friendship games So Friendship Games won't be in Theaters?

So... I'm assuming that Friendship Games won't be in theaters, judging by the trailer, which says it'll be premiering on Discovery Family. So do you think this Equestria Girls movie will be the first to not be shown in theaters, such as Century Theaters, Regal Cinemas, etcetera? Tell me what you all think!

Well the other two were in theaters, and there is only more and more fanbase for series, so I don't see why they wouldn't release it tin theaters.

Well the reason I think not is because the trailer said "Premieres on Discovery Family on September 26th" which leads me to believe it'll be like the Pokemon Movies, where it started out in theaters, but then moved to just TV.

Really though, it costs money to get Cinemas to play your movie. Hasbro has never been a company for direct revenue. They don't want money from movies, they want money from the toys their movie will sell. The best way to do this is to just divert all their efforts to airing it free to the widest range of audience.

Yes you're right. So people don't have to pay money to see it, and just have to turn on their TV to watch it, right? But I'm watching it on the internet, from the comfort of my bed.

Not to mention that the previous EG movies were premiered in selected cinemas, they weren't all over the US. They probably realized in income, was not worth it, or they might have got losses even

The only way if I am going to the movies is if my family takes the tv on the saturday the movie comes out. Since I can record it, watch it on equestria.tv and other stuffs I will be home ot watch it this time.

Or you could just watch it on the internet when it gets posted. That's what I'll be doing.
