Would real life MLP FIM Ponies be terrifying even if they are friendly? Say they visit Earth to befriend humanity through a transdimensional portal into our universe.

OK, let's say Princess Twilight Sparkle (who's powers are exaggerated beyond even the show) wants to be your friend. All the while you know that she could with a simple flick of magic vaporize your body into dust. To add to her being overpowered you could shoot her point blank with a double barrel shotgun to the face... and it would only tickle her.  And to make her even more powerful... a nuclear bomb dropped on her only... tickles her.

To make them even more terrifying the ponies their omnipotent Princess Celestia could destroy all life on Earth with a simple flick of her magic if she wanted to.

Remember, the ponies are like the show they are not Reapers from Mass Effect nor Darkspawn or any other nasty monsters. They are caring and do not abuse their insanely overpowered magic on those weaker than them. Despite this, would you still find the ponies terrifying?

If humanity was to panic... thinking these ponies were here to destroy us. How could they calm us down and convince us they are not here to destroy us?

Assuming they didn't spontaneously become grimderp the most scary things they could import would be their villains due to potential collateral damage (I don't think we're that defenseless, our technology is probably 1-on-1 superseded by the more generally applicable magic but it's not like more than a handful of the ponies have enough magic to be one man armies in their own right) or the likelyhood that they might be overpowering in individual situations where they don't know their own relative strength and hurt us squishies more than they intended in a petty fight.

Those things said they're both fairly controllable, so in the long run they should be a welcome addition to society more than a feared one.

to be fair I think you're overestimating the power of the characters; yes they're strong and powerful but not to the extent you seem to be portraying them. But no they wouldn't be very frightening... what would be frightening would be the general human populace's response to them.

I'm using the overpowered ponies from certain fan fiction as an example.  These ponies are far beyond the canon show.

Well, Twilight can probably do millions of things to me, Rainbow Dash is her own nuclear bomb, Applejacks can most likely shatter bone with her buck, Pinkie is well... Pinkie, Rarity can kick ass even without magic, and Fluttershy... well I got nothing for her.

I reckon they don't have a reason to obliterate me though, so I don't think I'd worry too much.

From the way you describe it, the ponies sound like Kryptonians.  That's probably about how it would go down, to.  I wouldn't be terrified, though.  I'd try to befriend them, because, well, I've always dreamed of something exciting like that happening to break me out of my dull, grey life.

Also, I'm pretty sure Celestia, Luna, Cadance, and Twilight could annihilate the world's militia if their friends lives were on the line.

Conversion Bureau? I'm not sure how powerful they are there, but even in the show canon, it would be slighly intimidating having what are basically miniature and organic metal gears at your own house. But I do know of a certain fan fic where this issue was portrayed more realisticaly and rationaly, and not, unknown aliens = DESTROY

Conversion Bureau?

Take note... I said 'caring and do not abuse their insanely overpowered magic on those weaker than them'. The ponies from such stories are big, mean bullies.

And the main problem with the Conversion Bureau fan fiction is that the ponies are often so out of character and are condescending, elitists that happily commit genocide on so called 'lesser' species.

That, among many other reasons give such stories a large hatedom.

Yeah, I mentioned that fic by guessing, I don't really know any other fic with that premise. I just need to read the premise to know why it's so hated, never going to bother reading it  >_> . By the way, I didn't meant to compare those ponies to the CB ones, but even if they're the kind and goodhearted from the show, I'd still find them a tad intimidating. It would be like having a good natured, but tall and muscular friend, yeah, he won't hurt a fly, but he still intimidate with his mere presence

The only TCB stories I really like is when canon ponies (show like ponies) confront their nasty TCB Ponies counterparts so they can save humanity.

It... just puts a smile on my face to imagine Princess Celestia punching TCB Princess Celestia in the face. While shouting in the Royal Canterlot Voice: That's not harmony! That's hegemony!

Try to focus and realign yourself with the consciousness of unity with the universe and all things.

Aggressiveness resides where there is fear. Lack of love.

Try a healthier food for consciousness too, it must be really unpleasant to hold onto such ideas, especially when there's a lot of better foods for thoughts inside of you.

Considering I have been asked the philosophical question "If we came in to contact with sapient life outside of Earth, how would we treat them?" If the ponies say they come in peace, I will immediately return with kindness and tolerance due to seeing them as equals to humans despite the power difference. I will show no fear due to being open minded to new things so I would give ponies a chance.

I already find real life horses terrifying anyway. If they were colourful, friendly, talkative, toilet-trained, etc, not to mention only about 3-4 feet tall then I'd be down with that. Not bothered about the vapourising magic so much. I have opposable thumbs. Beat that ponies!

I'm in love with Rainbow Dash.  In theory, there are numerous ways in which she could leave me in need of immediate medical attention.  Am I afraid of her?  No.  I trust her - and in the pony I know she is.  She would never do me harm.  Some love bites here and there, but nothing that inflicts injury. x3  I have confidently placed my life in her trustworthy hooves.

I'm also not afraid of my non-pony loved ones.  Humans are easily injured (or worse) even by other humans.  Yet, I needn't fear any of my loved ones no matter what weapon might be put in their hands.  Because I trust them.  I know who they are and that they'd never do me serious harm.

And honestly: Everyone should just worship the damned ponies as immortal goddesses.

Even if they could kill you with a blink of an eye?

A human could kill another human in the blink of an eye.  By your logic, we should all be terrified of each other.
