gaming What is your favorite steam game?

I haven't played like 90% of my Steam library (not a PC gamer) but of the ones I have played I rather enjoyed Psychonauts and Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale.

Eador: Masters of the Broken World is an easy runner-up but I can barely play the game on the lowest settings so I'm not really getting the full experience. Plus I messed up a bit and I'll have to restart when I play again. I wasn't too far anyway.

Tough to say. There's Civilization V, Hyperdimension Neptunia, Arma, Skyrim, etc.

For this current moment in time however, I'd have to go with Rocket League. A game so nice I bought it (and the DLC) twice, with a combined ~150 hours played on both of my accounts so far.

Freedom Planet, hands down. It's a great throwback to retro games, and the game's level design, gameplay, soundtrack and graphics are overall great. Personally, it's my second favorite game of all time in fact.

I also like Team Fortress 2 for obvious reasons. Terraria is quite fun as well.

Civilization V, no question. Civ V is probably my favorite Strategy game, since Age of Empires 2. If you have the game and the expansions, it's so big and so extensive, that it's almost overwhelming.

If you went by hours played, DotA 2 and TF2 by far, with 827 and 733 hours respectively. Other favorites would be the Batman: Arkham series, Half-Life series, and the Portal games.

Welp, I've sunk 550 hours of my life into Skyrim, so by sheer numbers it would have to be that.

since Age of Empires 2

Funnily enough, the HD version of that isn't too far down the list at 198 hours. Sure it's well outdated, but I'll be damned if that series didn't take up enough of my childhood to warrant it taking some of my adult years too.

I should really look into this Civ V some day...

I also own the HD Version, but i wouldn't say that it's outdated. I mean sure, it's not graphically up to date as it was, but i think it plays just as well as it did back in the late 90s.

Mongols FTW. :P

I mean more in terms of how complex some more modern RTS' have become in recent, especially with micro-managing, some might consider AoE as being too simple. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I like the simplicity personally. Probably why I still prefer it over more recent games. :P

I'm partial to the Persians myself. :fiery:

Here's a list with games and their respective playtimes. Some have less hours than others but that's mostly because of having a crap-ish computer.

  1. Portal - 20 Hours
  2. Portal 2 - 34 Hours
  3. Half-Life 2 - 39 Hours
  4. Skyrim - 40 Hours
  5. Terraria - 192 Hours
  6. The Stanley Parable - 30 Hours
  7. Fallout 3 - 51 Hours
  8. Left 4 Dead 2 - 17 Hours
  9. GMod - 77 Hours
  10. FTL: Faster Than Light - 174 Hours

I rebought Civ IV and SimCity 4 on there sometime ago, and also have Civ V. But I haven't even installed Steam on my PC that I got almost a year ago. That should tell you... I don't really have a favorite, I really lost interest in those games.

If I'm going by hours played, my top favorites would be Team Fortress 2 and Counter Strike: Global Offensive. However, I don't really play those as much nowadays. Currently, I play Awesomenauts and The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth the most, so I'd go with them.
