Shadicus 18,936
As for the representation issue, mammals are just easier to draw. How do you figure that? I'd say they're about equal, and if we're talking about 3D animation, then reptiles are absolutely easier to make. They aren't covered in expensive fur textures after all. If Dreamworks can do it, so can you Disney. Edited June 12, 2015 by ShadOBabe
A Black Circle 1,585
I'm going to watch the trailer again And again And again Because I'm just that hype. Also, I've heard this concept before. I know it.
Ziggy + Angel + Rain 11,289
Warm blooded master race. The cold blooded characters have to go to the room in the back. Blatant scaly discrimination!!!1!
Troblems 5,595
And at this rate, Disney may just have enough money to take over the United States government, then use it's large scale military to conquer the rest of the world, and force Let It Go to be the new world orders national anthem. People. We have a crisis here. http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Disney-May-Lose-Staggering-Amount-Money-Tomorrowland-71943.html Not if they keep putting out live action films. How people keep agreeing to be in them is beyond me. >comparing the incredibles to chicken little and cars you cut that shit out The animation was creeeeeeeepy in the Incredibles. Shadicus 18,936
The animation was creeeeeeeepy in the Incredibles. Uncanny valley creepy. You think so? They actually did a better job averting it since the characters were so stylized. They look like 3Ded 2D characters, rather than an attempt at realistic looking humans. Just watched the trailer again. Three times in a row. I'm serious. Please, friend... I've watched it 10+ times by now. Admiral Regulus 2,765
The animation was creeeeeeeepy in the Incredibles. Uncanny valley creepy. I totally agree. I saw the movie in theaters way back when, but I never cared for it because of that. I definitely get the uncanny valley feeling looking at the character designs. A Black Circle 1,585
Oh, marvelous!! XDD I'm already planning out an OC!! XD And there's fanart. Made before the trailer. The furries are really riding this hype train, and I'd see why. This will probably end up being the biggest anthro movie ever when it comes out.
be my waifu 2,842
The animation was creeeeeeeepy in the Incredibles. Uncanny valley creepy. whaaaaaaaat okay you can think the animation is weird but you have to admit literally everything else about that movie was pretty damn great the story, the action scenes, the voice acting, the humor, mrs. incredible's hot bod the music (god damn the music was awesome), etc. I'm hype for the second one

But I prefer to wait because I don't like to use concept art as a reference. I want to see what the character's finished designs are before I try drawing them.
Princess Periwinkle 3,771
Lets face it, Disney probably has enough money to genetically engineer their own real life anthropomorphic animals if they wanted to. As awesome as that sounds the real result would probably be something a whole lot more creepy and a whole lot less cute then we'd all like. And there's fanart. I'm already working on a piece. ^.^

My enjoyment or lack thereof should have no bearing on how you felt about the movie, so let's agree to disagree. Anyways, as someone already pointed out, there's already fan art floating around. I've seen two versions of this, and I thought the black and white one was far cooler. Link to origin

MLPFanatic34 3,215
I am probably the only one that likes Chicken Little, but I admit it I do, also yeah the minute I saw the trailer for Zootopia and saw the fox and the bunny I was in love, that fox is adorable!!!! Princess Periwinkle 3,771
Speaking of art, I'd really like to see a full res version of this: I'm currently attempting to draw it myself, but what I really want is a full quality version done in Disney's style. Edit: I'm pretty sure this is an early version of the characters, since the color of Judy is different than the teaser.
Admiral Regulus 2,765
I just have to say, I am loving the art style here. I keep coming back to this thread just for that reason.
Nit Pick 247
I'm still going to see this. But after having my dreams crushed by realizing the movie industry is a nightmare and I don't want to be a movie producer/director anymore. It's a little disheartening that a movie that I was similarly planning to make would be made. When I first heard about this, it sounded fun. Then they had to shove the "anthropomorphic" education teaser trailer. As if to say (at least how I interpret it) "we know this is a furry film but we are not going to say furry in this furry film... furry" The film I had in mind was something similar but rated R and pixar animated. But no. We can't have western animated big screen films with blood in it, because animated films are for kids (as I have been told time and time again).

Okay first, I don't see what's demeaning to furries here if that's the vibe you're getting. Furries are literally fans of anthropomorphic animals. The internet famous term "furry" is not in use by the general worldwide population. Therefore it's better to go with the more formal term "anthropomorphic" (something far more likely to be found in your average home dictionary). I believe it's wonderful to expand the populace's vocabulary like this, and it adds a certain dignity to the concept that hasn't been put much in advertising before. And it shows that the creators have done their homework. Second... Rated R and by Pixar? Disney-happiest-place-on-Earth-owned PIXAR? Buddy, that would have never, ever happened. I don't mean to be rude since I came to the same conclusion about my artist career as you a couple years ago (and it is hard), but yeah... You could have gotten it done by some other studio, or made your own studio, but R rated is not Pixar or Disney's wheelhouse. Disney doesn't do anything that can't be enjoyed by the WHOLE family. PG-13 maybe for their live action stuff, but nothing higher.

I believe that was Fox or something, I'll have to check. But yeah, my point isn't that an over PG animated movie can't be done, it's that Disney and Pixar are not the people to go to for that. EDIT: Oh jeez, no it was by some super obscure studio it seems... Focus Features? Edited June 13, 2015 by ShadOBabe
