Yep. Especially Braeburn, Big Mac, and Cheese Sandwich.

Since Homosexuality is something natural, and Horses are some of the animals that display it Im sure there are some gay couples in Equestria.

The thing is how much that is accepted in their society. I feel like Equestria is a much open world than ours, so maybe is more common that what we think, but sadly is a children show and there are some rules about what can be showed to the public.

The gay pride parades held every year would beg to differ.

Gah!  You beat me to it!  First thing I thought when I saw this thread.

But then, I mean, of course who could forget:

In this case I think the topic should be changed to "are there any homosexual ponies in equestria?"

Yes, Steven Universe is a big step into showing more kinds of relationship in the TV, but here is the problem. MLP is mostly showed at DiscoveryFamily, who is for children aged between 6 and 11. I know it was showed at Hub before, but still was something to Hasbro. Who sell toys to kids? Hasbro. Who buy the toys to the kids? Moms and dads. Dont put them angry.

Steven Universe is different. Is a CN show who is "primarily aimed at children and teenagers between the ages of 7–16" and the fun fact? Steven U dont have toy companies behind, so is a little more free.

I know, I'm in Children's Entertainment class at Full Sail university right now and we were just being taught the different limits on what is appropriate for different age levels. I personally don't think there's anything wrong with not featuring such themes on MLP because it's not part of the show's message. As long as it's not making homophobic statements, which it's not.

Secondly, Steven Universe does indeed have merch and even shows that aren't made with a toy line or something in line, make most of their profit off of merchandise. Nothing wrong with that.

My point was just pointing out that big steps to orientation rights have already been made in media and in life.

I study animation, so we were also teached about how differents shows works. Depending the public they want to direct the show, is the way this works.

Steven Universe have merch, I know. Comics, clothes and some variety of things, but this is mostly made by CN itself due the popularity of the show. It is not a show made only for sell merch. You cant compare the inmense quantity of things Hasbro release of MLP with the little amount of SU merch.

Korra, for example, already do that big step with their finale! It was really awesome to see if I can say, and every year we have more games and shows that are more open, but mostly for teens sadly.

Idk, I think we start to go out of topic here, sorry.

Edit: I come back years later to fix my english, lol. Still broken, but better.

Indeed, but you clearly understood my point. Gay representation in media is becoming increasingly common and that's a good thing.

I would just say that, and agree with, FiM specifically probably wouldn't be best served with making a big deal out of a same sex relationship.

let's be honest here - while the original aim of mlp might have been for girls aged 5-11, the demographic that is probably keeping their merchandise alive is probably more in their teens to .. *ahem* - mid 30s :P

as a result it might behoove (hehehe) the creators to pave the proper way for children to have the right idea about relationships, that love is love, before they have to stumble around and try to find it themselves, with possibly disapproving parents; and since there are probably a lot of parents that watch it too, perhaps the lessons of the episodes themselves can seek to also humble and change the minds of those narrow minded adults by doing for the adults exactly what the show is trying to do for the children - educate them and open their minds to the power of love and friendship.

Love without boundaries, friendship without conditions.

Lyra & Bonbon have been so heavily implied lately. So. Heavily. Implied. Not hating on that or anything, it's just kinda distracting imo is all. All in all, it's the closest thing we're probably ever gonna get to something like that.

Well, there WAS a time when everypony was straight.

But then everything changed when Braeburn came along. Now everypony is gay. EVERYPONY (Even the females are gay for him somehow)

His cutie mark is "Fruity" for a reason. Ba dum tss!

So how what made you think he was gay?

Blueblood isn't technically gay.

I mean, is it gay to be in love with yourself?

He's super effeminate and also apparently doesn't like mares. Was this seriously not obvious?

to peg anyone effeminate as gay is inaccurate. There are plenty of effeminate straight people - they are just in touch with their feelings. Not being attracted to women is really the only thing you can go on.

Also you will find high society people acted more effeminate simply due to culture - it was seen to be refined to act "proper".

I think it's pretty safe to say that Bon Bon and Lyra are gay as heck, so yeah.

There are gay ponies in Equestria, I mean, if there are in our world, both animal, insects and humans are pretty gay one and again. I cannot see why there wouldn't be in the pony world.
