Little Red 1,529 July 23, 2015 Share July 23, 2015 @, Red listened intently, shutting her eyes slightly so the dust wouldn't get in her eyes, though that probably wouldn't happen. She nodded at Rune's explanation. "So you create and use these glyphs. I imagine it must be hard to create a specific trigger so the glyph will do a specific thing. That's a very interesting fighting style." Maybe she would ask him for a fight later. She decided she would remember his name, at any rate. Not Yellow Diamond 924 July 23, 2015 Share July 23, 2015 @, Night Tracer didn't think too much of either of their responses except for one bit in Celestia's, "Back to Canterlot." "When will we be moving back to Canterlot then?" He inquired, "You can already bet that I'll be going with you for Luna; why even leave anyhow?" He questioned as he took a drink of water. Vae Victis 742 July 24, 2015 Share July 24, 2015 Tyra watched as she advanced on the monster, as the very earth began to cover its enormous body like armour. It had to be weak in some areas, she'd just have to find them. She glanced up as the giant stone paw was slowly careening down on her. She started sprinting faster; if she could make it onto his other arm in time, perhaps the attack may damage himself... The great stone Ursa was too slow in trying to swat Tyra like a fly on a wall, and his paw crashed upon the ground, sending tremors throughout the entire area. However, this did provide him the opportunity to escape from the crevice that he created, as both paws were on the ground, he began to climb out, not paying attention to Tyra. P-Jay 1,987 July 24, 2015 Author Share July 24, 2015 (edited) @Little Red , Ruby was watching rune was a impressed look. "so, the runes have..." "power that it makes." rune explained. "and the glyphs have..." "power thats been pre-set into them." ruby brightened up. "oh! i get it now!" rune grinned too. "glad to hear that!" he looked at red. "and i think i figured it out. were you miffed tat ruby gave out your name before you could decide whether or not you wanted to meet me?" he asked. caliber grinned. granted, yes, he hadn't used his best story. which was a tie between how he got his sword, and that time he had to fight an ursa minor for half a day. or when he went into tartarus. but that wasn't his story, alone. "well, well, now. it seems your the victor, here." he said. "so, what exactly is this thing im drinking, eh?" he laughed a bit. of course, that changeling bit wasn't nothing to laugh at. it really was a bad month for him... he had been walking, aimlessly. looking for the next town, and wondering why the hell he wasn't there, yet. and after a while, he noticed that almost all the plants around him were dead. he dismissed these as nothing more then the result of winter. and after about a full day later, he was stopped by some hissing. turning around, he saw a small pack -maybe 3 to 5- of changelings. he gripped his sword, and killed the few who attacked him, and the others ran off. he thought he was doing them a favor, letting them go like that, but it didnt take long at all before he heard a loud humming, coming from everywhere. realizing that the ones he let away had gotten back-up, he ran. and for the longest time, he had to hide in a ditch, covered in snow that he had snuggled into. the changelings didnt leave for some time, which was about two full days. he was lucky he had a huge meal before all this happened, or he probably would've passed out. when the changelings left area, to examine the next part where he might be, he made a break for it. he learned a lot about changelings while he tried to find his way back. like for instance, lone changelings that were disconnected from the hive wandered around. and the weaker changelings were worked harder then the more able ones. he met a few lone changelings, actually. one of them even pointed him towards equestria, in exchange for some 'love'. he wondered how to even produce that, when she told him to think of someone he had a crush on, or loved. the changeling seemed very satisfied, when he did. she bid him farewell, and he was on his way. but as it turned out, the changelings had chased him fairly far into their territory, so he was at least five days away from safe ground. for a few days, it was all quiet. besides the occasional scuffle of animals, there were no noise. then came the humming, again. he was honestly terrified, at this point. there were at last seventy of them, and he knew he couldn't fight that much. he was running as fast as he could, but unfortunately, it wasn't fast enough to escape air-born enemies. he was tackled to the ground, by three at once. a fourth bared his teeth, and looked like he was about to cast a spell, when he suddenly fell limp. there was a cloaked pony in a mask, there. he merely nodded, and started started drawing the changeling's attention to himself, while beckoning caliber to run. caliber did so, and ran. ran in a continuous line, straight towards safe lands. and when he did cross the border, he felt immediately bad. that masked pony gave his life for him... "i believe you dropped this." a voice behind him said. caliber turned around to find that same masked pony holding his sword. "how, wha, i thought you were dead!" the pony laughed. "oh, no. no, no, i just managed to shake them off. they think that i fell off a ravine. and i just followed you." ah, good memories. it was how caliber met hunter....although, now, it seemed like he would be the one to save someone from the changelings, now. cubus and zenru were fighting, when all of a sudden, cubus tensed. he spun, his sword catching hero's guard, twisting his blade, and effectively disarming him in one fell swoop. "whats this?" he asked coldly. "someone who goes for the back?" zenru stopped almost immediately. "thats hero, a...companion to a gladiator, here." he said, "he must've been trying to break us up. were we really getting that serious?" he looked on the ground, and saw quite the number of trees cut down. and he didnt know whether to laugh or curse. cubus was still glaring at hero with a dark fire brewing in his eyes. "even if we were slicing up an entire town, it still doesn't excuse going for the back. when someone is distracted." his eyes narrowed. "tell me, hero, do you consider yourself honorable?" he asked coldly. Edited July 24, 2015 by PeytonJay
Star Saber 114 July 24, 2015 Share July 24, 2015 @, “Nope. That’s only the third time you’ve asked me if I had any questions.” Ash said while absently looking at his casted up wing. Fractured 2,682 July 24, 2015 Share July 24, 2015 "Sure. I've heard a little bit about it from your mother about who and what the Ice clan is, but i'm still not clear on all of the details." She paused, her eyes growing momentarily sad. "I'm sorry about your father, by the way. I can't imagine what it must be like to grow up with one parent..." --------- Hero glared at Cubus, eyes dark and angry, but he didn't go for his sword. Instead, he drew his shield. Darting slightly to the side, he raised his shield in front of Cubus', just in time to block the three arrows that had flown in silently from the sky. The bolt embedded themselves in the solid structure, leaking a thick yellow liquid from their tips. Up on the rooftops, Heartthrob watched the scene, and facehooved. "What the hell is Hero doing? I had a clear shot!" "I think that's his way of saying "hold off." Stay here, Heartthrob, i'll handle this." Glory floated down off the roof, interrupting the staring match that had continued between. She caught sight of Nightmare, who had been attempting to skirt around the side of the two fighters, and slowly shook her head. He shrugged, before pausing off in a dark corner. She turned back to the two fighters, and mentally sighed. She really, really hated doing this, but the alternative was incredibly painful, energy consuming, and might be interpreted the wrong way given the circumstances. Which meant, she had no other choice; better a stupid option over no option at all. She begin to pantomime, first contorting her hooves and body to form shapes. First she began with punches and kicks. Then, she contorted her entire body, forming the shape of first a house, then a tree. Then she began waving her hooves back and forth frantically, representing danger. When she was finished, she floated back a little ways away from them, cautiously studying their faces. "we didnt hurt anybody, did we?" he asked bluntly, "because i know for a fact we didnt. so i dont see what all the fuss is about 'danger'..." "cubus, they think that if we had continued, we would've possibly hurt someone." J.R. 3,179 July 24, 2015 Share July 24, 2015 (edited) @, Blizzard sighed and cracked a walnut he got off the table in his hoof, to control how much hatred he had built up for his father, and spoke coldly. "Sorry, it's not your fault, milady. My dad wasn't exactly the best. ...Ahem." Blizzard looked directly at Rarity, and perked up with a nice smile, "Bleh, hehe. I..uh, so Clan history. I could actually give you those details, that my mom left out. Ahem..." "The Clan of Ice was founded 1000 years ago, you know when Discord was running amok. Anyway, 6 Unicorns, 3 stallions, 3 mares, who had knowledge of numerous ice-based magic spells, started the clan, and boom! The Clan itself resided a few thousand miles North of where the Crystal Empire is today, and it's where I grew up, too. The Clan of Ice valued many things, but we mainly upheld 3 things, Love, Peace, and watching out for others. It was a pretty nice lifestyle, and the clan lived happily for a good while. So much so, that the clan had 100,000 members by after only 400 years of being...what's the word...uh...I guess, active or whatever?" He was not usually one for storytelling, due to how parched it made him. But since it was Rarity, he was more than willing to make an exception. He sipped some more champagne, and continued, "Buuuut...then things got worse.. Because we grew so large, neighboring clans considered us a threat, and tried to take us out. It was a terrible war of clans, primarily the Clan of Fire, who hated any clan that was larger than them, led the charged to take us out. And they almost succeeded..." A tear ran down his face as he did his best to hold back crying, "Ahem....sorry again." he said, smiling as he looked at her, "So...anyway, the Clan of Ice was severely cut down in numbers, and they had to relocate a bit South. Closer to the Crystal Empire, but not in that town, and still part of the North. So, after that, Ice Clan members had to go into 'hiding' and not reveal themselves, to keep from going 'extinct'." "And then that's where I came in. I was born into the Ice Clan, but because I was born an Earth Pony, without powers at birth, my dad didn't think I would be much, and he left me and my mom. Hell, I didn't even know him when I was born, and I've never seen him." he cracked another walnut in his hoof, and placed it in a dish with the other cracked one from before, "But eventually, I got my powers from a weird crystal that I found while exploring one day. And....sorry if I'm rambling milady, would you like me to tell you more?" Edited July 24, 2015 by Ice Blizzard
Dust and Memories 557 July 24, 2015 Share July 24, 2015 (edited) When Wilhelm finally arrived at the hall, he looked around for a few minutes until finding Annette. He pretended to miss her and then do a double take, and he walked over, a wide smile appearing on his normally taciturn face. Wilhelm trotted over and gave Annette a tight hug and, after a moment of embarrassed hesitation, a kiss on the cheek. Stepping back, he looked Annette over, pausing for perhaps a few microseconds more than was necessary on her flank before looking away, face a fiery red. "Annette, you look..." He paused for a few moments to think about a proper superlative, and then said "You look wonderful tonight." Adopting a more teasing tone, he said "Oh, did you go to all this trouble for this old stargazer?"He linked his foreleg with hers, and then said "Never mind that; I still wonder how you managed to get even more beautiful, though. Previously, I had thought you were an objective, insurmountable standard of marish beauty." Borrowing from Wilhelm's own turn of phrase, one may have considered his previous blush a insurmountable standard of blushing, but somehow, the redness intensified even beyond that point. Even with the effects of the alcohol in her system, she could still tell talking about his was painful for Ice Blizzard. The last thing she wanted to do was hurt him. "If you don't mind, though, I would like to know more about this crystal that you're referring to. I don't know if you noticed, but gems are my specialty, and it might be helpful to my research..." ------- Glory stared at Zenru, as if she were trying to read his mind. Then, after a second, she nodded, satisfied with her answer. She then turned towards Hero and Nightmare in turn, the former moving over to pick up his sword while glaring at Cubus in return, the latter invisibly rolling his eyes before moving out of the shadows and back to the top of the roof. Hero quickly gathered his sword and left. She too, turned to leave, but then paused. She flew back towards Zenru, and promptly hugged him around the neck. She held on for three seconds, before breaking contact. She then took off, not stopping until she was once again back on the roof with the rest of the dolls. "Dammit! We could've won that fight!" Nightmare stomped his hooves in exasperation before turning to walk back in through the window. The other dolls thankfully ignored him, including Heartthrob. Instead, she turned to Glory, filled with curiosity. "A hug? I thought you hated the guy." she commented, only now remembering to sling her bow on her back. "I thought I did too." she replied, still staring at him from outside, on the windowsill. ------- Sleight Mist smiled at Caliber, then. She flagged down a waiter, leaning over and whispering in his ear. She had to cut back a laugh when his eyes grew wide, like he'd just had something dropped on his foot. She watched him scurry off with a cursory interest for a few more moments, before turning back to Caliber. "So, changelings, huh? You really have been everywhere, haven't you?" @Orion Caelum Anette cracked a light smile, though it was hard to keep straight. J.R. 3,179 July 25, 2015 Share July 25, 2015 (edited) @, Blizzard ordered some hard cider for his glass instead champagne this time. Perfect stress relief. He started a thought back to his younger days, as he sipped his cider, "Ah, yes. That was when I got my powers. Like, even though I'm an earth pony, I can still control ice because of that thing. I remember when I was young, and I loved to explore all around where I lived, buut I was also kind of a rebel." He sorta leaned in and whispered, "Ok, one time, I couldn't sleep and snuck outside the window of my room at night." he then spoke normal, "It was dark, and kinda scary, but I wanted to find....something. Something that'd show me who I really was. So, anyway, as I was walking, I fell down into this icy ravine/cayon, and found this strange crystal. It looked different from many other icicles and crystals that I've seen around my home. And that's saying something, because the Land of Ice was known for its strange crystals and stuff, hence why my mom is a jeweler. So, I was in awe like, 'Woah...awesome.' And like any other foolish kid that didn't know any better, I took it home with me and ran tests on it." He sipped his cider again, "So, I ran tests on it. And since, at that time, I wanted to be a scientist with a 'labcoat, goggles, and bubbly things' fixup. But I simply could not get anywhere with it. I was stuck like a fish in peanut butter. But my mom never gave up on me. She would always tell me, 'You can do it, Icy. Don't give up.' And I'm like, 'I guess.' So I decide to sleep on it after long hours of tests." He ate some more of his spaghetti as a refresher. Icesius was NOT used to long talk like this, however turnabouts is indeed, fair play, "I didn't put the crystal in 'hazard saftey' container, and as I'm sleeping, this thing starts to glow, and shake like crazy. As if the thing was alive or something!" he said, raising his hooves for emphasis, "The thing had like a mind of its own! So, when I heard it, I got up, and tried to contain it. I touched it with my bare hooves, and then it just disappears as my mom runs in to help. I was sorta knocked out for a moment, and then I'm inside my head, and a spirit of this crystal is telling me, and I quote, 'Icesius Blizzard, you are the chosen one. I have been searching for the most deserving pony of what I have kept secret. For years, ponies have tried to sell me, or put me in a museum, upon finding me. But I can clearly see that your soul is pure, but your heartache is unimaginable. Being born into a clan of ponies who specialize in magic, and having no magic at birth is a painful weight that very few know how to bear. Which is why I bestow upon you, your very own ice powers. Use them well, Ice Blizzard, use them well...' He coughed a few times as he sipped more cider. He was perfectly fine, just talking so much is what he wasn't used to, "Whew. That cayenne has some kick. Anyway, so, yeah, once that that crystal spirit disappeared, the crystal itself disappeared. And with a quick blue aura coarsing through and around my body, that spirit pretty much helped me with like a small bit of a life issue I had been having since birth. Pssh, but after that I was like, 'Buck this science stuff, I'm gonna start making ice stuff.' And I practiced my powers almost everyday from then on, and via sculpting school. You know, because these babies?" he said as he made an ice sculpture of Rarity in one hoof, and pointed at it with another, "Such hotness..." he mumbled before making it disappear. "When I was on the cusp of adolescence I bid mom goodbye, and moved to Ponyville after completing art school. Buuut, that's not what I'm about....I mean, sure, I can kinda make sexy sculptures and whatnot, but here's the twister...hehehe....When I was young, my grandpa, Iceberg Chill, taught me how to fight, everyday that he would come home from fighting in the Equestrian Army. His specialty was chemicals and stuff, and he's awesome! Anything a military veteran does, you name it, he's seen it, done it, and beat it! But it does suck, because he was declared Missing In Action by the time he sent me his book when I was still young. It's full of everything he's ever done, seen, and beat.." he said as he held up his grandpa's book for a moment before putting back into his pocket. He sighed, "Grandpa was the best, and he taught me literally everything I know about fighting, when I was a colt. And when I was young, and had my breaks from art class, I would practice my hoof fighting, and re-purposed ice-fighting everyday. Along with my grandpa's teachings. And all this before getting old enough to move to Ponyville." He blushed and smiled like a stupid little boy as his ears drooped shyly, "Sorry Rarity...uh...rambling again...hehe..." In truth, he was distracted by how beautiful his date was, and felt a tad silly having said so much. Edited July 25, 2015 by Ice Blizzard

Fractured 2,682 July 25, 2015 Share July 25, 2015 Trixie was the first to respond. She spoke slowly, as if trying to re-live the memory in all of its details. "I had seven sisters and one brother, so it was hard to stand out. Every once in a while, though, my parents would take time just for me. My father would take me out, and buy me a toy, or my mother would sit me aside, and she'd read me a story. It was something i'd never forget." She stopped, then, remembering to be embarrassed about revealing her personal secrets, but then promptly forgetting again. She found herself too busy staring at the princess, who had gone more rigid than the statues in the front of her garden. "Celestia?" she called out quietly, more than a little worried about the princesses reaction. If the princess had heard her, though, she made no indication of it. Instead, Celestia began to speak herself, talking in an almost haunted tone. "There's... a song. One that my mother used to sing to me." Celestia closed her eyes, and concentrated, willing the memory back from the chains of time itself. Then, she opened her mouth and began to sing, the words echoing through the air as if they held their own magic: No inicio do mundo, cando o tempo se moveu lentamente, tres irmás durmían na casa da harmonía. Abrazados dentro luz das estrelas, as irmás descansou esa mesma noite, embalado con coidado para durmir baixo a canción de ninar da nai A nai deu un agasallo a cada un deles. O primeiro poder do mundo onde interpretou. O segundo, o brillo do sol ao mediodía. A última, tan suave como o luar foi feita. Dúas irmás durmir en paz e poñer as súas cabezas. Descansar suavemente, miñas fillas, ata mañá. She finished, opening her eyes slowly, like she had just woken up from a trance. "Every night she would sing that song to me and Luna before we fell asleep. I can't believe I forgot..."
Little Red 1,529 July 25, 2015 Share July 25, 2015 @, With Ruby's questions, the runes and glyphs made more sense. She grinned slightly gratefully at Ruby before turning back to Rune at his point, almost laughing at how determined he was to figure out why she hadn't been friendly. "Yeah," she agreed, "names can be used against you, and I don't like giving out my name unless a pony is trustworthy." Well, she hadn't actually ever given out her full name. Except on that stupid paper you were supposed to sign to apply as a fighter in Bangcolt. That had been a screw-up...
Fractured 2,682 July 25, 2015 Share July 25, 2015 The mare withe the leafy green mane and tail had been sleeping peacefully in the forest after traveling hours to find a new one. Her rest was disturbed, however, when her ears caught the softest of sounds. She raised her head quickly and alarmingly, but didn't stand. Instead, she quietly crawled through the underbrush, attempting to divine the nature of whatever had woke her up. She didn't have to wait long, as she caught sight of the swordspony nonchalantly walking within seconds. Still low to the ground, she decided to make a break for it, moving quickly and relatively silently through the underbrush as plants seemingly bent themselves out of the way of her path. ------- "Ten years? That's longer then i've been traveling. It's been about six or seven years that i've been traveling since I left Magic School." She peered at him curiously as something clicked. "Wait, ten years, and you don't look that much older. You must've been a kid, huh?" ------- "No, it's alright." Rarity was a little disappointed that the crystal had disappeared without a trace, especially since the properties seemed a little similar to the gem that was now around her neck. Still, she tried her hardest to ignore it; no point in worrying about things you can't change. "You know, Ice Blizzard, you've led quite an incredible life. All of this happened when you were young, and even now, i'll bet you're still doing amazing things." Her eyes grew soft and slightly sad, then, as she looked at him. "Would you ever give it all up? All the excitement, the adventure? For anything?" Funny, the question had played out very differently in her mind. "So, you betrayed his trust then? Hah, Some marefriend." Luna and Nightmare were conversing in the world of shadows, which had taken on a form very different from it's usual dark places. It now resembled a house built from recent memory, with very tangible scenes and visions re-appearing every now and then. Still, if one looked hard enough, the world would betray itself. Every now and then, wisps of shadows would trail through the walls and under the doors before dispersing. "You do not have to tell me twice, Nightmare, I am well aware if what I have done." she spat out the name like it was lodged in her throat, though inside, it was more despair than hatred that took hold of her. she knew that Nightmare had been right for once. "Are you?" Nightmare sneered. "Then you know what you have to do. Tell him the truth. Once he knows the truth, your mind will be at ease. It is the only way..." Nightmare sidled up to her, putting on a soothing tone as she draped a wing over her. Secretly, she had way more investment in this than simply being supportive, but she would continue to let Luna think that. For now.
Not Yellow Diamond 924 July 25, 2015 Share July 25, 2015 @, Celestia sang an angelic lullaby, it was calming, peaceful, intriguing. She seemed like she was in her own world as she sang, that made Night Tracer gleam a bit. As Celestia concluded, he spoke. "It sounds lovely, I wish my mother would of been more like that, but hey, whatcha gonna do?" He chuckled but he ceased quickly as something caught his eye. It was Vinyl motioning him to come to her as it was time to open up for the show tonight, Night Tracer nodded to her while disregarding the other two with him. He then refocused on Celestia and Trixie, "You have a nice singing voice, Celly, I wish I could sing." He lied. "If you'll excuse me I need to take of something. If the waiter comes by, let him know, my order is already been put down. Ok?" He trotted over to Vinyl, "Where's Octavia?" Vinyl motioned her hooves to backstage, and then pointed to her non exsistent watch on her left fore hoof. She concluded with clopping her right forehoof to the ground five times. Night Tracer nodded, "Well, let's get ready then, we decided on our college exit exam piece, right?" She nodded to confim. Night Tracer began walking towards the back, "Let's do this." @, Fluttershy liked that Kevin shared a similar interest with her in animals, it wasn't new but it wasn't often she found someone who shared her love for animals. "Oh, well, uh. Sure." She offered with a smile,"What would you like to know about the animals?" She inquired.
J.R. 3,179 July 25, 2015 Share July 25, 2015 (edited) @, Blizzard thought long and hard over the question. "Give up adventure?" he thought. He continued to think until he came up with a witty answer, "Well...adventuring is kinda my life. Buuut that's one advantage I have, since I'm still pretty young, I could stay an adventurer for as long as I needed, so I don't think I'd ever need to give it up. I mean, heh, you and your friends don't seem like you'll be giving up your Elements of Hamony....ever. And it's huge how much you've done for all of Equestria. I mean, it's amazing how much you 6 get to do. Heck, what I've done in my life is small compared to the life of an Element of Harmony." He leaned in and whispered, "However, there are a select few ponies in Equestria I'd give up adventuring for, but the way I see it, it seems highly unlikely for me to do that anytime soon..." He leaned back and tried to think of another topic for conversation, as he sipped his cider, "Personally, my most incredible adventure was going to Tartarus with my friends Caliber and Wilhelm to retrieve an artifact. And...we did it. Heh, but like I said, that's nothing compared to what you and your friends have done, from Nightmare Moon, to Discord, to Changelings? I mean, sure it doesn't sound that hard on paper, I mean, I've beaten up like 50 changelings on my own once. But Discord and Nightmare Moon? Uh-uh, They're waaay outta my league. I could probably take them on, but nah. But, you should be very proud, Rarity. I mean, not only do you have saving all of Equestria regularly going for you, but you manage to keep a steady clothing business flowing, and you have a little sister to handle, all while keeping yourself looking stunning, and having a great demeanor." He ate some more of his spaghetti before speaking again, "I mean, all that sounds so unreal, yet the mare who's doing it all is right in front of me. That's not an angel at work, that's a goddess." he said with a complimentary, yet serious tone. @, Kevin looked around. He saw the princess, and immediately thought, "Great. If she's here, then something definitely must be amiss in here. Hmph. It's sad how these fools think it's just another party, when there's probably something going on. Get your heads in the game...." "Tell me, is it dangerous to handle certain animals?" Edited July 25, 2015 by Ice Blizzard
Vae Victis 742 July 25, 2015 Share July 25, 2015 Tyra yelped as Lorec got upright, his leg becoming steep and turning into a vertical climb instead of a sprint. She planted her hooves in a gap in his stone armour, watching as chunks of it fell from her attacks. All superficial of course; he didn't seem fazed at all. He began shaking himself like a huge dog, in attempt to throw her off of him. She swung her axe into his rock armour, embedding it into the stone. She hoped it was enough to keep her from falling off... Failing to send Tyra back to the ground, the great stone Ursa stopped shaking, and stood still while growling. Tyra was a feisty little fighter, that was definitely certain. If he could not force Tyra off... Then prehaps he could smash her between himself and the ground! Slowly bending his knees as if to lunge for unsuspecting prey, it was then that the stone Ursa started to run forwards, away from the crevice and in the opposite direction, towards the river that surrounded the valley. then, when he had achieved enough distance from the crevice, the bear would then bend it's knees, as if poised to leap....
