They're both pretty. I can't decide! But I think that Applejack is pretty the way she normally looks too.

Never was much of a fan of Applejewel for whatever reason. I think it's because she resembles a beauty pageant contestant, and that look doesn't really do it for me. I far prefer AJ in her regular state, and like Trenderhoof, prefer her over Rares.

 

 

If I'm limited to the choices in the OP, I'll go with Rarity.

This is not only bias. This is also due to the fact that I find being oneself to be beautiful. 

 

Applejack was pretending to be someone else. Normal Rarity looks that way because that's her. 

 

The winner is Rarity. 

 

I personally think normal Applejack looks prettier than appealing Applejack.

Applejack looks better no matter what she's wearing.  I think she has a better color scheme but I also prefer her personality over Rarity's.  It's not that I dislike Rarity in any way, shape or form.  It's just that I'm a working-class guy from the south, complete with a country accent, so I identify with Applejack a lot more easily.

rarity has admitted in the past that she wears fake eyelashes, so she is not actually being herself either.

 

also I think the fact applejacks tail isn't showing influences it too - a lot of raritys allure imo is her tail.

Rarity is much more beautiful and elegant, Applejack has a natural, strong attractiveness about her.

I like both, but I would have to say rarity because she is being herself and it fits her, for applejack, being Applejewel is her not being herself and make's her seem fake, Applejack is more pretty when is being herself and not being something she's not, this gif image is what I am talking about, she looks

I didn't care much for the Applejewel costume. The color scheme is weird and it looks a little tacky. IMO it actually detracted from AJ's usual good looks. 

 

So within the parameters of the question, plain Rarity looks better than Applejewel.

 

I do however think plain Applejack looks better than plain Rarity.
