Hello everyone, the Season 5 episode 15 is called Scare Master, that is halloween, so it must air October 31, which is also a saturday. Meaning that the first episode of the second half will air October 24. Do you think that in the meantime, DHX will air teletubbies? What do you think?

 

Also, the ''season poorly planned'' discussion ended with one of my posts, so it's time to say about the final episode has a boring plot twist, Spoiler alert. There is no consistent plot, none of the episodes are linked, there is no story arc, no keys, nothing. And basically the final episode, the villain is Starlight Glimmer, how surprising, this is so boring. I wish it was Grogar or something like that. This season is very inconsistent.

Well the gap isn't too big, it could have been a lot worse. And yeah we knew that information for a long time, I like having a returning villain for once (at least in the season they were introduced).

OH wow, you are kind of missing the point that mLP is a SLICE OF LIFE  show, not epic adventure show.  and yeah of course they bring back Glimmer she too powerful to not mention

I don't know what kind of show you are watching. But MLP was never known to have a story arc.

 

You should better be quiet, before you judge something that hasn't even aired.

Er, MLP Did have a story arc, it had one in 2013 2014, where they searched for keys to open a chest that unveiled a castle.

Actually it's kinda both. Slice of Life vanished after MLP Tales and MLP G3. Remember? It still is around, but it's mainly both now.

Wow that was a quick reaction. It's evidence that the plot and the episodes are seperate, just like gameplay in other video games.

Slice of life referes to just well day inthe life of a character.  The episode dont' have to connect, nor are we nesseary watching the epidoes in order in a time line.  Even the key episodes were rather seperate from one aonther if not for the keys.

I will admit, I'm dissapointed this season compared to last season.
The slice of life episodes are great, but compared to the premier and the lead up to the finale (and the finale) this has been a huge letdown. The chest had alot of hooking potential, and was a great thing to keep you guessing and wondering for the season, and the key episodes helped to keep anticipation high for what was to come.


This season... we have starlight glimmer. That's it. She's a good one off villain, but she's not really any more interesting than Triixe with the alicorn amulet, and her appearing behind a menu isn't anywhere near the same level of hooking as the box was and the keys. Plus, the Time travel aspect really doesn't intrigue me.

 

 

 

So I will say, I do agree about that this season. Can't fault the episode themselves, but you need a little "something extra" to really add some umph and make it special.

Well I'm going to go off the title more so than the spoilers, though we all knew Starlight would be back.

 

That really is poor planning if they wanna wait THAT long. We were told the fifth season was done being made a long time before it started airing, so this is just an unnecessary and forced delay for a holiday episode.

Honestly, almost none of the stuff you mentioned really bothers me. The air date is fine, everything else is fine to me, but the one thing I will say is, I hate the idea behind the finale. It doesn't seem like it will actually make any progress in anything with it. It seems completely pointless to me. I am really looking forward to the rest of the season EXCEPT for the finale. I just hope it ends on a good note...

One thing that I really am hoping doesn't turn out to happen: I've groused on other message boards that I feel that, were Mccarthy in charge of making season 1, she'd have had Cutie mark chronicles have Twilgiht be the trigger for everyone's cutie marks to make her centrally special.

Given how it looks like the finale is going to be Starlight Making dash's sonic rainboom never happen, I could SEE McCarthy trying to pull that to push Twilight even more into the center stage and time travel retcon her into being the catalyst for everyone instead of dash.

Even though I have been watching MLP since December, if we can compare Season 5 to last season. Season 4 was excellent but Season 5, expect for Griffonstone and a few other episodes, was a little bit bland.

Season 2 didnt have story arc either. Every episode in season 2 didnt linked together and Shining came out of nowhere in finale without any hints, then what your problem with season 5? I thought mlp is slice of life... 

 

About the season 5 finale, they may throw us some big twists. You judge the episodes just by watching the animatic alone? I think they try to trick us

The show IS slice of life man, and the show never really had season long arcs. All things considered this season has had a lot of continuity callbacks and is building on the previous seasons. Plot points made this season will be brought into play next season, that's how it works. 

 

I would of liked Grogar myself, but the Starlight Glimmer episode has me hyped none the less, especially since she was spotted in the background in Amending Fences. If however you aren't finding the show enjoyable and instead are calling it "boring and inconsistent" 

 

I have to ask, and not in a confrontational way....Why are you watching it then? Seriously I never got people who would sit there and continue to harp on a show that just wasn't doing it for them anymore instead of just moving on to something else. That's what I do anyway, I just haven't had that reaction to mlp. 

 

There are plenty of good shows out there, I'm sure there is something that could fit your fancy, you don't have to watch a show that is making you so frustrated.
