What's your opinion on MLP, being done? I don't think it'll be done after this, but if producers say "eh, nvm", how would everypony react? Hm? (edit: THIS IS A SCENARIO!!)

I would be a bit disappointed, but if they ended it in a fantastic way, I would not be too bothered about it (but I know they are not doing that since Gen 5 is planned for 2025 I believe).

If Season 5 ended on a cliffhanger, then I would be upset. (Unless the movie were to wrap everything up.)

Otherwise I would only be somewhat disappointed for not having any new episodes to watch while waiting for the movie.

I wouldnt care really. Its like with the older series.

Whenever one Mlp Series ended, you can be pretty sure it will still go on since MLP is one of the best selling toy brands.

I know, you might say ( as some ) that the newer show focuses more on character development than selling toys...but they still making toys about pretty much everything that happens in the series, so...selling toys is still a mayor point

So, even if Friendship Is Magic would be cancelled, i would just go excited about how the New Generation would be like  :pinkie:  I think Mlp would never stop completely. Why would it? They still making a lot of money of it.

Some would go nuts for a few weeks before they accept it like everypony else and the apologetics will defend their decisions and bid farewell to the DHX crew and say the fandom will continue living on like Star Trek.

The fun thing is that I got into Gravity Falls recently and for that show this kind of thing is a very real concern. (The creator, Alex Hirsch, apparently once said he wasn't sure if 3 seasons would be too many... and the show's in the middle of Season 2 right now.)

With Gravity Falls, I'm guessing three seasons. Three months of the summer (June/July/August) and, at halfway through season 2, they're starting to delve into some deep topics. Just three would make me sad, but at the same time it is logical.

For ponies, it's confirmed to season 6 at least. But as long as the ending is absolutely amazing, I wouldn't really care.

Imagine starting this whole fandom thing all over again with Generation 5? Rediscovering characters, starting art/fics/music all over again...it is an exciting thought!

It's not particularly MLP stopping that scares me, though it would be kind of sad. Honestly, what scares me is the fandom dying off after the show stops. When that happens, I honestly don't know what I'd do. So much of my time is spent doing stuff related to MLP. I just hope the fandom lives long after the show stops airing, which I don't doubt it will. With all the fan-made content and such.

Fine by me. We had a good run. 115+ episodes ain't nothing to be ashamed of. Especially in this day and age of short lived show, ESPECIALLY cartoons :)

Though hasn't Hasbro confirmed there will be a Season 6?

Declared as early as March 31 2015. Means Discovery Family is in on it.

Apparently the quote is "Originally I thought three. That may be too many though. Perhaps 2 and a movie. Im more interested in quality than quantity. But I suppose anything can happen"

Honestly, it'd bother me. Season 5 feels way too early. Even season 6 would feel like too early of a stopping point to me. People always go on about shows lasting longer than they should and how much that sucks, but I think a show ending too early is just as bad.

I'd honestly like to see at least 7 seasons, maybe even more. I think the show could pull it off well.

I personally wouldn't care that much. I mean, its a good TV show, but in the end, its just a show. I'd probably continue doing the other things I enjoy like sports and online gaming. :P I'll most likely go back and binge watch all the episodes for nostalgic purposes in a few years

Then,

IT IS THE END

I would be pretty disapponited, i would probably weap and play civ v for hours before taking an uzi and marching into hasbro

Honestly, It would suck. Would be sad, and id hope to find another good show

Hypothetically speaking, if the show was to end with Season 5...let's see, if it ended with a bang on a high note, I'd be more than pleased. It had a very good run and all good things must come to an end. If it ended limping, rushed and/or with a cliffhanger that would never be resolved...well, I'd be disappointed then.

Even if FiM ended, Gen5 would eventually be created, no doubt, and Gen6 after that. I'd personally prefer if FiM ended with a movie rather than a Season finale :P

Everything runs its course eventually

and Gen4 had the longest run of any MLP generartion

no skin off my back, if it ends at the end of season 5

but it won't, becsus a 6th season is already in the works

Well then it would be the end, and I would do my best to retain my interest in the show and its fandom.

You have to realize shows, like great books and bands come and go, and eventually must come to an end. It would be a pretty big deal for me since I enjoy the show and spend a lot of time with it, but not THAT big of a deal. As a millennial, I have watched many great shows and actors come and go, not limited to The Colbert Report, Jay Leno, David Letterman, Larry King many many animes, Ren and Stimpy and of course, my beloved Futurama.

If you truly care about the show that much, you would see to it that it lives on in the fandom the way you see it.

I'd think that they better had used the starter and the finale of season 4 for the final season of the show.

The Equality Pony is not a good highlight to end this series.

And no Celestia episode :(

I'm sure, if they would dump down season 6, the movie would be canceled, too.

Depends on how it's done, but now that season 6 is confirmed, it's a bit hard to imagine.

Seeing how the season started (Starlight Glimmer, the castle, the map...) I think it would feel rushed, I wouldn't like it.
