Remember Jay Jay the Jet Plane? A cartoon with some of the worst and scariest looking CGI ever put to TV?

It looks terrifiying today, but for some reason, I never minded it as a kid. Why is that? Why is it that we as kids aren't usually bothered by a show that looks ugly or terrifying to an older audience? Why is it that kids (specifically young kids) can tollerate a show with awful CG or unappealing/frightening character design? I think it's because when we're little kids, we just kind of go along with what ever situation plays out on TV. That doesn't mean we always enjoy it (I always hated Barney, even as a 5-6 year old, not because it was scary, but because it was annoying and sterile) but we never hide in fear from it, since we're always taking in info when we're 5 or 6. Of course, I'm just speaking from my perspective, some of you may have been scared by Boobah (is that how you spell it?) even as a little kid. So what are your thoughts, why to we tollerate ugly looking shows when we're little kids?

Because when you are young you do not have experienced anything better than those shows and your understanding of the world was limited and because of that you saw the show as good material because maybe you didnt have any otehr show to compare it with

as you grow your understanding of the world around you grows too and you stumble into lot of material new better material than the old material that you thought was good back then and when you revisit the old shows and watch them they do not match your memories because your memories are from the childs point of view as you look these shows now they are pretty terrible in any terms but as a child  it was good show because  you cant compare it to any other shows or other bpossibly better material out there because your understanding of the outside world is limited

Kids are more fascinated by what would normally be considered creepy because they don't have anything to compare such creepy things to. If that makes sense. They don't know what creepy is.

I've always cared about what the shows I enjoyed looked like. That's why I never got into Hannah Barbara, and the stuff on Cartoon Network. It always looked sloppy to me, and I remember how much that bothered me as a kid. I guess I've always been an animation snob.

When I was a kid, CG TV shows was not a thing. It was all hand drawn, and a lot of it still looks better than kids shows today. I don't think I ever liked an ugly show, or one I couldn't appreciate the art of in some way, anyhow.
