planning The Vampony Survival Guide

A year or so ago, there was a Tumblr blog called the Vampony Survival guide. It got a bit of a niche audience, managed to spread a little ways, and get quiet a few stories written for it. Then one day, it was taken down.

 

I'm not satisfied with that result, and I thought the premise behind it had potential. So I want to revive it as a legit RP. I don't know much about running an RP, so any help with that will be welcome. 

 

The premise behind it is that a demonic scroll turned Celestia into a vampire, and she spread her vampire venom throughout Canterlot, and from there the rest of Equestria. She was killed by Luna, and her night guards have been fighting to restore order throughout Equestria. 4 years later, Celestia rises back from the dead, nearly destroys Canterlot, and puts the entire world in peril, as very the sun itself turns blood red. 

 

The RP will tell the stories of those living in a post infection world, whether they be the ponies fighting the undead or just trying to live a normal life, those outside of Equestria watching the apocalypse slowly unfold, or the vamponies themselves, either giving in to their bloodlust, using their new found powers for their own needs, or trying to redeem themselves and find their equinity. 

 

This will be an anthro RP. It will also be a mix of steampunk and modern tech. The RP will also be toned down a bit from it's predecessor. It will still have bloody violence & sexual themes, but not to the extent of the original. It will also be less post apocalyptic, as that gives us more to work with. This can have as many slice of life moments as it does fleeing for your life. 

 

I'd like to stay somewhat true to the original source material. Anypony whose interested in viewing it, PM me, since there is some NSFW in it. 

 

I'm willing to answer any questions and give any ideas for this a listen.

I don't know much on running an rp but from what iv seen ill try to help if not throw in my OC, iv been thinking of a dark story for him but nothing that would break him too much. im game feel free to review him, and I hope this kicks off well

I might take an interest. While vampires aren't exactly my go to, I like to diversify my roleplays.

 

My problem with this roleplay though is the mentioning of the NSFW. Are you implying just slight sensualism? Or like descriptive detail?

The NSFW will relate to the source material this is taken from, and will be supplied by PM. However the violence & darker themes will be toned down to acceptable levels. And sensual situations can be acted out, but to a point, where then everything else will have to be made vague or left implied. TV-14 levels are the goal.

Please note that these rules are global, meaning that they apply not only to posts within threads, but also to PMs, blogs, status updates, member profiles, and anywhere else on MLP Forums. They apply also to all official services that we operate (ex.: our DeviantArt group, our Facebook page, etc.).

 

If you need to share NSFW material with people, you should do it via outside resources like email, Skype, etc.

Due to forum policy, links to the original NSFW Vampony Survival Guide cannot be shared via Private Message. 

 

You can search for The VSG online and you'll find most of the original lore at lil miss jay/ lil miss eidi. However you'll have to go though unrelated clop to get each of the pages.

I still believe this RP can get somewhere and prove to be both entertaining, intriguing and engaging in a dark themed RP without compromising forum rules.
