Which Mane 6 gives the best advice?

I think Twilight does. She is the book enthusiast of the group and knows so much, she can pretty much give advice for so many different things. Horseshoes? Check. Cleaning a piano with a spoon? Unlike but maybe. World domination? Possibly. I think Twilight would be the one know to many random things that almost nobody knows.

Well for one thing it depends on what type of advice you're looking for.  I wouldn't go to Rainbow Dash for the latest fashion trends.

But if we're talking general life advice (ie how do I deal with X person or feeling confused) I'd go with either Applejack or Fluttershy since they tend to be the most understanding IMO. Nothing against Twilight Sparkle but I think she can be a bit too literal minded or oblivious at time and so I think AJ and Flutters edge her out a bit.

I agree with @@Sidral Mundet, Twilight is the "Go To" princess for factual data. As much as I love her, (Best Pony!) she's too bookish to give real world advice on personal problems. If you want some real down home personal advice, I think Applejack is the one to ask. Now if you want some guidance on making a friend happy, or throwing a party, Pinkie is your mare! For fashion or small business advice, Rarity would be perfect. I don't mean to sound mean, but I'd only go to Fluttershy if I had a pet problem. The poor thing has too many problems of her own to deal with anypony's problems. If it's sports or competition related, Rainbow Dash is your filly!

I'd probably have to say Apple Jack, I do prefer honesty above all else. I'd rather the truth about whatever be out instead of bottled away and suppressed. Of course this type of friendship isn't for everybody and I know a lot of people would rather someone lie to them than tell them the cold hard truth. I just personally find honesty to be the best case for myself.

It all depends really.

If its books and history you're seeking, then probably Twilight.  :P

If its apples and farming then Applejack.  :icwudt:

If its party's or breaking 4th walls, then seek out Pinkie.

At your own peril

Applejack's the one I'd go to first. She'd be the one to give me her honest opinion, and be humble enough to admit when she's unsure about it. I feel that she'd be the least biased, or at least the most likely pony to remind me not to ignore/twist my morals to agree with her, or to get my way.

I sensed a topic that needed a helping dose of APPLEEEEEEEEJAAAAAAAACK!

Absolutely thats the answer I would go with. Twilight does give good friendship advice, but her advice is heavily weighted towards what would be better for the Mane 6's relationship (e.g. Rainbow Falls), instead of just pragmatic advice.

Apllejack would give you the low down on the situation, and tell you your options, without bias, just straight honesty. Which I feel is the best advice, dont sugar coat it, or stir it, or shake it.

Like in Rainbow falls instead of:

Twilight: *Quilt trip Rainbow into choosing Ponyville*

It would be:

Applejack: Well Sugarcube, it really depends on what you care about more: Playing to win with the best, or playing for fun with your friends. You choose from there.

(Thats why i love her)

(not in that way, you weirdo, just like, that shes a cool character)

I think with the existence of episodes like Amending Fences coming out in recent memory, I think Twilight not only gives good advice to others, but to herself as well.

Applejack with Twilight not that far behind. Applejack has shown to be the most mature and level headed of the mane 6 and has had to mature the most quickly due to having to help run the farm and raise her younger sister at a relatively young age. Applejack has done more already in her young life than most mares twice her own age. What Applejack will say won't always be what you want to hear but it will be what you need to hear.
