There are some rumors about the 2017 movie that it will contain another Draconequus named 'Longma'.

According to some anons it is very likely to be Discord's mother.

 

This is of course based on the leaked Emails and it could be already discarded but who knows?

Hum, that would be interesting to see how Discord's mother would react to her actual son. I, however, hope she doesn't have the same powers as her brat, that would mean his powers are not unique, which would be sad (for me)

@Commissar Alexer, considering that the leaked Sony emails actually contained a comment or two about a female Draconequus in an early treatment, I updated the title and added the Spoiler prefix.  

 

Two? I'm sure it was only about one...

Wouldn't really call it spoilers since some of the sony ideas have been discared. The question is rather how much of it will stay in Meghan's version...

 

 

 

 

 

 

I thought the leaked e-mails indicated the movie would revolve around an alicorn named cosmos :/

 

From what i heard it has been abandoned and now its about some threat to ponyville.

They should just rename this My Little Discord. Seriously isn't it enough a minor character got so much screentime?

Was the series called My Little Twilight? It's about ponies and Equestria. And Discord is as much of a character as mane6 and Spike

 

also with S4 finale it is clear that he joined the mane7 as a more important character (recent Gala episode was the first episode that was told from his point of view)

This would be a good idea for the movie as we don't know anything about Discords origins, and it would be fun to see the mother of chaos in action. Maybe she'll be an ally to her son and the ponies, maybe she'll be the/one of the main enemies creating a conflict for Discord on who to help, maybe this is all a hoax and we're all going to get hyped up and then wait 2 hours in a cinema to see her and then walk out not knowing what happened story wise as we concentrated on seeing her. We'll just have to wait till 2017 to see. Also, this wasn't mentioned on the OP, but all those that read the comics may have noticed the second Draconequus in Tirek's FIENDship is Magic. 

(pause at 7:01 and look to the left). More evidence for her, or maybe a third?!

No he's not and never was supposed to be. Also Twilight is still a pony. My Little Pony. He's even out shinning Spike these days who is more relevant to My Little Pony than he is as he was from G1.

Spike isn't outshined by Discord. He have like 2 episodes every past season. His episodes are just terrible which make Discord seem better and more developed. Discord now became more relevant and since he have his own episode every season, he is as much of a character as Spike.

She could be a supporting character and Cosmos could still be the main antagonist. Either way, all these leaks are subject to change or be discarded by the time the movie comes out, but I still want the alicorn lore to be the main aspect out of the leaks  -_-

If i remember correctly, Sony wanted some major changes to the script. But since Hasbro broke the deal with them and now work with Lionsgate then Meghan didn't need to change anything from her script. Perhaps she will add something for the newbie audience to feel included but it's highly probable that she will leave the minor subplots the way they are. And i think Longma isn't a major character in the movie
