(IDEA) Few ways to get G4 to live forever

Like I said before: I don't want G4 to end. I rather have G4 to live forever as the current generation like The Simpsons, Family Guy and South Park.

I mean why not split G4 into different categories like G4.1 or G4.2 for example and use the same art style like they did it in the show and the Equestria Girls movies too. Plus I'm hoping they would announce the future of MLP:FiM...I'm hoping that they could announce a CMC spinoff series, BUT this could be awesome! If they do that, I might be a showrunner and end up working with Jim Miller and Jayson Thiessen at DHX Media Vancouver, that would be 200% super cool.

BUT the only way for Hasbro and DHX to create more G4 content is to expand its staff by forming a new studio focusing on more MLP G4/EG content. The new studio (a would-be joint venture between Hasbro and DHX Vancouver) would have Toronto, Vancouver and Los Angeles locations like Trey Parker and Matt Stone did with South Park. It would be SUPER cool if they hire JanAnimations...that would work REAL GOOD! The new studio would be called "My Little Studio" The point is: SunsetMaster really liked that idea on establishing a studio focusing on future G4 content. Come on Hasbro and DHX, do it!!!

G4.0 = Main series and 2017 movie
G4.1 = Equestria Girls series
G4.2 = CMC spinoff series (MAYBE, shares no relation to the main show, with Season 5, the castle too and Button Mash!)
G4.3 = Comic Book Series (from IDW Comics)
G4.4 = Book Series by G.M Berrow

G4 probably will not last forever especially since long running shows are becoming more and more uncommon. What is possible though is G4 could very well be the longest running generation since G1. G1 had 2 cartoons one of which is falsely attributed to being G2, the first one was good, not as good as G4 but still good and the second not being that great but not as bad as G3. I am more focused on making G4 be as good as it possibly can be for as long as it possibly can be and making sure that when G5 comes up that assuming it has a cartoon (G2 didn't have one) is one that is just as good if not better than G4.

If nothing else, please keep those, Hasbro.

Or if not at least come up with character designs that are just as good if not better. One thing I have noticed about this fandom is the diversity of art styles in a lot of the fanart, even with the diversity though a lot of it is still faithful to its source material. So a different art style could work so long as they put some effort into it, with that said I wouldn't mind if they just used the same exact one in G5 and beyond though because the current art style works quite well.

Most bronies don't want G4 to last forever. Sorry.

Yeah well I do!! All I really want G4 to last forever thank you very much. Plus THAT is my opinion or suggested idea.

I'm not sure I have an opinion on the art style... I guess as long as they stay away from a genuine 3d look I'd be cool with that. There's something just too uncanny about 3d animated kids shows (movies are fine, but the quality isn't as good for tv).

I feel like I DO want G4 to last forever, but I'm open to new things as long as G5 is vaguely consistent with how G4 makes me feel. As long as I feel the bronyhood and connection, and as long as there are deep, interesting, well-designed characters who I get to look into and understand,

I'm good.

as much as I like MLP:FIM, I don't want it- nor should it last forever. All good things must come to an end, before they get stale and leave the people who liked it actually liking it less as it drags on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on, until the end of time. It's impossible for a show to last forever, and anyone trying in desperation to make it last forever is doing something stupid and are foolish for doing so. Let the show end on a good note, with more adventures and new ponies for the next generation, rather than dragging it on.

I don't want it to last forever, either.  At some point even shows you used to love just stop being interesting or funny (Top Gear, The Simpsons) or even watchable (Family Guy).  Sure, comic book characters have been around for decades, but TV doesn't really work like that. It's better to not watch the show because it's off the air than have it still going but not be something you want to watch.

Besides, MLP is first and foremost a toy line.  The show exists to generate interest in and sell those toys.  At some point in a few years, G4 is going to be replaced (note that G1 was as popular as G4, but still lasted 10 years), and if we're lucky, it will come with it's own tie-in show (and hopefully a better toyline).

I think six seasons will be long enough. What good would FIM lasting forever be if the new episodes are terrible and uninspired? The writers probably don't want to work on MLP forever anyway.

>Equestria Girls series

PLEASE GOD NO! The movies were fine but I do NOT want this to happen.

>CMC spinoff

I want to say PLEASE GOD YES but I don't know how it would work.

Anyway, I don't really know if I want gen 4 to live forever. Other than South Park, there aren't really any shows that have attempted the living forever thing without crumbling, losing most of their fanbase and getting way more people hating them. I don't want MLP to end up as another show that has run out of ideas and turns to total crap. I think there should be like two more seasons after the movie and then that's it. That said, I'll be incredibly upset if it ends :(.

@MAIKUN

Please stop saying "Yeah well it's my opinion!". These are also our opinions - keep an open mind. You created a topic on a forum so discussion is meant to be had - if people disagree with you, accept it.

You have to remember though, that although the show is the popular part of the mlp fandom, it is it not the main focus

Toys are, and always have been, the show is just to fuel the toy line, to increase popularity and sell the toys, thats why they are making an EQG movie every year, for new outfits

But ponies dont wear clothes, and they are running out of ideas for ponies to add or change

A whole new gen would open up a whole new avenue for toy sales, so more $$$$$

IMO, the only long running show that managed to keep its quality still today is South Park. The others either stopped being funny, (The Simpsons), or in some cases became borderline unwatchable, (Spongebob, Family Guy). Some cartoons just aren't meant to run for many seasons because shows tend to lose steam after a certain amount of time. When that happens varies but it usually does eventually happen. For MLP, it's split into generations kind of like Ninja Turtle, due to MLP being a toyline. After a few years, they'll have to start a new generation of toys and shows because that's how toylines work. I'd prefer it to end at the movie before any of the quality goes downhill.

I don't really want that Friendship is magic remains forever. If the movie in 2017 is the last hurrah of the series, i would be pretty happy and can say "that was a crazy 7 year long ride."

If it lives forever, it would run itself dry at some point.

Actually, G4 has probably the most wasted potential for toys. Previous generations had hundreds of different ponies made, but G4 does a lot of Mane 6, Princess, and CMC repeats with a few new characters with each wave of toys.  There are a bunch of background ponies and secondary characters that would make great toys, but they never do anything with them.  Oddly enough, during the first couple of years of G4, they had a variety of characters, but they stopped for some reason.
