So Twilights a princess, and she's

not complete as the princess of

friendship without her friends.

Their mission now is to solve all

anti-friendship problems in Equestria

and beyond, patrolling the streets

stopping feuds, gangs, and dying

traditions.

What could we call them, exactly, that

we have? Are they like the police? army?

national guard? freedom fighters?

girl scouts?

The only term I can think of is often used as a derogatory term, but I guess something along the line of a Social Justice Warrior?

I mean, they just try to spread a message that they personally believe in, right, so...

Either that or some form of militarized counselor.

Illumineighti.

That is all.

Princess Celestia is a puppet. In fact, there hasn't been just one "Celestia". It would raise questions if every ruler in the kingdom's history had the same policies and style of governing, so they've made use of a long line of lookalikes pretending to be the same pony. You didn't think somepony could really live a thousand years, did you?

Princess Twilight and the Knights of the Round Stable. (RD is Lancelot)

Actually, the Knights of the Round Table would be the closest thing that we have to what Twilight and her friends do (even though it is a fictional story). There are a lot of similarities, which is no surprise. The tales of King Arthur and his knights are some of the most influential stories out there. The knights, led by King Arthur, would travel around England helping people in need and going on noble quests for the good of the people. However, they eventually start getting power hungry and start stabbing each other in the back (in a few cases, literally). Lets just hope the Mane 6 don't turn on each other like the Knights of the Round Table eventually did.

Lancelot was indeed the most loyal, not to King Arthur, but to Arthur's wife, Guinevere. Lancelot had fallen in love with her, but out of loyalty and respect to her and Arthur, he did not act on his emotions for a long time. This actually is one factor that led to the knights turning on each other.

Each element represents a stereotype of the public as a whole:

Twilight Sparkle = The intellectual crowd

Applejack = The rural/country crowd

Fluttershy = The downtrodden and mostly voiceless masses

Pinkie Pie = The "lunatics" and outsiders

Rarity = High society

Rainbow Dash = The thrill-seekers/protesters

Discord represents the chaotic flow of public opinion

Celestia is the public face of government

Luna is the "Shadow Cabinet"/Masonic Lodge

Cadence and Shining are the "public spectacle" to distract the masses
