Imagine a group of your favourite ponies turn up at your door one evening and ask you if you know a nice local place to get some dinner, where would you take them? (Bear in mind pony dietary requirements!) Vice-versa, if you landed in Equestria one day where would you go and with whom for a meal?

If you opted for eating in and had to cook\provide drink, what would you make for the visitors? And if you were at your favourite pony's house, what would you like to be on the table?

I'm genuinely curious :)

They come here: I live in a farm town, so there's lots of farming-based businesses that make all-natural products. So probably one of the fruit companies.

I go there: find a griffon, eat some steak.

This is a surprisingly complex question. I would be indecisive on where to go, but  I would probably take them to a place that has an excellent salad bar, like Ponderosa. :3 I could enjoy my meal and they could enjoy a meal that would be very appropriate for them.

As for landing in Equestria, not sure on that one. I am not sure of the places to eat at. :P I definitely would not be able to cook for them in either fashion because I am a terrible cook. I would go with Twilight or Fluttershy though for a nice meal once we actually found a place.

I haven't cut the lawn yet, so I'd see if they went for that before the lettuce draw?

If not that porridge?

I think most places would do a good salad? But it would have to be somewhere that you could eat outside I guess.

If I turned up at my local pub with a bear it would be chaos. Can you image some talking ponies? It would be bedlam!

Scenario 1: My town has a burger joint and a pizza joint. Not very luxurious, but at least the pizza place has vegan food.

Scenario 2: I would probably starve myself.

Scenario 3: Not to pat myself on the back (yeah... no, I totally am), but I am a rather good cook. Vegan stroganoff or some kind of casserole should do the trick.

Scenario 4: I wouldn't really expect Rainbow Dash to give me any kind of food at all.

Nah, you'd just get a LOT of people who believe they've had one too many.

Thanks guys for the replies, some interesting suggestions... I would never have thought of a fruit company. I wonder what the veggie options at MacDonald's are like these days.

My choice, going off a list of things that appear in the show, revolves has to revolve around cake :P

1) I live near a nice cake shop called Slattery which also has a tea room: I would definitely take my herd of ponies there.

2+4) No contest, I would call on Pinkie Pie in the hopes of good company and sampling her baking!

3) If I were cooking, I would do vegetarian lasagne plus salad for main course, followed by apple crumble with custard, and washed down with plenty of cider and\or still lemonade.

If they came here: I would prefer to cook, as it would be easier than trying to bring in animals to a food place (maybe I could pass them off as my service animals, but that would be a stretch). As for what i would cook for them, I may stick to grilled cheese with creamy tomato soup, as it is one of the few vegetarian meals I could eat with them! To Drink: I would go with Dr. Pepper, the nectar of the gods, or root beer for the ponies who want something a little "harder". :P

If I came to Equestria, I would like to try Donut Joes or Sugarcube corner. If I was at a pony's house, there would be pancakes (with optional princess) and some good 'ol apple cider.

I don't think I could ever do anything with hay in it...
