What do you do for a living?

I'm a carpenter currently in the third year of my apprenticeship. I love my job. I get to work outside and build high rises. Some day I'll get to drive by with my children and I can tell them, "I helped build that, ya know." And they'll say "Pay attention to the road Dad, you're going to get us killed."

I'm a PHP developer. Right now the only disadvantage of this job is that it gets boring over time, if you work too long on one project. Besides that, it's great.

My first two worklpaces sucked, one because of continous, unnecessary pressure and way over the top expectations for shitty cash. Second - a total chaos in management, nobody really knew what they were supposed to do. Plus constant attempts to screw over clients and sometimes the staff as well, so that the company could squeeze a few more cents out of the project.

Right now it's way better, I've got into a really good team, I can develop my skills like never before and I get paid well. I'm really gratefull for that.

Right now I'm a student studying Mechanical Engineering, though I intend to go one step further and get a masters in Aerospace Engineering.

When I'm not at college/during the summer I've worked at a local Soccer shop, this summer I will probably work there again though the summers after I hope to have an internship somewhere.

I am the Derpy :)

For work I either deliver parcels and mail, or manage the office (that deals with the delivery of parcels and mail)

cooincidentally, as i'm usually on the road all day, and work long hours I don't get time for a lunch break, or to pack lunch for myself the evening before, so I often need to buy something inexpensive and fairly filling that I can grab and eat on the go, and for many years - long before I ever watched MLP I have found that a few muffins will see me through the day

Also I am incredibly ditzy thanks to the wonderful benefits of ADHD, but somehow when it comes to organising or making deliveries, no problem. I just temporarily lose the keys to my vehicle about 20 times a day

A popular thrift store. I love it, but my position gets treated extremely less fair than we should. 6 supervisor type people vs. 2 cashiers. Our customers are pretty amazing, though.

I work activated and selling phones for Best Buy Mobile. I actually like my job and the people I work with. The pay is actually pretty good at a start out rate and it's well above minimum. My future though is the military.

I'm an office drone. No, wait, a junior specialist in the third biggest private medical company in Poland. That sounds better. Untill I recall that I've studied for 5 years to get a master's degree in Public Health in order to get the job and be considered "qualified" to fill excel spreadsheets.

I am actually unemployed. But i sell my Plasma every week for atleast 25 bucks, which is about 100 or 125 bucks a month. I actually come out very good with that money and the money i get from the state.

But still, i want an actual job.

I work at a cake shop. I am the utility guy. I wash dishes, help the baker with baking, clean things, fix things, and pretty much do whatever they need me to do. Not the most exiting job, but I get good hours.

I'm a junior in high school right now. Also, I have no idea how I'm going to make a living, assuming I live that long.  :(

I haven't even learned how to drive, pay taxes/bills, etc. I am doomed.

I work in a grocery store overnight stocking shelves.

That isn't any kind of life. Stay in school, kids.

Hey, I did that for a while too. I did what I had to so I could provide for my wife and I take no shame in that.

However you bring up a good point Envy in that this isn't a kind of life. And what I mean by that is that it's kind of messed up that we teach people that you need to struggle and work jobs that don't pay even close to enough to live off of before they have "earned" the right to work a job that can actually provide a quality life. We are teaching people that they need to suffer before they are allowed to have a good job. We teach them that they need to endure crushing school loan debt before they are permitted to make more than minimum wage.

Doesn't it strike anyone else as odd that as times go on, we are still living a spiteful existence where we tell the next generation that they have to go through what we did in order to earn happiness and livable wage? Shouldn't we be trying to eliminate the fact that people work jobs that they can not afford the basic necessities of life instead of just telling everyone "this is how it was when we were kids, so suck it up"?
