Bronycon 2016

I have never been to any brony events but I am planning on going to BronyCon 2016.  I want to find people in my area (Ohio) that I can ride with so that we can split travel / hotel expenses.  It's going to be a blast.  I can't wait.

-Bring your own food (con food is expensive).

-Book a hotel before April. Shop around (unless you can't find anything, then go with what you can find).

-If you're flying in, take the train/shuttle system from the airport, it'll lead you right to the street the con center is at.

-Bring lots of money. Merch will be expensive. Take a look at the schedule, plan everything out.

@@ninay. Hey Ninay. Since your topic refers to bronycon 2016. I'm moving it to Sugarcube Corner where it will be best suited.

Oh, thank you. I didn't really know where this topic belonged. :D

I figured this would be a good place to ask this:

Does anypony know if the Walmart south of the convention center is one that allows you to sleep in your car overnight? It would be so much cheaper for me to crash in my car for the night than spend 150 bucks a night for a hotel.

I know every WalMart allows RVs to be parked overnight, so you should have no problem.

I've been to Bronycon twice now and am making plans to go for 2016 as well

I love giving people advice on stuff like this so I'll share some (one) things here. With Bronycon, you want to save your money and start planning early. I suggest November or December if you have low income like me. If you have higher income you could probably hold out a couple more months. No matter how much money you make it's still best to book a hotel room early just to be safe, you would be surprised how fast the Hilton will run out of rooms. Also on the subject of rooms, rooming with friends is highly recommended to cut down on costs unless you are prepared to spent 500$+ on the hotel room alone.

I actually checked on a website that lists which walmarts do not allow RVs overnight, but it looks like the one near the con allows for it. The next question is: Is that policy only for RVs or can someone sleep in their car as well?

I think you should be fine.
