What if there were sound effects you could add to posts?

Sound effects can be a cool thing to add... Right?...

Well this concept comes from a hope within...

Imaging "you" making a topic. You want to make an interesting topic. 

You want to also make it seem funny.

You click a button that has sound effects you can use when another person clicks on the topic.

Like rarity's Oooooohhh! 

This can be something huge for this website.

Other ideas can include adding music for the theme of the topic.

Like the instrumental of the FIM intro.

You have been able to do this in the past but boring people are boring so they complained about it and got the feature removed. They felt that is was annoying to listen to autoplaying sounds. The feature was removed by the staff but there's still a way to do it, however posting such a thing will only result in the post getting deleted so I wouldn't bother try doing it.

 

However, there is a way (which is allowed) so you can post little sound/music players that users can click on "play" to listen to. Like a youtube video but without the video so it doesn't take up as much space.

You need a link that points directly to a sound file. Basically, a link that ends with .mp3 or .wav

 

Then you use the media tag to display it as a player.

 

Example:

[media]http://50.7.37.2/ost/nichijou-ed-single-zzz/anouljjvqz/01%20-%20Zzz.mp3[/media]'>http://50.7.37.2/ost/nichijou-ed-single-zzz/anouljjvqz/01%20-%20Zzz.mp3[/media]

becomes

That link doesn't work because 1. It ends with ?t=2014062023084 and not the file extension. 2. That sound apparently relies on quicktime to be played, you need to post the raw file instead of a file that is linked to a player such as quicktime/silverlight etc.

Also this has been answered ad naseaum. We will not allow autoplay here on MLPF Locking topic.  All of the web dev people here are pro UX ... so no.
