I'm so incredibly excited with all the upcoming episodes, especially What About Discord and the Hooffields and the McColts episode. An episode with my two favorite ponies, Twilight Sparkle and Fluttershy, solving a dispute, I can't wait to see it

Pretty cool. Except.....one thing, and this has been a concern for me ever since the leaked stuff: The finale. I really, REALLY hate time travel plot ideas. It just seems so pointless and plus I just hate the idea of not seeing Twilight as a princess, it irritates me to no end.

Princess Twilight and her friends continue to fight against Starlight's attempts to alter the past, but they fear that their efforts may be in vain.

 

That really irks me. I really just want this to be their attempt at increasing the suspense and the actual finale will end on a good note, with Twilight still being a princess and all of that. No cliffhangers and no backing out of stuff. Am I making sense there? This finale actually has me a little concerned and I really hate worrying about this stuff rather than looking forward to it. I hope someone can ease my worry here. I just want things to continue as they are right now.

 

Everything else in the season sounds awesome though, so I can look forward to that I guess.

I really don't think this will happen but if for some stupid reason it did, this would be enough for me to say "I'm out!" Like, awesome, two entire seasons, down the drain. Advancement completely destroyed.

 

This has been my biggest fear since season 3 and I really, REALLY hope this is not what they are planning, but I highly doubt it.

Finale got a bit of a bump with the mention that all the Mane 6 are going to be after Starlight.

What About Discord? took a bit of a nosedive.  The description does not look appetising

While I am always in the standpoint of "change could possibly be good change", I do think it would be insanely pointless to change Twilight back to a Unicorn. Entire seasons of character building would be undone, but that is not the worst part. The worst part is that they would be giving into bronies because they complained enough. If they give into them in such a HUGE manner they may as well hand over the scripts for the show and let bronies write them.

 

The show has already become memefest central, so this would only send a message to fans that if they bitch enough they can get what they want.

 

Time travel plots can be done right though if in the proper hands. Look at Chrono Trigger: a masterpiece.

That's the most likely scenario.

 

I doubt they are about to undo 2 seasons of building just because bronies complained. She may become a unicorn again for like that episode, but if it's not resolved on the final episode, it will be episode 1 of season 6. That way they can "give bronies what they want" without actually giving it to them. "We made Twilight a Unicorn again, but you didn't say for how long!"
