I've always liked Rarity's "a stitch in time saves nine" line in Art of the Dress. It's neat that they would put a proverb like that in a song. Plus, she was stitching, so it's kinda funny too.

I interpret this very... seriously, for lack of a better word.

Some days may not be the best. But if you focus on the happier things/count your blessings, you can find happiness.

And surround yourself with happiness and don't be afraid to share your feelings with your friends. Carrying your problems will only make things worse.

When watching the animated version for the first time, this point in Smile Smile Smile made me tear up. I liked the imagery of Pinkie literally pulling herself up out of depression just by being able to be there to make her friends smile and be happy. This has been my favorite pony song long before the episode actually was broadcast.
