Been going through and watching the entirety of Metal Gear Solid, and I came across this part in MGS2 and my jaw almost dropped. Keep in mind this game was RELEASED in 2001, and it was probably written and recorded in the late 90's when the internet was in its mere infancy.

What I'm talking about starts around the 1:55 into the vid. I found it rather fascinating.

Hmmm...yeah, it's possible that the growth of the Internet and its unintended consequences were predicted in that game. I remember thinking of that when I played through the game too. I think it's a good point that more information is preserved now, and as a result both the good and bad aspects of our culture can be reviewed by future generations. Given that the dumber side of our culture is more prominent on the Internet, I wouldn't be surprised if people infer that we are oddly fascinated by the most mundane things such as what everyone is eating for lunch. Then again my girlfriend seems to find such information relevant so who am I to judge?

Much of the Metal Gear Solid series is based on "conspiracy theories" and I say that in quotes because many of these supposed conspiracy theories are true in some rather disturbing ways. One of them is that the government has access to technology that is considerably more advanced than what the public is even aware of and there are also various technologies that are being suppressed. Case in point is inventor Nikola Tesla who actually found a way to transmit unlimited energy wirelessly. After he died all of his scientific papers including the ones dealing with that were confiscated by the government and kept top secret.
