Poll: How do you feel about mixing FIM with EQG?

This is my first poll, so hopefully it doesn't burst into flames but...

 

At first people were very apprehensive about this topic, bronies didn't want anything to do with it, but after watching, some actually enjoyed it, and I think that especially after Rainbow Rocks, a large number of EQG fans, namely fans of Sunset Shimmer, have emerged.

 

So I put this topic in show discussion because technically it has to do with the show, and there will be a less bias opinion here.

 

So how do you feel about mixing the show and the movies?

Do you want them to stay separate forever? Are you open to change? or would you absolutely support some pony shimmer?

I will never appreciate a mix beetween these two because I don't see a great story that can come out of it. Both things are and will always be fine separated from each other (Although i'm not big on EQG)

I really dislike Equestria Girls. I'm not going to moan about how they should never make more because its here to stay and I know there are some people who like it, but I REALLY want it to stay separate.

 

On the other hand, I think it would be okay to have Sunset Shimmer pop up once in a while. On the whole I think Equestria Girls and Rainbow Rocks are bad movies, but somewhere in there is Sunset being a pretty good character. (At least in RR). 

 

Keep the ponies ponies. I can get high school drama elsewhere.

I would say no because Twilight Sparkle is treated as two different characters in FIM and EG. Either she is her normal self with everything or she's fragile stripped down to less than bare bones.

I don't get were all the hate comes from. I admit I was at first apprehensive about watching EQG but was pleasantly surprised that it was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be and I don't care what anyone says but RR was a genuinely good movie. I suspect the third movie will be just as good, if not better.

 

If you don't like the movies, don't watch them, it's that simple. There are a lot of us that still do.

 

As far as EQG making it into the main cannon of the series, I kinda doubt that will ever happen but I would not have a problem with it.

Sorry, but I just cannot take the idea of FiM and EqG mixing. I really don't like Equestria Girls all that much at all (yes, this includes Rainbow Rocks) and I like to pretend that EqG is somehow not canon with FiM.

I don't mind Equestria girls being canon with the FIM universe, as I feel it fit in well in the first movie and the second.


However, I feel at this point, the two need to be made seperate to allow them to each grow. If you link the two of them together too much you strangle them and prevent them from growing and each of them being "their own" thing, y'know?

I feel that, for the good of the EQG franchise as a whole, they need to more or less divorce the FIM universe from it now, without more interaction between the two, so as to let it stand on its own two feet and do its own thing.

Then again, I'm a fan of previous generations, do my vote doesn't really count because anyone who likes previous generations should have no say so on what they want in FiM. I didn't mind humans in g1, and I wouldn't have a problem with them now. But ignore me, I'm just a previous generations fan...

I agree. I don't think any of us expected that Twilight would make a new portal and decide to keep it open, on her side, so she could came and go whenever she pleases (has she not learned from Celestia- who did the same thing, and basically endangered both worlds when they began to merge, from too much crossover interference?) I can only hope that what she did in the second movie is setup for her to come back and retrieve Sunset, bringing her back to Equestria for whatever reason, and as Sunny decides that it's better to leave her human friends and stay in Equestria, Twilight closes the portal, permanently, by the end of the third movie, and EQG can have a chance to develop on its own from then on. (maybe Trixie can take Sunny's place, or human Twilight, or human Sunny, as the additional 6th man for the humane 5)

It seems a majority of people want it seperate, and im leaning more towards yes, mabye not the whole cast, but i feel sunset shimmer could bring something to the show.

 

But i guess in the end it doesnt matter what i or we want, and ill still like the show AND movies no matter what they do

Going to say that I highly doubt they'll be moving pony sunset out of the EQG universe anytime soon though; for all intents and purposes she's the new "twilight" of EQG, given how they made RR's big arc about her becoming one of the group and she got that music video of her. Heck, when they introduce human twilight, I'm pretty sure she's going to be sub to Sunsets role in the human six, with human twilight not really being any more important than the rest in stark contrast to pony twilight and the mane six.

 

 

If they DO want to put a pony Sunset into the FIM universe, they'd probably do something like Human Sunset shimmer being tossed through or whatnot.

I grew up with the previous gens as well, and I don't mind humans there. BUT EQG is just on a whole other level of... ugh. I'd rather have a generation crossover. THAT would be more interesting.
