@,

“RAGH?!” Ash roared in confusion as he was brought to the ground by the Pink Pony. How he couldn’t even comprehend; all he knew now was the sharp pain in his back from the pressure on his broken wing.

“Ow! OW! My wing!”

---

It took a while for the hangover to pass but eventually Fuse’s headache subsided and he sat back up and reached over to the small case sitting on his coffee table. He cracked the case; a orange glow emanated from inside and a letter slid out.

“Eh?” Fuse closed the case and put it back on the table and proceeded to pick up the letter. Tearing open the envelope open with his mouth he pulled out the contents; a small note and what appeared to be a card of some kind. Fuse inspected the card first; it was a darn indigo in color and featured a strange symbol on it in white. A closed eye with a bunch of arrows pointing out from behind it; though each arrow was a different length or thickness… there was no symmetry whatsoever other than the eye. As he looked at the symbol in confusion it suddenly started to turn blood red and the eye opened. “What in Tartarus?”

Fuse the checked the note all there was writen on it were the words “See you Soon.” cute; considering the card. The earth pony tossed the note away and grabbed his jacket; slipping it on and putting the card in his pocket as well as the case. He then proceeded to leave his place.

@@Fractured,

As the crowd roared in cheer; Calibur was just waking up from his nap with a yawn.

“...Huh? Where am I? And what’s with all the noise?” Calibur stretched in his chair as his vision started to focus. He looked around his surroundings; realizing he was most likely in the arena. “...How did I get here?”

Axton walked up to Vera. He was flaming all over at this point, and had a very deep voice, "You've made a very big mistake. You will no longer cause any harm to innocents...." he levitated his spear from Vera's leg, and telekinetic-pulled her by her neck, all the way to him, "You will rue the day you ever stepped hoof in this city....Now you pay...the price!"

With his magic, Axton flung Vera high into the air, setting up for aerial combat. On her way back down, he jumped up to her, and tried to slash with hi, but Vera countered with her sword. She used dark magic platforms to stay up, while knocking Axton higher into the air wither her sword, "You have no idea..."

She then activated her dark magic, and flame magic combo, and infused her sword with it. Creating the Darkflame Blade. She jumped into the air after Axton, and slashed at his body multiple times in quick succession. When she was done, she swung downward, taking herself and Axton to the ground at a high speed. Vera completed her attack, by slamming Axton right to the ground. The attack created a crater on the ground, and a small explosion that sent objects flying into buildings that were nearby.

Vera was finally done. She had cuts and bruises riddled across her body, "You...aren't worth my time...." she said as she huffed heavily, and limped away, "Got....to find him...."

Axton on the other hoof, wasn't as lucky. He was crushed under the weight of the attack, and had multiple broken bones. He could hardly get up from where he lay. But one things for sure, he wasn't fighting Vera again, anytime soon.

@The Down Trotten

If Rhetoric Rash was expecting something miraculous to happen, he was sorely mistaken. As the announcement went off and the stage began to blur, reverting back to its original blank state, medical ponies rushed in, led by Nurse Redheart. They picked up Celestia, with some difficulty due to her weight, and placed on a stretcher that had been wheeled in next to her. They then carried her off, heading to the hospital where she could be taken care of more efficiently.

@Star Saber

-snip-

After giving her name and Trixie's to the two foals, as well as reluctantly taking her bits back when prompted, Sunset Shimmer had proceeded to devour most of the popcorn in the bag, something that provided a small relief, although she was still a little weary.. As she watched Celestia fall, however, it would hardly seem like it, however; she jumped to her feet, moving past the now awake Caliber and Trixie, who had emerged from her shock with a cough.

"C'mon! We have to go!" She shouted as she raced down the stands. Trixie, still a little disoriented, followed behind confusedly, not understanding what was going on in the slightest.

"...What? It's over already?"

-------

"Maybe you are. Maybe you aren't. But, I don't think that's for you to decide. You see..." Nightingale began to fish in her saddlebag, almost lazily, as if she was searching for something.

"We'd all like to think we control something in this world, even if it's something as simple as control over our own bodies. But, in reality, both control and self-control are an illusion. We can do nothing to stop ourselves from doing anything, understand? Which means, I guess i'm as powerless at being interested in you, against doing this..."

In one sudden motion, a handful of tightly packed magical incendiaries flew from one of her hooves, landing at the base of Fluttershy's nearby house. They bounced once before exploding in seconds, setting the place slowly ablaze from the bottom up.

"... As you are from losing your mind about it. But, hey, that's life." She walked directly up to Fluttershy, slowly, deliberately, and whispered in her ear.

"Time to cry, darling."

-------

As Ice Blizzard finished his speech, Rarity stared into his eyes, unmoving. Then, she reached up a hoof...and slowly pushed him away.

"I'm sorry, I can't." She slowly stood up, looking down at him, and began her speech.

"Ice Blizzard, you're one of the sweetest stallions i've known, and these past weeks have been amazing. But, this isn't me, and this isn't you. Or, it's not who we should be."

She leaned down, picked up one of the flowers, and held it in front of him.

"See these? These are wonderful, but they aren't me. I'm not some special flower that needs to be treated extravagantly all of the time, or i'll lose my petals and die. I can survive as I am, without special treatment. Celestia knows I want some sometimes, but it's not what I need. This time spent with you has been like living a fantasy, but I can't take all of this. It's too much, too soon."

She took the flower, and wrapped his hoof firmly around it, leaving it undamaged.

"And you... I think you do love me, just not in the right way. You're willing to do anything for me, and go out of your way to give me all of these things. But, you're forgetting what's most important; being yourself, and treating me like myself. Because, Ice, i'm not this flower; I don't need special holding and hoof treatment. And until you come to accept that, to see me as I am..."

She turned away from him, not willing to let him see the tears in her eyes.

"I can't say those words. I can't. I'm sorry." She turned around, and walked away, taking the trail that would lead her through the portal and back to Bangcolt.

-------

Silver Spoon had just made it back to Bangcolt, cameras full of information that was sure to make a big selling. She had just discovered a completely unknown secret passage to a place nopony had ever been before. And she had caught it all on camera!

She stumbled onto the top floor of the building that housed the Chatty Cathy, grinning wildly as Diamond Tiara looked down at her, actually a little concerned for her friend, just based off of the look she was giving.

"You're not going to believe what I have, Di..."

@@Fractured,

Ice didn't know how to feel. He felt as if his heart stopped, and shattered into a million pieces. He was downright devastated, and it seems as though he jumped the gun much too early. He sat down, and began to ponder what Rarity said to him, "Do I not really love her? Do I feel as though she can't take care of herself? Am I doing too much? I need to figure this out. I knew I shouldn't have said that to her so soon. Maybe I am going about it the wrong way. Maybe I do need to rethink my whole ideal of this situation. I don't know what to do...."

Ironically, after getting an answer from Rarity, it just seemed to raise more questions in Ice's head. Questions that, unfortunately, he could not answer at the moment, "She says I'm not being myself....that I'm not treating her like herself. And that she'll never be able to feel the same way I do if I don't. But I...she's....I like treating her that way.....but maybe she doesn't like how I'm treating her. She's probably never told me to spare me feelings. And now, she's gone. She's left me."

At this point he started to cry. Even though Rarity was still alive, he felt like he had just lost her forever. He was utterly disappointed, and couldn't find a way out of this hole he had dug for himself. That's when he came to his conclusion, "I can't go on trying to do things for her this way. Rarity knows better than that, but I guess...I don't. I'm not cut out to try and do something like this. I wasn't ready. And I never should have made Rarity feel uncomfortable. So for Rarity's sake, and my own, my decision is clear..."

He took out the gold necklace his mother gave him to give to Rarity, and threw it as far as he could out into the field. He then said silently to himself, "I gotta try and salvage this....." and he started to walk back. He felt as though he should say something in order to try and help her feel better, "Rarity, wait."

He ran and caught up to her, and started walking alongside her, "Rarity...I'm sorry. I was unaware of the way I was treating you, and you're right. I know you can take care of yourself, and I know you don't need special treatment. I just...I don't know...got overly carried away and ended up trying too hard. Thank you for telling me. If it wasn't brought to my attention I think I would've continued treating you like that. But as you said, I need to be myself and accept you for who you are, and I'm starting to see what you mean."

He sighed, "The last thing I want in this world is for you to be uncomfortable because of something I said or did. And I don't expect your mind to change instantly over what I'm saying, but rather, I hope you feel more comfortable in knowing that I have a better understanding of how you feel about how I'm treating you. And that in time, I hope I can show you that I've come to accept you for who you are, rather than something you're not. Until then, I'm not gonna change who I am, nor will I change the way I act around you, I promise."

He couldn't help but stare at the scene for a bit, things were getting more and more surreal by the second. He had won, which upon quick inspection was actually a bit worse then losing. A lot worse actually, now any fighter wanting to make a name for themselves who had heard or seen this fight would come looking for him. A mixed blessing at the very best. But that problem would have to wait, he was just responsible for putting the Princess in the hospital. fight or no, he felt he had to at least say thank you and maybe even sorry after she woke up. Besides, before  the magic stuff did there magic things, Celestia had left him on a cliff hanger.

Enough... what on earth are you talking about. He sighed and hobbled after the royal stretcher, his one leg a bit useless at the moment. Driven by responsibility, gratitude, and curiosity, he only hopped that there wasn't any reporters to stop him on his way

Celestia rested quietly laid down on a bed in one of Bangcolt's many hospital wings. This one was, of course, stylized to fit royalty; the room was enormous, easily three times the size of the rooms around it, solid red in design instead of a pale white, and was decorated with a multitude of pictures of famous ponies, including the likes of Starswirl, Smart Cookie, and a familiar shadowy figure with a regal pose.

Sunset Shimmer walked in briefly, eyes concerned and a little nervous, flanked closely by Trixie, who was trying incredibly hard to hide hers beneath casual disinterest. The former stood over Celestia's bed, looking down at her softly, while, the latter stood in the back, trying hard not to spare the occasional glance in Celestia's direction. As Sunset Shimmer magically checked Celestia, it wasn't a moment before she breathed a sigh of relief.

"She's okay. She absorbed a lot of white magic, but...she's okay." Sunset Shimmer smiled, relieved to see her teacher wasn't in a serious condition. Trixie, on the other hand, didn't seem to share the same sentiment.

"Well, of course she is." Trixie fired back at Sunset Shimmer in a tone indicating that it should be obvious. "She's an alicorn, and that pony she fought was a nothing. I saw the ending; she threw the match on a stupid whim!"

"No! She didn't!" Sunset Shimmer shouted back, but secretly, she had her doubts. She leaned over on the bed, close enough to almost touch her former mentor, and whispered softly in her ear.

"Celestia...the kind of magic in your system... What were you thinking...?"

----------

Rarity slowed down, letting Ice Blizzard walk alongside her. She still didn't look at him, though, instead choosing to stare down at the ground as she walked.

"I know you will; I trust you, Ice Blizzard. But for now... let's just go home." She continued her same slow stride, even as they neared the portal.

@@Fractured,

Ice opened the portal that led back to Bangcolt, taking himself and Rarity back through. He walked Rarity back to her workshop and said, "Well...I guess I'll see ya later. I gotta get home and..." he yawned, "Get some sleep...bye..Rarity."

Poor Ice had stayed up almost the last few days without sleeping. Trying to do all of these things for Rarity definitely backfired on him, and now he was hot, sweaty, and tired from all that fighting and emotional roller coaster he had gone through in the last few days. It was in the end, all for nothing, and now Ice was ready to go home, but as he started to walk off from Rarity's shop, he fell asleep, standing up, "zzzzZZZZzzzzZZZz......."

From there, he managed to slowly sleepwalk away.

"I'm fine! I'm fine! Its just some second degree burns, shoo shoo." he was nearly fighting off some of the medical staff as he walked into the room. You would think the royal chambers would be easier to find...and better guarded. He awkwardly trotted up to the opposite side of her bed, of all things bearing flowers. What else were you suppose to get a royal who put up with your nonsense? As he set the flowers down on the little nightstand next to her bed he noticed the two other ponies in the room.

It didn't take him long to recognized The one and only Great and Powerful Trixie, but the other mare...she seemed somewhat familiar but for the most part he was pulling up blanks. What are they doing here, I man I could ask myself the same thing, but The Great and Powerful Trixie?...And whoever the second one is...Whats their connection to Celestia? I guess I could introduce myself but then again...there's a passed out princess between us While he did notice them he didn't know what to say. So instead of speaking to them he spoke to no one at all "...interesting turn of events, did you plan this or was it an accident..."

Ice walked back to his apartment, and flopped down on his bed, crying his eyes out. He felt like he had made the worst decision of his life in making Rarity feel uncomfortable. Now, he suddenly came to the realization, "No....I never thought it'd be this way...but Rarity....doesn't love me....I....I messed up. I never should have tried it. What was I thinking. She doesn't love me, and she says I don't love her....do I?"

After almost an hour of weeping, Ice started to think some more, "She says I don't love her, maybe she's right. Maybe I don't truly love her, and I made a fatal mistake....and what worse....is that I've broken my Clan's code of honor and love...just like my father.....I've..disgraced myself as the last active member of my clan...."

Heavy thoughts riddled his mind until he knew of only one other option, "I give up...I can't stay here in Bangcolt. I'm a failure representing my family, and I've got nothing to show for it." He started to gather up his things, and pack everything he had, "I don't know where I'm gonna go from here, but I'm leaving now with whatever dignity I have left...."

Ice knew that if he went back to his home in Ponyville, he'd be followed. As well, he couldn't bring himself to go back to his hometown in the North. All he knew, was that he had to be anywhere but the City of Bangcolt until he could redeem himself. He wrapped his body up in clothing, so that only his eyes were visible. In doing this, he hoped that he wouldn't get followed. But then again, a masked pony with a ton of baggage on thier back would seem suspicious also, but Ice had no time to worry about that.

Clearing his room of his belongings, and with his disguise, Ice took a route that did not pass Rarity's shop due to how much shame he felt, and walked slowly to the train station.

Jade, having unmoved from her meditative stance since Axton left, had a group of ponies surrounding her. A few passers-by dropped some bits in front of her, mistaking her for a busker.

She opened an eye slightly, and spotted a heavily-clothed pony sneaking down the street past her. She could see sadness in their eyes.

Using the one hoof she balanced on, she hopped up, rolling and flipping in the air and landing on all fours in front of the disguised pony. The move got some applause from her onlookers.

"You seem troubled," She said, "May I perhaps offer some help?"

I was asleep in the lab with Will's gun about half way done now when I heard clunks on the outside of the shop which woke me up. The metal I had to move one molecule at a time wasn't the issue. The rest of the assembly being so volatile until it had the proper enchantments was the problem. I'd work more on it later. Right now I was wondering what the buck would make such loud clunks on the steel shop that it would wake me up. I unlocked the door with my horn to find a stallion badly injured nearby in a crater with rocks everywhere. I wasn't open, so I locked it back up afterward.

"Well, now I know where the clunks came from. No time to think about that though." I turned to Sparky. "Sparky, stretcher mode please. Ease him in and let's take him to the Hospital." Sparky did as he was asked and we headed off to the ER, making sure to take the mysterious guy's scythe with him.

About five minutes later we arrived at the Hospital and he was taken by the doctors. They said they'd put him in the next available ward after, which happened to be next door to Princess Celestia. Only a hospital separator would separate the two so they'd have a good view of each other if they wanted to. The doctors thought having the Princess nearby would lift his spirits. I'd be there when he woke up but for now I asked where they were keeping Celestia and headed to the ward, only to find my siblings there.

The three of us facehooved on seeing each other.

She turned to face him. "Allow me to ask you a question. How exactly did you treat this 'Rarity'? Do you treat her how you treat anypony else in your life? Like your other friends?"

Ice stopped. Realizing his most glaring error while being in the city this whole time, "No. I didn't. I was doing everything I coud for her. Preactically waiting on her every move. She even told me up front that that was my problem, and why we couldn't be...."

A frown grew across Ice's face underneath his garments, "If you're not trying to help me, then don't talk to me, because I don't even think my ancestors would have anymore respect for me."

"I am trying to help," Jade confirmed, nodding once, then smiled, "And I think you have realised your mistake. It seems to me that your friend, this 'Rarity', wishes not for you to put her on a pedestal. She wishes to be on an equal standing with you, you understand?"

Ice continued walking, "I know. But it's the severity of the situation. I told her that I loved her, but now, I think I've ruined my chances of ever actually having a chance with her. Just as well, she made me realize that I wasn't loving her in the right way, which makes me question if I love her at all."

He started to cry softly, "And if word gets out of how I've treated her, that could be the end of my reputation. My friends aren't going to want to hang around me when they find out I put someone above them. Which is why I need to leave before I lose whatever respect I have left for myself...."

@@Fractured,

“W-wait! What’s going on” Calibur, who was confused out of his mind because he didn’t remember entering the arena instinctively followed after Sunset. He scanned his surroundings as he chased after the orange coated unicorn; spotting that in the arena it appeared as though Celestia was being carried off by some medics, “What? How did… augh. I have so many questions!”

Jade continued to listen, nodding slowly as she hung on every word. "And in what way were you loving her? How did you feel upon seeing her, or thinking about her?"

She noticed his eyes beginning to water. "I am sure they will understand if you were truly smitten by this mare. If they do not forgive you for a mistake like this, then they are no friends of yours."

Ice started to think, "To me....she's an angel. I was willing to do anything for her. I helped her with her work, I cooked for her, I even bought tickets for her to the spa to relax from her work, and to a dinner party that I took her to on a date.. But this is the thing: She works so hard for others each and everyday, and hardly gets anything in return. I felt that if I could do all these things for her.....I don't know...maybe she'd like me. But now, I realize that I was going too far. I bombarded her with all these things, and I wasn't acting myself, nor was I treating her like herself."

"The only way I can think of to solve this, is to leave. If I can't love her the way she needs, then she deserves better. I have no place in her life, and I hate myself for trying. So please....leave me alone."

"Now you realise your mistake," Jade confirmed, nodding once, "But you will not be at peace if you run from it. Your heart was in the right place, of course, but she wishes to be treated like a pony, not a goddess."

She smiled at the stallion. "And you can love her the way she needs. Return to her, take your approach much slower, and allow her to get to know you at a steadier pace. Then, she will know for sure if you are the stallion for her, and you will know that she is the mare for you. Neither of you will achieve peace if you run away from your mistake instead of accepting and learning from it."

Ice knew the mare was right. The problems were right in front of him, and he had to face them if he wanted to move forward. However, a part of him was still apprehensive about seeing Rarity again. the thought of going back to her after already making a mistake...seemed alien to him.

His mind was going everywhere at once, he didn't know what to do or think, and suddenly, he slammed his hoof on the ground, and caused an ice spike to rise up from the ground between the two, "I accept...the fact that I've lost. And now I'm getting out of this place! Ice Blizzard has left the building!"

And with that, he ran off as fast as he could to the train station.
