General How do you cope with loneliness?

Welp the title says it all.   What makes you forget you're lonely? And how do you deal with being lonely?

Well I personally drive, watch anime, ponies, youtube, play video games as well as sleeping. Keep myself from thinking about it I suppose.

Go find a cat, normally. I have six, it's easy.

Well I find things for myself to don't dwell on it most of the time. And on those rare occasions I can't shake the feeling away I think about why is this the case and what can I do to change it. i doubt I'll always be alone so I have that hope to perk me up but that won't happen if I start feeling sorry for myself.

 

Just got to keep picking yourself up till you find something that makes you genuinely happy.

Go out, make friends, fill up my schedule. Try not to think about it. Delve into my hobbies. It works, for a while, but eventually you've just gotta look at exactly why you feel lonely and do what you can to fix it. If I don't feel better, I talk about it to a close friend.

 

Basically the best thing I can do is to not let the negativity sit and fester.

I usually dive into games and space out for a few hours, or just generally find anything to distract myself. I do also find that I tend to tweet a lot of random garbage when I'm lonely, but it usually makes me feel worse because I don't have many followers and no one ever talks to me on it that much anyway.

I don't normally feel lonely c: When I do, I go annoy talk to my brother, chat with friends here or on Skype, pet my cat, just try to interact some. 

 

If there's no-one around, I draw or maybe mess about on my piano, depends.

I enjoy being alone for a while, but eventually it wears down on me. If i can't find anybody to hang out with, i either watch a video or go napping to save my strength.

 

I don't like being lonely, far from it. It's just that i prefer smaller groups of people and sometimes i need some space.

The feeling generally passes within a few minutes on the rare occasion it rears its ugly head. I don't have enough time to dwell on that kind of thing for long. Usually after that moment passes I realize that I'm perfectly okay with being alone the rest of my days and loneliness is just a construct of my mind giving into society's idea that relationships are important for happy living.

I live in a perpetual state of emotional numbness, trying to distract myself from my gnawing loneliness.  I play games, I work on art projects, I read, I exercise, and most of the time I can take my mind off of it enough to get by.  My life has always been about trying to find ways to accept that I will always be alone and make peace with it.  I can usually do okay, but deep down, I know that I will never truly accept it, and I will never truly be okay.  I spend months building up these...like...emotional barriers, convincing myself that I'm more or less okay and happy, but then it can all come crashing down at any time.  It's like....it's like tight-rope walking over an active volcano.  I get through the days by nurturing the hope that there is still hope.

For the most part, I prefer to be alone in the evenings. I meditate a considerable amount, read, drink tea, and engage in other hobbies, so that all takes up that time. On the occasions I'd rather not be alone, I just have a chat with a friend or a few while we hang out together.

I do something to distract me like gaming,YouTube, or just pretend to be my OC stuck in my body to keep myself from remembering I'm a lonely man who has no friends within several miles.......... oh.......

I have actually managed to deal with my loneliness comsidering that I am lonely a good chunk of the time.

What I mean by that is that I no longer let it bother me (as much).

 

I try my best to keep myself constantly occupied.

I have several ways I cope with loneliness... beer, wine, rum, vodka, and whiskey are a few of them.

 

Only kidding. I'm such a goody-goody that I've never even gotten drunk.

 

I'm actually highly asocial, so I'm not often bothered by loneliness. On the rare occasion that I am, I just try to keep busy and not think about it.

I've found watching reaction videos on Youtube helps. It's almost like watching something with a real friend.

I don't. But I'm a pretty bad loner so it never really gets to me.

If I ever do happen to feel lonely, I turn on youtube videos since it sounds like someone else is in the room with me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Either that or I play a lot of video games, specifically Splatoon.
