Headphones or Earbuds?

I prefer headphones greatly, they cancel out outside noises, sound better and feel more comfortable. Then there comes the moment when I don't wan't to show off my headphones in public or at a party so I wear earbuds.

Headphones at home, ear buds on the go. Ear buds have to have a more 'hooky' design though, I find the kind that go right into your ears to be very uncomfortable.

Unless it's a really comfortable pair, headphones tend to hurt my ears after a while.  Ear buds are also less cumbersome.

I'm currently using earbuds, but I agree that the headphones are more comfortable...especially at home.Away from home they are..maybe.. a little "showy"?

I use neither, as both have the ability to cause pain in, or on, my ears. I've tried many designs, and while some are better than others, they still eventually cause extremely unpleasant pain.

 

Fortunately, I have found the solution!

 

I now use a bone conduction headset, called the Aftershockz Bluez 2. (Really silly name) It bypasses the ears entirely, and sends the sound straight into your bones. It's comfortable to wear, and best of all, there is no pain at all. The only real problem is that the sound bleeds out quite a bit, but it's easy to adjust the volume to avoid that. Usually the sound of the environment will cancel out anything that escapes, unless you have it on maximum volume.

Definitely headphones, I find them more comfortable, and there seems to be more variation in their character too (from what I've experienced at any rate), earbuds definitely have their place (when exercising I won't wear headphones), but for everything else the 'phones come out!

I prefer headphones by a MILE. They're more comfortable, the sound quality is much better and I can still somewhat hear things going on around me. I just HATE earbuds! They don't fit into my ears properly, they fall out, they start to hurt after a while, the sound quality is awful, it completely drowns out my surroundings, and they're just way too awkward overall. Headphones FTW!

I prefer earbuds, since they're smaller and I can use them to listen to music at school . (my school doesn't allow headphones)

When I'm at home, I use headphones, but I use earbuds when I'm on the street; that's all they're good for in my opinion. I don't like using earbuds when I'm producing music.

I think both have their advantages. Earbuds are cheaper, smaller and they're not bulky so they're easier to store, but headphones aren't as fragile and have better sound.

I'm wearing earbuds right now. I've never liked regular headphones, they always made my ears sweaty and sore for some reason.
