Are celestia and luna immortal in eqh? If mlp's concept of alternate dimensions runs correct - all alternate instances of all characters in all dimensions are connected - so if you hurt one you hurt all instances of them in every dimension.

Under this logic luna and celestia would also have to have lived as long, because as EVERYTHING is aligned the same , all the same characters etc, events would have to have transpired similarly, which means celestia and luna have to be over 1000 years - and without magic this forms a plot hole.

I believe as a result of this magic DOES exist in eqh, it just has been dormant for a long time - otherwise magic wouldn't even be able to be BROUGHT into their dimension. I think the crown simply activated "the magic within".

It might also explain why luna and celestia seem to be so "unphased" by all of this. It is stated that celestia visited a lot of other dimensions - perhaps she has already visited this one and thus both celestias are already aware of each others existence.

Oh, puh-lease, that's just plain...

That's...

It's...

That's a pretty damn good question actually.

No.  Or at least I don't think so.

If they were near immortal in that universe, what would they be doing working as principle and vice principle of a high school?

OBJECTION! There is a contradiction in your first paragraph!

If the above quote was true, then every time either pony or human in the show or movies are hurt, the other self in the other world would be groaning in pain out of nowhere. Nowhere in the show/movies has anyone ever said, "Ow, what's this pain in my body coming from?"

So, no. The two alternative selves cannot feel each other's pain. The human versions of Celestia and Luna may resemble their pony selves, but they don't live exactly the same lives as them, much less have immortality.

Besides, where in the show did they ever say they were immortal? Princesses Celestia and Luna have stated in their journal that they have a longer lifespan, not immortality!

what are celestia and luna doig working as almost useless overseers of equestria for 1000 years?

the point is moot. We all do jobs we hate - why not do it for 1000 years?

it also never stated they are NOT immortal - thus I call technicality.

Also in the "good sombra" arc it does claim that evil celestia and luna cannot be harmed because what ever happens to them there affects good celestia and luna in equestria - not sure how canon that is, but it's something.

Also that mirror had to have been used to visit that world already, since luna and celestia already knew about WHERE it led to.

also who is to say that no ponies double over in pain for no reason? Just because we have not seen it doesn't mean it hasn't happened - what of ponies that magically wake up sick, or have some unknown ailment come out of nowhere? Food for thought..

also your theory is based on the fact that ponies are constantly getting hurt - from what I have seen ponies are barely ever getting hurt. Thus any consistency of us seeing any ponies get hurt from any dimension are slim - esp. humans getting hurt translating into equestria.

It might also be one of those things where the dimensions are SO connected that if one pony gets hurt in one, a SCENARIO is mirrored in the other dimension for THAT pony to get hurt.

So they might both stumble over a rock in each dimension and go "OW!"

Just because it works like that between the mirror world and Equestria Prime in the IDW comics doesn't mean the same rules apply between Equestria Prime and Equestria Girls World.

The concept of EVERY alternate world working like how your OP argument states it works is flawed!

so is your argument that it doesn't :P

also mine isn't flawed - it just doesn't have enough info to consistently back it up - thus it is a theory - which can at any time be proven wrong with more information provided, which, we currently do not have enough of to disprove :)

I don't think that the Equestria Girls version of the princesses are immortal.

I am open-minded! Your OP strongly implied the pain-sharing concept applies to all worlds. I know you used the word, "If" in your OP, but it gave me (and possibly other readers) the wrong impression. I was just showing how someone can blast a hole in your theory.

And I am a believer of the multi-universe theory: The idea that every single possibility can happen in its own timeline or alternate world.

Probably not.

Although it's still possible that they simply have Officer-Jenny- and Nurse-Joy-style family lineages.

Magic doesn't exist in the human world (besides what Sunset brought in) so the concept of immortality doesn't apply. The alternate versions of characters don't have any connections whatsoever.

This answer to this question is simple.

They aren't alicorns in the human world, and they can't perform magic.

Imagine human luna visiting you in you're sleep and being all casual "are you having a bad dream?"

The comics and EQG are not canon to one another or to the show. The proof is in your statement that, in the comic, hurting someone in one dimension hurts them in every other dimension too.

If that's the case, then Twilight Prime would have felt it when Midnight Sparkle was defeated. She clearly didn't, so the comic obviously doesn't apply.

--------

EQG is also not completely in line with the show's timeline, because its Twilight Sparkle had never met Celestia or the other Element Bearers, and characters normally from Canterlot / Equestria are instead attending Crystal Prep (Fleur de Lis is one.)

Actually, that whole shared-effects thing only applied between Main!Equestria and Mirror!Equestria, and even then:

1. They were more closely connected than Main!Equestria and EQG!Equestria.

2. Celestia overused a prototype mirror and caused trippy interdimensional effects anyway.

Maybe time goes faster in the pony world than it does in the human world. Maybe Luna and Celestia go through the portal and gain some immortality/potion of youth to make them younger!!! What happens if pony princesses and human principles switch places every now and then and that is why  they are both immortal!!!!

Perhaps not immortal, but I like to imagine that there's some sort of spiritual/magical link between each pony-human. After all, despite magic not being prevalent in the human world, there must be some magical forces that linked the two worlds so thoroughly. And seeing as we know magic can work in the human world, it's not crazy to think it's there normally but just hidden. In fact, this must be a given because it's the only way the Mane 6 could have done their transformations.

So back to the original question, if magic is thus apparent in humans(and simply dormant), it's not crazy to think Celestia and Luna have dormant magic. It might not even be crazy to think that because pony Celestia and Luna are immortal and super powerful, their human counterparts could have some serious power too.

Considering magic doesn't exist, and in FG they all seemed terrified of dying, I think not.

Ok, I'm confused. What you were talking about with alternate worlds sounds much more like parallel worlds to me. Or, a combination of the two, something that would play a part in the book I want to write. Because this truly seems to be an alternate world, it wouldn't make sense for every alternate Celestia and Luna to be immortal. And the thing about all of them feeling pain doesn't make sense if it is an alternate world, because they would have to have the exact thing happen to them, thus parallel. Anyway, that's that. (PS if you'd like to know more about my book idea, you can ask! (Not that anyone will, but might as well say it.))

No, I don't think so. Principal Celestia just doesn't shout "Immortal"

I do not think that they are immortal.

Except for the Rainbooms (and the Dazzlings), no one can use magic, so I think they are just normal humans. ._.

Well, it's possible different people in Celly's and Luna's bloodline were named the same
