Someone I can have fun with, someone who accepts me, someone I could tell a secret to and never worry about them using it against me even if we stopped being friends, and stuff like that.

Personally I always think of it as a companion. I try to befriend everyone though those I become more friends with are those I can talk about personal things with such as my life. Yet honestly there isn't really much I ask from my friends other then being friends I can enjoy talking to.
