I think ultimately it varies from boy to boy. Testosterone is one factor of many. I can imagine it depends on education, social factors, upbringing and genetics too. I think boys (and girls) today are mentally "growing up" a lot faster than most of our generations did. I think the largest factors that plays into this is family, peers and social media you're exposed to, not biological factors. We all know today what's being aired on TV and played over the radio. Music videos played on MTV edge on pornographic content. Give a kid an Xbox and Grand Theft Auto and they can pick up hookers and gain health from having sex with them. Even if parents can shelter their kids from hearing/seeing this content then they will be exposed to it anyway at school from their peers. When I was a kid in middle school, those types of feelings were embarrassing. Today, wanting to have sex is glorified and cool.

 

I think I had my first serious crush around 12-13 and I don't even think it was sexual at the time. Today I wouldn't be surprised if a 7 year old wants to stick their tongue down someone's throat.

well, as far as my experiences go, i've had funny thoughts when i was a wee lad, around, oh i dunno, 5-7ish? they weren't any desire for physical attraction or any of that matter, but they, with the years passing by, slowly evolved into all these kinds of weird kinks i have as of now. dunno if that counts, but i think that was my first encounter with those kinds of thoughts.

 

also, i've been able to, at a young age, been able to have some, err, lets just say private matters in the tub, that indeed succeeded, although due to being so young, all it gave me was a nice tingling sensation. now i know what that was i had there, and it was also a first encounter of thoughts of sexual pleasure and desires, which didn't come true until years after though.

 

so to get your minds offa that stuff, i've had a crush on 2 girls at a young age. even kissed one of them, the innocent, small peck on the cheek, that is, not the whole, full-on tongue business. it didn't last long though, and we slowly drifted apart with time.

 

i think my first actual experiences with this didn't come true until i hit puberty, where all of my previous experiences began to rose again, into a rather blossoming state, to the point where i am today, as well as all the other shit that i've mostly gotten through now, but some things still persist.

This guy is right. I'm sorry to tell you this, but one does not need to reach puberty to be atracted to the other sex. It's usually more the other way, after all, who likes girls without boobs? Sure it becomes stronger after puberty, but doesn't nessesarily start there. There are many kids who begin masturbating before they are teens. It's not weird at all.
