For starters, I've always been one who likes to know how stuff works. I've always ripped stuff apart since I was a kid, starting with old and/or broken VCR's and stuff like that.

ANYWAY...This pertains to why I ended up liking MLP also.

I (Somehow) knew nothing about THE NEW show's existence until looking up Tara Strong for something unrelated in 2013. I saw she was in MLP and thought it would be funny to see her crappy part in what had to still be a crappy show. Well I watched the first 2 episodes... on YouTube... and thought it was better than expected, but didn't think it was interesting enough watch any more. I really did like how fluid the flash animation was though.

Well since I searched for MLP on YouTube- MLP related stuff kept popping up in the sidebar ever since and it was starting to annoy me. Then I saw a picture of Vinyl Scratch (who I never saw before) and wondered what the hell "it" was and clicked it...  Well I watched more clips and stuff and wondered WHAT THE HELL was going on. So I ended up "taking apart the show" and finding out all about how it started, Lauren Faust, the writers, the VA's, The fandom, etc.

So all in all- I know WAY too much about the show in terms of who/how it's made. In the past I have also worked with flash- so I know what's going on in that aspect too.  I just find it funny that it's this show of all things that I know so much about.

Anyone else in the same boat?

Rainbow Rocks... at least how it could've looked... in a stranger, more interesting dimension

For those who are wondering, Twilight is chewing bubble gum.

Lol. And to think I thought I knew a whole lot about the show. xD I clicked on this thinking "Yeah, I could totally join this. I could recite like every episode or definitely summarize it." But, to be honest, I don't think I know a single person who knows so much as you do bud. xD

I definitely am far from knowing everything about the show I'm sure. ^_^ I don't know all of the background characters or little stuff like that.

Like I said- initially I knew ZERO about the fandom or anything first and watched the beginning 2 episodes and didn't like or hate it. That's why seeing all the stuff online drove me crazy at first. I wasn't hating on it or anything, It just confused and frustrated me. I just thought all the stuff online must be some big joke making fun of it- BUT all the stuff didn't really seem to be making fun of it. I thought it was just some big joke that I wasn't grasping. Me and confusion don't mix well. :baconmane:  I just couldn't see how it could actually legitimately/genuinely be this popular. That's what drove me to tear into the show/staff/fandom to try and figure it out. I did, and now have a bunch of extra stuff in the "useless to everyday life" part of my brain. :squee:

I'm more into the production aspect of the show, what led to it being so popular, and good fan art and animations. Back in high school I was thinking of going into something related to graphic design, digital animation, or some kind of behind-the-scenes aspect of TV production, but ultimately didn't think that would be too good of an idea financially.

I kind of came to the show via a similar trail of stumbling on to it, the only difference is I took to it much faster. Oh yeah, no hesitation with me!

Anyway, that moment for me was when I was at my first Bronycon. There was a charity auction going on and one of my friends asked me

"How much is the bidding at?"

-_- "50 bits."

:wat:

 . . . . "I . . . didn't say that on purpose."

In other categories, I have a working knowledge of Equestria's history, the names and backstories of all the background ponies, and can recite each episode word for word. (Although if you know me, that's not anything new, I've been doing that since I was five.)

I was at a comic book store recently and someone wanted to know what the name of the Doctor Who-based pony was. The owner didn't know so I just shouted out Doctor Whooves. They just said thank you and never put my reputation on the line.

For the record, I know virtually nothing about Doctor Who.
