Where did the mirror come from?

 

Does only lead to the human world?

 

Does Starswirl have something to do with the mirror?

 

 

These are the many questions to do with the mirror that have been unaswered when it was brought up in EQG... and dont you find it a happenstance in 'Magical Mystery Cure' Celstia gives Twilight a spell (unfinished) to do with Starswirl and then in EQG isnt it a coincidence that Twilight goes through the mirror.

 

I think Starswirl is in connection with the mirror, recall the flashback that when he banished the Dazzlings to the 'other world'. Which begs the question does Starswirl the Bearded have something to do with the mirror. But that just a theory a MLP  theory a thanks for reading!

A magic mirror which can lead to the other worlds as a gift.  not sure what to say

Do you guys think its a plot device for the writers or does it hold actual purpose?

I was going to do a story on that mirror, but cancelled it because i lacked the ability to really do it.

Thinking more of a plot device than a purpose, since they never spoke much about it. All you get told is that it allows you to travel to other universes, but other than that; not much of a purpose.

I'm very curious where the mirror came from myself, but I don't know if they'll go into the backstory of where it came from, I would like to see its backstory if they decide to touch on it.

It's likely Starswirl the Bearded could have connections towards it after all he was able to send the Sirens to the EG universe.

 

Twilight was also capable of transporting herself there via Celestia's diary that is connected to that world somewhat.

seeing how Discord can open up rifts into different dimensions and it was established that Starswirl the bearded sent the sirens to "human world" one can draw the conclusion that interdimentional travel is possible.  That being said once discovered Starswirl and other ponies probably made the mirror as a link between worlds that way they would have a fixed link between worlds.  So now the mirror is like a wormhole generator operated by magic.

Considering that Twilight Sparkle was able to make a cross dimension device on the spot. Starswirl definitely made the mirror.

 

Starswirl: Today, I'll finish that spell I've spent so much time on.

*5 minutes later.*

Celestia: Starswirl, I need a place to contain some mischievous sirens.
Starswirl: *Flips the table.* Bloody hell, I'll just build another dimensional portal mirror.

Celestia: It's no trouble, I could use one of the other mirrors...

Starswirl: No. No. They must be sent to the right dimension. "I haven't made progress on that damn spell for three years. Celestia can't know that I'm just making this up on the spot."
