Plot- The Holy Grail War is a competition that decides the ownership of the Holy Grail through intense battle royal. While there have been many conflicts over supposed Holy Grails in the past, this term refers to those specifically based around Masters, usually proficient magi, summoning Servants, Heroic Spirits brought forth as familiars, and meeting in battle until only one pair is left to claim the Holy Grail. This battle is fought in Equestria every 10-15 years...

All RP Rules and Global Rules apply!

Note: This is set in an alternate version of Equestria

7 Masters or seven OC's must be chosen to participate in the war. A Master is a designation given to an individual, usually a mage/spell caster, who has become one of the formal participants of the Holy Grail War by obtaining Command Spells and forming a contract with a Servant. The OC's cutie mark will be replaced by the Command Seals...

The Command Seals are three claims of absolute obedience, the crystallization of a great magic, which a Master has over a Servant in the Holy Grail War system. Unable to normally be controlled by ponies, they are burdened by the "absolute condition for materialization", the authority of the Command Spell carved into them at the moment of summoning. They are holy marks signifying a mage's status as a Master. Masters obtain three Command Spells, and Servants have no choice but to cooperate with their Masters due to their hold over them.

What is this inspired by? : Fate/Zero

Servants- Servants are Heroic Spirits summoned by the Holy Grail for the purpose of competing under Masters in the Holy Grail War. They come in 7 classes. Servants are Heroic Spirits made into special familiars of the highest rank that are bound to the Master. Pure Heroic Spirits, the "main body" in the Throne of Heroes...  Even the Holy Grail lacks the power to summon a true Heroic Spirit, so the process is facilitated by summoning them into one of seven vessels prepared beforehand. Even the Holy Grail lacks the power to summon a true Heroic Spirit, so the process is facilitated by summoning them into one of seven vessels prepared beforehand.  Those summoned as Servants are given the minimum information required to allow them to fit into any era. No matter how ancient the Heroic Spirit, they should understand a number of concepts that were not known in their time in Equestria. All servants look on-like in nature and in appearance yet there skills are very real

Heroic Spirits summoned by the Holy Grail are placed into one of various classes. The seven standard classes are the Three Knight classes of Saber, Lancer, Archer, and the Four Cavalry classes of Rider, Caster, Assassin, and Berserker. They themselves don't look like 'real' ponies and more if a ghost type entity or a powerful familiar.

Saber: Servants placed within this class are agile and powerful melee warriors. It is commonly assumed to be the best class overall, with high ratings in all categories. It is one of the three Knight classes, together with Lancer and Archer and also possesses the Riding skill like the Rider class. Saber's true identity is Artoria Pendragon better known as Arthur Pendragon who is regarded as a stallion in pony history. She is the "Once and Future King" and a legendary hero of Britain known as the King of Knights She wielded the sword from the stone, Caliburn, but it was eventually destroyed. She later obtained Excalibur and Avalon from the Lady of the Lake. Saber is a strong-willed young mare who always speaks resolutely. She is courageous, determined, and set on winning the Holy Grail. She constantly insists that she is a knight first and that her gender is of little importance to her. She is resolute in following her own morals regardless of more viable tactics being available should she consider them to be underhanded.  Saber is loyal, independent, and reserved; she appears cold, but is actually suppressing her emotions to focus on her goals

Archer: Servants placed within this class are usually proficient with projectiles and can survive longer without a Master nearby, thanks to their special ability Independent Action; the strongest Archers can be difficult to control at times, in fact, due to their near-total independence from their "Masters". It is one of the three Knight classes, together with Lancer and Saber. Gilgamesh is the great half-god, half-human king born from the union between the King of Uruk, Lugalbanda, and goddess Rimat-Ninsun. He ruled the Sumerian city-state of Uruk, the capital city of ancient Mesopotamia in the B.C. era. He was an ultimate, transcendent being so divine as to be two-thirds god and one-third human, and no others in the world could match him. He was a despot possessing high divinity who believed he was invincible, this lead him to his demise and as a pony was forgotten my legend. He was the King of Heroes  who possessed all things in the world, whose tale is recorded in ponykind's oldest epic poem, the Epic of Gilgamesh which portrays Gilgamesh as a hero, destined to be king and achieve great feats, who is driven to meet his destiny... His title, King of Heroes, is not meant to call him a king who is a hero, but instead implies that he is the king over all heroes. He is mankind's oldest hero, the origin of all myths and model on which heroes are based, so his story is copied within the mythologies of all the countries of the world. The heroes of various myths are derived from his legend, so his Gate of Babylon possesses all of their Noble Phantasms.

Rider: Servants placed within this class place emphasis upon speed and powerful Noble Phantasms, which often include their mounts. Their special skill is Riding, which allows them to fully utilize abilities of their mounts. Rider's identity is Alexander the Great. ls also known by other names such as Iskandar and Al-Iskandar. He is also known as the King of Conquerors who almost ruled Equestria... almost. The King spoke of his reasons. His goal was to reach the end of the world. His destination the furthest border of the East. He wanted to behold Oceanus with his own two eyes. He wanted to leave his footprints at the beach beside that endless sea. No one believed him, but this man brought his army away with him continuing towards the East. The defeated generals finally understood... the tyrant wasn't lying. Rider is noble and physically overbearing. He is not pragmatic, but is a person who lets history run its course and acts according to his impulses. While he is wild and somewhat inconsiderate to others, his greed inspired his subjects and ultimately resulted in their happiness. He is always jovial, values friendship highly....

Caster: Servants placed within this class are adept in magecraft and have a special ability akin to Reality Marble, called Territory Creation, which alters or creates space around them to enhance their sorcery. They are very powerful mage class servants in Equestria.

His true identity is Gilles de Rais, a French pony noble from the 15th century. He participated in the Hundred Years' War as a Marshal and was once a comrade-in-arms of Joan of Arc. He remembered the time when he and Joan were decorated as saviors and national heroes by King Charles in the cathedral with the ars nova melody playing in the background. Caster is a troubled person, having lost the woman he admired. He is almost devoid of any morality, and has no interest in obtaining the Holy Grail.... Well not yet, he needs a master that has a similar outlook on things like he does.

Assassin: The Assassins' special ability is Presence Concealment, which allows them to remain undetected. Offset by their stealth is their moderate combat skills. Due to this, Assassins often target Masters instead of Servants. Assassin's supposed identity is that of the mythical Japanese pony swordsman, Kojirou Sasaki... whose real name was speculated to be Tsuda. His true name was unknown, and to be more specific, he never had a true name. Kojirou is known as a master swordsman whose existence is doubted even though his name remains recorded in history. He did not actually exist, so it would be impossible to summon the real thing as a Servant. The person summoned in his place is not a Heroic Spirit, but an existence closer to that of wraiths.

Lancer: Knight of the Lance and Heroic Spirit of the Lance, is one of the Three Knight classes among the seven standard Servant classes summoned for the Holy Grail War. Servants placed within this class, many of which are Heroic Spirits who were knights, are very agile, display excellent close combat skills, show proficiency in hit-and-run tactics that capitalize on range and speed, and are skilled with long-range melee weapons such as spears and lances. The qualifying conditions to be placed within the class are second only to the Saber class, requiring overall excellent attributes and a high agility attribute. Their only particular class ability is Magic Resistance, and although they "tend to be less flashy than the other classes", they display great reliability.

Berserker: Servants placed within this class are always heroes who have gone berserk in their lifetime. This trait allows them to use the special ability Mad Enhancement, which trades their consciousness (i.e. sanity) for a large power boost. Most Masters are incapable of controlling their Servant once Mad Enhancement has been activated, which eventually results in their death. Berserker's real identity is Sir Lancelot also known as the Pony Knight of the Lake. He was extremely loyal to The Pony King Arthur as one of the Knights of the Round Table. Lancelot's downfall began when he fell in love with Artoria's queen, Guinevere.

These are 'servants' who accompany the OC's (Masters) until the Holy Grail is achieved and won, they are companions as well as ponies willing to fight on their Master's behalf. I have a few rules though...

NOTE: Servants look pony-like in form, sort of like a wedingo or a siren they look ghost like although they have a pony-like body, and are capable to travel in spirit (if needed)

The Grail: The Holy Grail is considered to be a Noble Phantasm. vent more ancient "omnipotent container"; this container is the 726th Grail that sticks to the legend of the name. It is a gate that leads to the Root, Akasha; a hole connected to the nuclear core, the Greater Grail , a wish machine - the key to start up the Great Grail. It is not an omnipotent container, but a replica created to work like a "wish machine" that can bring forth one's own will. It is, however only a clump of magical energy and thus is not as omnipotent as people believe it to be, so wishing for something like "Saving the World" without specifying a working method will not suffice. Even if someone lacks power or wealth, the Grail can possibly carry out such a wish if they knew "the method of Saving the World."

The vessel for the Grail, also called the Lesser Grail , was a literal "cup". However, during the events of the third War, it was damaged in battle and the ceremony was interrupted; for that reason, it had to be made as something that could manage and protect itself.

Noble Phantasm are "crystallized mysteries", powerful armaments made using the imagination of ponies as their core, and weapons or abilities owned by Heroic Spirits. They are the embodiment of the ultimate mysteries of a hero that symbolizes his existence through historical facts and anecdotes. They can be physical weapons, such as swords, lances, and bows, or support items, such as rings and crowns. They can also be abstract concepts, like unique abilities, unique means of attack, curses, and changes to the environment and its physical properties. When summoned as Servants in the Holy Grail War, they are the trump cards of the heroes that allow them to overcome others in battle...

Noble Phantasms make up part of the existence of Heroic Spirits, the anecdotes about their prowess and weaponry all becoming part of the very "symbol" of their existence. As the "ultimate mysteries" and embodiment of the heroes, they are trump cards carried by each to be used at an appropriate time. Most Noble Phantasms will belong only to a single hero, activated only by them, their true owners, by channeling magical energy into them and releasing their true names.

Thaumaturgy is the general term used to refer to the several modern schools of Magecraft such as Astrology, Kabbalah, Alchemy, and Shinsendou. Divergences can be found among different schools, but the fundamental basis is “to convert Magical Energy inside the user’s body to transform the external world”. The practitioner acts in accord with the system that each school operates under to execute a pre-built program. That “program” is a set of universal rules that interfere with nature once they are enforced. The power that enforces those rules is the magical energy of the magus and the command to do it is made through his circuits. The greater the interference, the greater will be the amount of magical energy consumed....

These are the basic substances that shape the world: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind and Void (Ether) or Water, Fire, Earth, Wood and Metal. Fire is called normal and Wind is said to be noble. Additional elements include Light, Darkness/Shadow, and Quintessence. A mage can wield only ONE of these.

Unicorns, Pegasi and Earth ponies have a pseudo-nervous system that spreads itself through the ponies body and what qualifies a pony to be a mage. Their normal functions are to act as paths that convert Life Force into magical energy, but humans learned how to control it and use it to perform mysteries. They are that which connects the material world to the astral plane, the paths which connect to the foundations underlying Grand Rituals. If magical energy is the force that actualize the rules of a Thaumaturgical Theory’s system, then the Magic Circuits are the pipelines that converts magical energy and transmit that energy from the magus to the system.

Magic Circuits reside within the magus’s soul, and what is found on the body is just a physical expression of them that stretches itself throughout the body in a fashion similar to the nervous system...

Unicorns: The average type of mage, they are able to go lengths a normal unicorn won't be able to go without proper training, there powers go from elemental control to creating bounded fields and are able to use a number of abilites. Many can use jewels if needed to create or use spells.

Pegasi: Rare in there traits for mage powers they use speed enhanced magic and have strengthing type magic allowing them flight, though not many Pegasi have particpated in the Grail War.... and are considered a meduim level caster at best. Despite this there speed allows them create feats.

Earth Ponies: Ther most rarest when it comes to magic, it is unkown if Earth ponies possess magic... as they do possess strength only ponies would dream of, although there has ben cases where a earth pony is able to manipulate mana to an extent although such things are still to be recorded.

Although, the Master/OC needs to have enough mana/magic to allow such actions, and if needed they MUST you a command seal to allow the order of the attack.

Rules (in RP):

1. No OP Unicorns, Pegasi, or Earth Ponies

2. No Alicorns... Nope, never

3. Servants MUST fight other Servants... unless you OC gets cocky and thinks him/her can take them on.. I suggest you shouldn't fight other servants...

4. Also you play the 'servant' as well by the way

5. To kill the servant you must KILL the Master, knowing this... excessively vulgar language, descriptions of excessive gore, intentionally erotic descriptions of a characters anatomy or actions, and so on...

6. OC/Masters must have magic training and the OC's can have combat training (optional)

7. ONE OC must be evil-ish, for plot reasons and we need to make this interesting...

8. No Canon MLP characters allowed. Nope. Never. Nope

In a nutshell its very simple; 7 Ponies will be chosen as masters and must summon a servant for them selves in order to get the Grail, if you OC is not up to scratch well... sorry but no entry, if they do however... then they fight for the Grail although this takes strategy this is not a all out brawl. My role? I will be the Overseer for the Grail War, my position will be neutral until otherwise.
