Other than your computer, what device is closest to you?

I would like to focus on the “closest to” part of that title.

 First thing I bought with my very first paycheck was my gameboy 3DS. It stands as not only a symbol of what I can accomplish on my own, but as a portal to places & friends when I needed it the most in a very stressful & dark period of my life.

 My gameboys have always been like a brother to me & really do mean the world to me. I can barely go a day without checking that it’s safe. Because the inevitable day that it breaks like the models before did, I loose the characters that taught me valuable life lessons & comforted me more than... well, what few real people ever did.

 It’s always angered me to no end when others just throw away or abandon inanimate objects after a life of duty. Like your parents just tossing out the family cat with the trash; know that has happened too!
