Rarity is either straight it bi because she's had something bad for two guys.

 

Rainbow Dash is straight or bi because they snuck crap by the radar by having it strong implied she went to "party" with two of the male wonderbolts.

 

Twilight is straight or bi because she had it for Flash Sentry

 

The others can't really be analyzed because they've shown no romantic interest in anyone.

My thinking RD is into mares has nothing to do with stereotypes, it has everything to do with how she behaves around mares she likes and how she is perceived by other ponies, especially in the comics and a certain episode by the name of Daring Don't. 

 

And before you say comics aren't canon, my points make that irrelevant because it has to do with her characterization not whether it fits in the timeline, and that this is from official hasbro sources.

 point number one: Rainbow dash hates hearing about hetero sexual relationships 

On more than a couple occasions in the comics RD is entirely disinterested and frankly grossed out by heterosexual romance, claiming its gushy stuff and not worth her time. Two that stand out are the one depicted above with an alternate universe Sombra and Celestia as well as a discussion about Cadence and Shining's relationship. When asked if she were interested in strapping stallions in the comics she said she wasn't at all and she saw them as friends and bro's, one in particular being a Pirate whom RD was more interested in pillaging with than dating. Now you could argue that her disinterest could indicate Asexuality and not that she is into mares, but that really doesn't hold water considering point 1.5

When she is hit on by a MARE her attitude towards the "gushy stuff" changes entirely. Now yes you could say "Buck she's just kidding" but when she is so repulsed by the idea of romance why would she, unless there are types she prefers over others, like I don't know...

Then there is ponies who know her and their perception of her 

This is a panel showing Fleetfoot daydreaming about big mac (can't say I blame her). She is a wonderbolt whom knows Rainbow dash, and if you look in the center of the panel you can see something very peculiar. while the rest of the mane six are sobbing, her depiction of RD has a puzzled look and a giant question mark over her head, signalling very clearly the idea "What's up with you guys? Its just a stallion" Fleetfoot has the idea that rainbow wouldn't be even remotely perturbed if they took Mac away cause she knows she isn't interested in stallions to begin with. 

 

But this is all comic stuff, maybe the comic book RD is into mares and the "Real" rainbow dash from the show is different. 

 

But is she? Take Daring Don't for the prime example. Up till then Daring Doo the book series had been something Rainbow had been aspiring to be like. Daring represented to her an awesome that was above her own, and you can see it in how she acted around her. She stayed back and watched her nervously, expecting her to represent the paragon of awesome she had envisioned her to be. In the comics she talks about what Daring Do would do in a situation. She was a concept she looked up to made flesh. I ask you, If Daring was a Stallion and Rd was behaving like THIS around him

would you say that she was interested? What's more, if Daring asked her out, would dash say "NO WAY I'M STRAIGHT" or would she Omigosh into oblivion and leap at the opportunity? Which sounds MORE in character to you?

 

Please note in all of this I never once mentioned her tomboyish nature or rainbow mane or anything like that, this is all based purely on hasbro made characterization of her. 

 

Now whether or not the show would DO that is up for debate, they are certainly testing the waters with Lyra and Bon Bon. 

 

Whether or not this changes your opinion on RD's sexuality is irrelevant, the point I'm disproving here is that my reasoning is entirely based in stereotypes, which isn't the case what so ever.

To be clear, this is based on very little.

 

Twilight Sparkle: Bisexual, because I count Equestria Girls, and it allows me to ship her with Sunset Shimmer. If we don't count Equestria Girls, then I'd call her asexual. 

 

Rainbow Dash: If we ignore my own fondness for certain same-sex RD ships, then I'd have her as straight, just to subvert the "RD is a lesbian" meme. 

 

Rarity: Straight, just 'cause. 

 

Pinkie Pie: Pansexual, because duh. 

 

Applejack: Lesbian, to subvert the "conservative straight farmer" stereotype she's sometimes depicted as. 

 

Fluttershy: Lesbian, for balance. 

 

Alternatively they could all be bi. That works too.

I dont really feel like fighting over labels when shows are just meant to be fun If something isnt canon then as fans we can make whatever we want happen... heck even IF its canon we can still make fan art of our dreams! Many of the mane 6 have expressed interest in the opposite sex like rarity during the g.g.g and twilight sparkle in equestria girls.

 

Fandoms are there to find like minded people. If you like a ship then you can go to deviant art or we heart it or pintrest or tumblr. So just have fun and do what you feel like doing and sharing but also  know that others will not share the same opinion as you.
