So Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain comes out September 1. The fist trailer for it come out over 4 years ago but I have been waiting Much longer then that. I wanted to know the part of the story that this game covers ever since I first play MGS1 on PSX in 1998! Once I heard about the legend of big boss from the stores told about him in MGS1. I have wanted to know more about him and why he was so revered. I mean the members of fox hound were willing to go rogue, steal a nuke and use it on a city just to get what was left of his DNA. my interest was piqued at that point and I had to know more. I did not know it would be 17 more years until I got the hole story. (and people think that MGS games have a long story, if you look at all the games stores as a hole it spans over 28 years from the fist game in 1987 until what may be the last game in the story in 2015).

So what is the longest you have ever waited for a game? for me its 17 years.

I'm the same as you...MGS has been my entire life - although I was too young to actually understand everytyhing when the first MGS came out, I soon came to appreciate it beyond running around trying not to get caught by the scary guards...

 

Also . . . who are the patriots?

I never really waited for a Videogame since i always started with the most oldest game from any videogame franchise so that i always have some newer games to play.

 

But i got pretty excited after i heard Norman Reedus would be starring in the new Silent Hill Game so i waited for that.

But than it got cancelled...

 

Im also still patiently waiting for Metal Arms 2...since many years...but i guess that will never happen

I was one of those guys who saw the GTA V trailer in Fall of 2012 and thought "man Spring of 2013 is gonna take forever"... when it got delayed I was upset but knew Rockstar would make something better... then when the game actually released I didn't get it until a month later... so a little over a years worth of waiting before I finally got my own copy...

I did wait for Sly 4, that was pretty long. Persona 5 is a long time coming. I guess it helps put the wait for the latest Corpse Party in perspective.

I waited forever for GTA V when it originally came out on PS3/360, boy was the wait worth it, though. In my opinion, it's the best one in the series. I frequently fire up the PC version story mode to cause random shenanigans and maybe do a post-game side mission to work towards 100%, and I play online often, too.

When I first heard about The Legend of Zelda : A link to the past I could think of practically nothing else for months. I even pre-ordered it from Nintendo with my own money. I think I was 12 when it came out, and I think has thus far been the only game Nintendo has produced that they offered pre-ordering on.

Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. The trailer was released October 2010 and the game was only confirmed for Japan for 2012. Fortunately Level-5 Inc isn't Capcom and they managed to bring it over to NA and Europe two years after its Japan debut. So yeah, that was at least a 4 year wait of much uncertainty.

I have been waiting for final Fantasy XV for nearly 9 years and I am still waiting. It was first VersusXIII and now it is XV and it has felt like an eternity for this title. The less-than-stellar XIII 'trilogy' has not made that wait any easier. Episode Duscae also made it worse, I want the game more now.

I've waited about a year or two for Flipnote Studio 3D. Then you were able to download it from a Club Nintendo. I wasn't lucky enough to have made an account in the past, so pretty much I'll be able to play it when my bro gives me his 2DS when he gets the New 3DS, which is not going to be anytime soon.
