So when I was in 8th grade I got some boxers for Christmas. I had been wearing briefs up until that point. I was excited to switch because just about every one I knew and all my brothers wore boxers and I felt like the only one still wearing briefs. when I first started wearing them it felt so stage and it took weeks (even a few mouths) to get use to them. for the longest time I would only wear them on the weekend because it was so distracting. Now I cant even stand to have on briefs or even boxer-briefs at all. anyone else make the switch? how long did it take you to get use to them? did anyone ever go back after make the switch?

also on a side note. I hate when stores or people call boxer-briefs "boxers". there not the same thing. when I go into a store it seems like they are stocking less and less boxers and replacing them with boxer-briefs. anyone else have this problem?

and for the girls, have you ever tryed wearing any of the 3? I know a few girls that wear boxer-briefs as shorts when sleeping and stuff.

I wear like... everything. All at the same time......................... Just kidding that would be kinda dumb, actually.

I switched to boxers from briefs. Due to certain things that require me wearing white undergarments, as well as the fact that it's nearly impossible to find cheap "just white" boxers, I still wear briefs and boxer-briefs(I'll probably just switch to just boxers when those become unusable though).

I'm comfortable talking about this sort of thing so why not? I had an interesting experience with switching to briefs from boxers because my parents insisted it was the reason my underware rode up into my butt all the time (ah what a horrible feeling that shit is). It wreaked havoc on certain... physiological features, so I had to switch back.

Long run I don't want to be wearng either though. :3

you have to find the right fitting brand, I really like the american eagle brand. they say put all day and don't right up (I have never had a pare of boxer-briefs that did not right up!)

I've always worn briefs.

I think you'll have to put a not applicable option on the questions Did you ever switch? and How old were you when you first made the switch? because the forum wants me to choose an option in each part of the poll, even ones which don't apply to me.

Thanks for the heads up. fixed it.

I think the majority of the reason that people wear boxer is because it's stylish. That's why they put different patterns on it. I don't do things just because the cool kids do them. Besides, I like the support.

Can a female comment on this post? I've worn boxers before actually and they're very comfy, but I wear underwear. Again it's probably weird for a female to comment on this, but eh whatever.

Okay, so... I hate boxers

I only wear briefs.  Boxers just don't feel right to me.  It feels like I'm wearing shorts instead of underwear.  And well, imagine wearing short-shorts (without underwear), and then sliding on jeans over them.  That's what it feels like to me.  I like feeling "supported."  So I wear briefs.

Joe Boxer briefs is my brand.  (And Joe Boxer socks, too).

Actually I'm glad you did.

I'm sorry if me asking this is too much - if so, don't feel obligated to answer, and I'm sorry...

But, I was thinking if maybe how I like wearing briefs for "support" is similar to women wearing bras for "support"?  Would it not feel uncomfortable to wear a bra that felt too loose, and non-supportive?

I wear frilly girly undies, but I regularly sleep in a pair of my husband's boxers from high school.

He wears boxer-briefs now. He's a good lookin' man.  :comeatus:

I wear mostly boxer-briefs and briefs, they look the best on me and they feel the most comfortable. I don't like having loose clothing like boxers or wide sleeves, they itch and irritate me when they move around. Although you need to put down a little more money down for good briefs compared to good boxers. I wonder if there's a difference between Europe and the USA in these things. Because most people I know (at least whenever I change at my gym) wear boxer-briefs, only some wear boxers.

It's not really the best idea to work out or run in boxers (coming from a personal experience). At least for the stuff I've worn it does get uncomfortable, especially with running if you have a long stride.

I've never had problems at all with briefs, I usually run 2km every time I go to the gym, then work out and then run another 2km for fat burning. Although the boxer-briefs and briefs I buy are a little more expensive than most so the material and quality probably play a huge factor in it.

I think I wore briefs as a little kid, but I can hardly remember.  I switched to boxers at a very young age.  That's all I wore up until a few years ago when I got really into fashion and finally found the courage to express myself through my apparel.  When I wear my fashionable outfits, I wear Under Armour boxer-briefs, or boxer-jocks.  I forget which they call em.  Something more supportive, that's the point.  Boxers certainly wouldn't work with the wacky outfits I wear.  But I still just wear boxers when I'm at home.  More comfortable for lounging around playing video games.

You're fine for asking that Miles, wearing bras that feel loose and non supportive is uncomfortable and much like wearing uncomfortable boxers or briefs so it's very similar.

You should not be running with a long stride. I run naked and with no shoes on (on a treadmill at my house) with out any problems. if stuff is not staying in place you are moving to much and or hitting the ground to hard.

here is a good read on the right way to run.
