had been silent up until now, looks at the group around him, "Well, let's go!" he says, "We got to run!"

"Quick someone get me a rope! If we can tie him up, he can't bite us, at the least it will buy us some times." Lovely looked over at George, "that's your apartment right? Quickly! We don't have much tie!" Lovely then looked over to the other ponies, "We should split up. Some of you come up to my apartment at 4B, the other stay with George in 3B. We'll wait a bit and then call you, see what we can come up with. We all need to take a step back and come up with a logical plan."
