open The Ponyville haunted mansion

For quite a while ponies have been hearing odd noises coming from the mansion, just shy of the Everfree Forest. A group of daring ponies go in and see what is going on in there. They go at night, because it's easier to sneak in then. They crawl through the kitchen window and end up in the kitchen. After the last pony was inside the window slammed shut, trapping them inside. 

A knife was stuck in the kitchen counter. it had blood over and around it. The sink was splashed with blood, as were most of the cabinets. It certainly was a creepy place to be at night. Especially this night. It rained, and lightning was the only thing illuminating the mansion evry now and then.

Star glanced around at the gruesome scene. He wasnt fazed by the blood, yet something felt off about the whole thing. The windows loud slam caught his attention, and he stared at it for a few moments. He glanced at the other ponies that were here too, wondering what they should do.

Lumina barely noticed the slam of the window, and she inspected the kitchen with the expression of a professional. After her eyes registered what little could be seen of the room in the dark, she started walking around and picking objects up to take a closer look at them. She nodded her head a little now and again, and muttered a few words to herself, seemingly ignoring all the other ponies in the mansion with her.

As the skies opened up to unleash its downpour, tan pegasus crept through the window of the supposedly haunted mansion. Once the last occupant had shuffled inside, the window slammed shut, making Thrillseeker jump a bit. He winced when he saw the mass of blood that stained the entire kitchen, trying hard not to think of the house's previous owner and whether or not the blood was his. This sure isn't your typical fun house, he thought to himself as he looked around.

A loud crash of thunder could be heard and a flash of lightning lit up the room for a split second. After that there was only silence. It was only a minute later that footsteps could be heard at the other side of the kitchen door. They slowly stepped past it. The door creeked and opened only a tiny bit.

"What the?" Star asked to himself. He walked over to the door and poked his head down the hallway, seeing nothing in the darkness. He entered the hallway and followed the noises leading him away from the kitchen. He was beginning to regret not having a flashlight.

Seing how Star left without saying anything to the others, Lumina shook her head. She picked the bloody knife up with her mouth from the counter, wrinkling her nose at the smell. She quickly trotted after the pegasus who just left. She could care less about the other pony, but right now, she felt like having more living beings around then dead could be a great advantage. It would be a shame if somepony died this soon, and going into the dark corridors alone seemed to be suicide.

Another flash of lightning lit up the hallway. For a second it showed a dark pony like figure standing at the other side of the hallway. It held a big knife in it's mouth and smiled eerily. It was dressed in a dirty, ragged old white dress that had tears at the bottom. It's long, black mane simply hung down.

Star stopped in his tracks at the sight of the figure. He didnt take his eyes off of the figure, waiting for a sign that he should run. Judging my its sudden appearence and how it was acting, he knew fighting it wasnt an option. He heard the other pony following behind him. "Hold up." He wispered back to her.

Lumina stopped walking, and stared intently where she suspected the presence of the figure. She regretted that she never put much research into the supernatural, it seemed like it would be useful knowledge at the moment. Well, she decided to see what the other pony could come up with. She would never have admitted it, but she felt pretty much defenseless against whatever was haunting this place.

A silenced thump could be heard from where the pony was standing before and a breeze came from it's direction. A muffled whine could be heard from further down the hallway, but the complete darkness made it hard to fully understand what it was or where it was coming from.

Star had a bit of expirience with the supernatural, but hauntings were not the kindhe was used to. He wasnt the one to run away, but he felt that he strongly needed to get out of the area where that figure was just a moment ago. He sensed the other pony's unease, and simply said, "Run." as he backed away a few steps before turning and galloping full speed back to the kitchen.

Lumina jolted back to the kitchen, running like a scared little rabbit. Reaching the room, she slowed down, and walked in as if it was pleasant sunny day and she was on the streets of Ponyville. She was too proud to run around like crazy in front of others. She calmly walked to the counter, and dropped the knife back to where she took it from.

"Any of you have an idea which way to go from here?" She asked the other ponies coldly.

Thrillseeker never left the kitchen, checking around the room and opening some drawers for clues. He checked all around for signs of a body but only found more of the same blood stains. He flew up to get a better view of the murder scene and hit his head on the chandelier. "Ow!" he shouted, rubbing his head as he lowered himself back down. He then froze as he heard hoofsteps approach the kitchen but let out a relieved sigh when it was just Star rushing back to the kitchen. "Did you see anything?" he asked Star.

 

They were joined soon after by Lumina who put the knife down and asked where to go next. "Your guess is as good as mine," he told her.

The whining from before got louder and louder before stopping. More footsteps could be heard in the hallway across the kitchen. A flash of lightninglit up the room for a bit, and thunder rolled through not much later. A cold breeze flew through the mansion.

Star shivered with the cold breeze and stared at the door where the footsteps were heard. "You bet all of your feathers we did..." he said softly. "As far as where to go next, guess we could just spread out and look around. Not really much else to do here, really." He said as he listened for any more noises in the hall.

Lumina shook her head. "Where did you get the idea to spread out? That's the worst choice you could make in a situation like this. We'd better stick together, and inspect rooms together." She thought for a moment, then added "And you should know this is serious when a pony who hates sticking together with others says it."

Star simply chuckled. "Oh believe me, i know about disliking company." He said, thinking about the scars hidden by his hoodies sleeves. "Besides, if that thing wanted to kill us, it would have at least chased after us." He looked at the door. "Besides, im a big pony, i think i can handle myself."

Suddenly a very loud crash was heard. It came from the hallway. It sounded like something very big had fallen down. The kitchen door swung open and dust and a bit of debris came through the door as lightning lit up the mansion once more, thunder rolling through not much after.

After hearing a few noises from the everfree forest Blue Diamond went to discover what the noise was and tracked it down to a house just inside the forest. "So this is the famous haunted house everyone's talking about?" Diamond said to herself. "Not so scary really" She said. Flying through a open window Diamond started to look around the house when she spotted the kitchen. Looks...looks like I'm a bit late here" She thought shocked at she had seen. Trying to gather herself  Diamond looked around some more. IS ANYPONY HERE.  Diamond yelled. Although this was probably a bad idea yelling where somepony had been stabbed, but she digressed.

Star jumped when the pony started yelling. "Sweet Celestia, we are right here!" He hissed, having been focused on the loud crash. "I dont know about you guys, but Im not staying in this bloody kitchen all night." He said as he walked into the hallway, looking for what had caused the noise.

Thrillseeker stayed put as the moaning continued. In the flash of lightning, he hoped he could find the source of said steps but the rumbling thunder caught him off guard. He listened as Lumina called Star out for spreading out through the mansion. "Lumina's right," he said. "We shouldn't be splitting up in the first place, not in a place like this." After the next spark of Lightning, Thrillseeker watched as the newcomer Diamond came in, shouting if anypony was inside. Star told him that the group was inside before declaring he wasn't going to stay in the kitchen all night. Thrillseeker just shrugged and followed him down the hallway. "So, what do you think that crash was?" he asked out loud.

Star shrugged. "Dunno. Everything looks perfectly fine." He said, looking around at everything, seemingly perfect. "One things for sure, that thing that Lumina and i saw went that way." He said, nodding down the dark hallway. "Im fairly certain it isnt alive, but it isnt a demon as far as i can tell...in other words, it may or may not be able to hurt us." He said as he walked in the direction he had just motioned to. "And i intend to find out what it is." He finished, not looking back.

Shadows flew across the ponies as they walked the halls of the mansion. Suddenly one of the shadows dropped something above the ponies. A knife fell down with the point first towards the ponies. The shadow had intented to kill the ponies, or at least wound them.

"Did anypony else just see that....knife that fell down here!?" Diamond said already unsettled from scene in the kitchen. "At...least there's no blood on it this time." Diamond said picking up the knife. "I think we should keep this.  just in case anypony attacks us". Diamond said.
