Merionic figurines!

Merion

Recommended Posts

So, here's something I've been working on for MONTHS! My custom resin-cast pony figurines!  ٩(ˊᗜˋ)و

Materials I use:
● polyurethane resin
● SuperSculpey polymer clay
● I hand-paint them with acrylics and cover them with acrylic varnish

Figurine size:
● 13 cm (5.1") tall
● 8 cm (3.1") measured from the front hoof to the back hoof

So, here comes the first one I made, Trixie! She is pretty much just a prototype, my resin-casting guinea pig. ♥ Hope you like her and don't mind all the minor mistakes I made. (◡‿◡✿)
MORE PONIES TO COME!

Hello ,

I have moved your topic to Other Fanworks. Fan Art deals with works that heavily use digital art and editing programs, while Other Fanworks is used for works like videos, cosplay or, in this case, sculptures.

Both are amazing! I love the Flutterbat one especially, the mane looks perfect! Very well done, wish I could make something like that. The best figure/model thing I've ever created was a clay model of ghost freak from Ben 10 back I was younger. Hahah.

Thanks guys! ♥ I really needed some positive feedback on these, people hardly ever notice my works. ^^'

Okay, so here's another one, Vinyl Scratch! Her mane was quite a challenge, to be honest...

Now if only official MLP merchandise were this good.

EDIT: I'm serious how much for one.

AHH, thank you! You've made my day! ٩(ˊᗜˋ)و

(I don't think I'm allowed to openly advertise my Etsy shop here... but check out my signature! All of my figurines are available there!)

Okay, more ponies! Because there's no Vinyl Scratch without an Octavia. ^^

Nghhh, thank you guys for the words of appreciation! ^0^

I still have a couple of photos left to post... So why not now?!

So, time for DERPY! I plan to make more pegasi figurines sometime, the feathery wings are fun to sculpt!

Very nice, my favorite is the Vinyl one because I love the way you did her mane and shades. :)

So I just bought Flutterbat, and I'll be absolutely honest: this is the only MLP 'merchandise' I've ever considered buying. ;)

NO WAY! I'm so excited, I doubted they'd sell at all! Thank you so much!!

I've just packed her up for you and I'll ship her on Monday. (I'll PM you all the details!)

Thanks! ^v^

Ok, so here comes Aria Blaze! She's my favourite Dazzling and it's a shame she doesn't get as much fan art as the rest...

With how good they are, I was actually worried they'd be sold before I could get one.

:P

Okay, I'm blushing!

Time for the last canon character I made so far... Lyra wearing a hoodie! Because I like the idea of Lyra wearing human clothing. ♥

Wow, this is just awesome! Perhaps you should open up a commission shop sometime.

Thank you! I certainly will, starting next summer!

Ok, this is the last one I made, I only finished it on Monday. A birthday gift for a dear (deer) friend of mine, Mystic Machine! n_n

This simply amazes me!!  I just had to stop lurking and comment on this.  You're very talented!  Also, nice job with the pictures OF the figurines.

Thank you!  :pinkie:

The credit for the photos goes to my dad, I'm a lousy photographer!  :squee:

 umm where's the link dude?

It got removed by one of the admins the other day... Apparently it violated one of the site rules! (Selling things on the Forums is not allowed... even if you actually sell on Etsy and just share the link to your shop on the Forums  :dash: )

Try googling "MerionMinor", if you're interested!  :squee:

  • 2 weeks later...

Anyway! In my school there's a workshop where the Architecture students make their architectural models and whatnot... And the workshop supervisor was kind enough to let me settle my little resin-casting project there!  School assignments keep me way too busy to customize these figures, but I'm still glad I managed to squeeze some casting into my busy schedule!  :please:

post-14850-0-42382700-1448383240_thumb.jpg

These blank bases are 10+ hours worth of casting, filing, sanding and polishing...I want them to be as smooth as possible!

And customizing them takes even more time and effort! I hand-sculpt their manes, tails, wings and accessories and then I paint them (both an airbrush and a set of regular detail brushes are involved). It's fun but really time-consuming...

But in July, when I'm finally done with school, A LOT OF PONY IS GOING TO HAPPEN. CANON CHARACTERS AND OCs. I MEAN. TONS. OF. PONY.

I cant waiiiiit!
