Apple Jack ( No Tail )

Dubwave Nightshadow

Recommended Posts

This is something I did for a friend who loves Applejack. This is missing a lot features to be added on later, but that edit will be posted separately when it is complete. I just wanted to place up one showing the back without it being covered by the tail. Cutie Mark needs to be added along with eye details and a few other things, then clean up. :icwudt:

Bit of advice, if you're going to draw over pencil (like draw a tail over an already drawn body) then try not to press down with the pencil very hard. It makes it much harder to erase the lines later.

Thank you for the advice. I actually have a special Mars White Plastic eraser and a Knead-able Eraser. Between them both, I have never had an erasing problem yet. :)

I actually use both of those when I draw as well.  :)

But they still won't help if you press too hard. Your picture might not be complete, but I can see lots of erase lines in the photo. But then again, I've always been a stickler for perfectly clean linework. But then again, AGAIN, that doesn't matter as much these days since I can now edit mistakes out with Photoshop.

I haven't even gone digital just yet. I want to master traditional before jumping into that. And don't worry. Those are light lines I chose not to erase yet. They will all come off. :P I have no tablet yet so especially not set to start on digital. Want a laugh? Check out what happened when I did try digital for the first time with a mouse. ^_^

HAHA!! Aww, hey you don't need a tablet to go digital.

What I do is draw and ink everything on paper, THEN scan it in for coloring in Photoshop.

Like this...

Coloring with a mouse is easy. DRAWING with a mouse... yeah that's not happening...

Nice work Dubwave. I saw somepony mentioned Photoshop. If you would a free program close to Photoshop there's a few, Paint.net, I use that make all my art. and many others. The avatar you I made using Paint.net, I'm sure you could do far better, and the thing is it works very well with a mouse. It not the fastest thing in the world but with time you can make some very nice art  :proud:
