Point is, I'm not about abolishing the second amendment, and the right to get guns, but to make more restrictive. Back when the second amendment was signed, they had powerful, but inaccurate and a slow weapons, which could take about a minute for every shot; now, we got guns as powerful, but faster and more accurate, making them godly devices compared to the ones back in the day, and sometimes it takes just a bad day before corpses start appearing

And my point is, if you truly want this country to stay free, our government needs to fear US. Not the other way around. If bodyguards can have access to these weapons to protect those political parasites, there's no reason that we can't use them to protect ourselves. Without them, we'll just see an increase in mass shootings. Not by thugs, but by our own military. That's already happened.

The problem isn't "giving" guns to people that are insane; most of these mass shootings have been engineered. People always talk gun control, but what about police control? There's no reason the Broward PD couldn't have stopped that guy from shooting up the school in Parkland. They received more than 40 calls about him weeks before it happened, and they did nothing. That's what happens when you have a corrupt sheriff who's in bed with all the gun-grabbing, leftist scumbags in our government.

The solution is stepping up armed security and allowing concealed carry, not disarming the populace. I can tell you as a person with four years of experience in this profession that there's no greater deterrent. The failed attempt at Maryland proves that.

Well, that’s a rather valid point. It’s just I have a big respect for firearms since I know how deadly they are (Just ask the rabbits, deers, ducks, and parrots that I’ve killed myself :fluttershy:). Guess the second amendment it’s the lesser of two evils in the end. First, banning or crossing the line on gun restrictions will likely expand the black market. Second, like nukies worldwide, an armed civilian population is a good deterrent in preventing the government crossing the line. While I love the US, it’s well documented that the government’s trustworthiness is questionable. I still think guns should be treated with more respect >_>

Exactly. Human nature will always make it necessary to keep criminals in check when they come into power and abuse legislation to take our rights away. The founding fathers knew this. And it's for that reason the preamble to the Constitution uses the word "posterity"; to secure freedom not just for the people from their era, but all future generations going forward. They wrote the Bill of Rights with the foreknowledge to make all technological advancements to come irrelevant. Every firearm, no matter how sophisticated, has to be protected under the second amendment. Even the big, black, scary "assault rifles" the Democrats say we shouldn't own.

Because self-preservation is a fundamental human right. It doesn't matter what weapon you use for that purpose. Nobody has a higher claim over your life and property than you. You use whatever you deem is necessary. I won't give up any means of protection just because kids have been senselessly murdered. That talking point from the left is nothing but a shame tactic, used time and again by statist tools like Tara Strong. It's ironic that a Jew of all people would use kids to promote such a fascist agenda, propping them up like the Hitler youth and taking advantage of our emotions until we're convinced disarmament is for the greater good. Bullshit it is.

Definitely don't understand this stance of "She should not be slinging her political views around on Twitter and such!" Why not? Unlike any of us here, she actually has a platform to voice her views in a way that others can see it and evaluate it. None of us have that, that is something we could only dream of. Nobody cares about what we have to say, but there are many people that will listen to her and potentially change things for the better. If Mr. Trump the Insecure can be a brain dead dumb shit on Twitter all the time, I am sure Tara is allowed to give her own two cents.

The gun thing, I have no comment on it anymore. People cling to their weapons like it is another one of their children and many think that gun control = Take all guns away. No point trying to reason with that.

Many think that because that's exactly what many gun control advocates want. At least half of them, in fact. They just don't want to admit it.

And while we're on the subject of "real gun control", HR 5087 and other bills like it were designed with the intent to classify all semiautomatics as an "assault weapon" for the purpose of banning their manufacture, sale and distribution. And not just rifles, but handguns and shotguns. It's not a total gun grab, yet it's still a major infringement that limits your chances at surviving against large groups of attackers, or people with more advanced weapons (which they could always find on the black market regardless if ANY gun laws are passed). They're telling you to just be grateful you can still use pea shooters, like that's suppose to make you feel safe in this day and age. Fuck that.

Guess they couldn't comprehend the differences between the word "banned" and "control."

Someone who claims to be friends with Tara says he was blocked just because he has a different opinion than her politically

Hey, Tara. Whatever happened to the ''I come from a place and love and tolerance'' that you go on and on about?

Mamy of her political views are different than mine, but I still respect her as a person.

She is a little bit too vocal sometimes though, but whatever her opinion is isn't really my business.

I like her as an actor, but it's getting harder and harder for me to like her as a person. Ever since Trump won in 2016 she's gone off the deep end. I hate to use the term ''Trump Derangement Syndrome'' but she is acting like someone who has it.

I'm not saying Trump derangement syndrome is real or not, but if someone wanted to make a case for it being real. then Tara would be the example they would use

I don't have a Twitter, but I have seen some of her posts. I definitely disagree with many of her political views (especially guns) but I still appreciate her voice acting talent.

I've been following her on Twitter for a month or two now. She does not like Trump at all. I just hope these tweets don't get her fired.

Those tweets won't get her fired. Hollywood and the mainstream media are extremely liberal and anti-Trump. Tara falls right in line with their beliefs

I have no problems with her views, I disagree with her views, but I have no problem with them.

What I DO have a problem with is how she expresses these views. She expresses her views in a disrespectful manner. What she fails to realize is that she is representing many shows and could potentially push away many people in many audiences.

I'm actually confused on why the people running these shows let this slide.

The entertainment industry tends to lean heavily to the left, if Tara was expressing conservative sentiments you can bet she would be getting reigned in pretty quickly, but because she is expressing the 'correct' political views she gets a free pass to say pretty much whatever she likes.

The media portrays antifa as heroes, they would definitely slide that :dash:

Anyway, I think dweling into any celebrity's personal life, including political views is a waste of time. I would prefer if she was more respectful assuming the claims she isn't are true (I don't use Twitter at all)

Can somepony write me the TLDR about what the fuss is about?

@KillerKingBakudan

You don't pay much attention to politics, do you?

Tara Strong's a perfect example of everything that's wrong with the Democrats. Because:

1. She's uneducated.
2. She's hostile towards everybody who doesn't think like her. Including her fans.
3. She's an SJW. Disagreeing with her on any social issue makes you a racist, sexist, homophobe or some other bigot in her mind.
4. She's a socialist who doesn't give a shit about your constitutional rights.

She's a piece of shit. Plain and simple. The sooner Hasbro drops her, the better.

Yeah, crap like this has going on with Marvel Comics for well over two years now with writers lashing out and even threatening legal action against fans just for disagreeing with their political views and rarely have they ever received due penalty for it thanks to them being on the "correct side" of the political spectrum. So long as you know the right people, you're good to go. This is just the way the entertainment industry works, only independent creators are truly "free" to speak their minds about political issues, essentially. As much as I dislike the way Tara Strong's acted as a person in recent times, it just goes to show the importance of realizing that artists and their art are separate. It's understandably annoying how much bias there is to the left, even in entertainment, but you get used to enjoying entertainment for what it is, unless Ted Nugent's the only entertainment you feel you'll ever need. ^_^

Not going to sound mean or offensive here, but this is really sounding like an oversimplification. And disrespectful as well.

You know, I was going to write a detailed response. But after reading THIS, I'm not even going to bother. There's just no point.

First of all, I don't HAVE to respect Tara Strong. I don't have to respect anybody who shares her beliefs or defends her actions. And I'm certainly NOT going to respect any political party that uses our media to demonize non-left leaning white men like me on a day to day basis. Understand? I've experienced too much discrimination in California to have any positive thoughts about these people. You're clearly a huge fan of Tara's who will support her no matter what she does. Keep watching and supporting her work if that's your prerogative. But don't think you get to demand that I stop criticizing her. I have a right to. A lot of the garbage that came out of her mouth offends me on a personal level, so I don't care if she did help fund treatment for a child's brain tumor. Knowing her, if that little girl was wearing a hat that said "Make America Great Again", she probably would shut that fundraiser down.

Second, I'm not going to waste any more of my time repeating myself or what others have already said about her. There have been plenty of examples with citations given about Tara posted in this thread. If you don't want to read through it all, just look at the most recent one about how she treated that Uber driver. That alone speaks volumes about the kind of person she is.
