Astatine (element ²⁰⁷At) has never been observed. It's radioactive half life is so short that it will always heat itself up, turn into a gas and accelerate its own decay into lighter elements before it can be seen, even with high speed cameras.

Some theoretical chemists have predicted it may be shiny and black, but we will probably never know for sure.
